Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel location was great.

We would have rated this hotel 10/10, however, the only downside was our room was below the staff kitchen and as a result, it was incredibly noisy all day. If you stay in room 307, please ask to change as you will hear every pot, pan, cutlery, chair and chatter from the staff kitchen.

Location - perfect Breakfast- lovely

We didn’t get the rooms we booked. When we checked in late (which the hotel was aware of) we were told they were fully booked so we had to take a smaller room which could be changed in the morning. The second room didn’t even have the correct number of beds we had booked and we had to wait while they brought an extra bed

The grout around the tile in the bathtub should be cleaned or redone, as well as the caulking in the bathroom. Outside of that the room was nice and clean. The nets were quite helpful as the balcony door was opened when we arrived and there were mosquitos in the room. The location was in the midst of vendors. Easy walk to the market, Restaurants (Lukman, Beach House and Emerson Spice), the beach and ferry.

The balcony door was open so the room had several mosquitos. The grout made me want to scrub the tub. The breakfast choices were a bit odd.

We were allowed to check in and leave our luggage in a storage room on arrival. Our room was also ready early so we were grateful for this after an early flight. Room was nice, airey, cleaned every day and mosquito net closed each evening. Shower was good too. Pool was nice and had towels up there to use. Dining area had great views especially at sunset. Staff were great. Location was also amazing. Could walk anywhere and everywhere we needed.

Breakfast buffet wasn't included in our package which was disappointing as I think we were the only people not availing of it. Happens all over Tanzania but must be noted that the electricity/ power cuts are common. Unfortunately one such power cut happened when we were in the lift and we ended up being trapped in there for 5+ mins but got out eventually. Pool was on the roof next to the dining area so it felt a bit weird next to that.

Staff were fantastic….very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of variety and again very nice, helpful waitresses. Hotel location is perfect for exploring the city, and the rooftop bar and swimming pool are great places to relax.

The Wi-Fi is very fiddly to connect, but once connected, it works fine

This is very specific and maybe we were just unlucky, but we got woken up by staff rearranging tables one floor up.

I definitely recommended this one. Everything was good . Staff was very helpful, housekeeping do very good job my room always was spotless super clean. Beach literally 10 minutes walk from the hotel and so many shops all around nearby. Rooftop restaurant is great with reasonable price ,good breakfast as well with so many different options every morning . Only one little thing I didn’t like was the coffee at breakfast. I really don’t understand why only instant coffee powder available . I expect very good espresso machine with coffee beans ,because lot of coffee farms all around Tanzania.

The rooms were clean but our fridge for the mini bar was not working. The beds were 4 post Zanzibari style and we got an extra bed for our daughter, all covered with mosquito nets. My youngest daughter loved the buffet breakfast which had a wide variety of fresh fruit, savoury, sweet and local as well as continental dishes. She especially enjoyed the watermelon juice. The older girls like the karaoke in the evenings. We all welcomed the pool which was clean. The rooftop view was great and the waterfront, ATM machines, restaurants e.g. Livingstones, tanzanite stores, Freddie Mercury museum, boats to Prison island were all 10 - 15min walking distance from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and gave us best rates where they could in order to beat local tour guides.

The gym didnt have its own shower room but there was a toilet not too far away.

The staff made up for the failings who could not have been more helpful or nicer.

The noise always at the bar restaurant and swimming pool which could be heard in the rooms downstairs. And you hear the chairs/tables above scraping across the floor. Took a lesser (in size and amenities) room at the front of the hotel which may have been less $$$. If so I did not receive any refund for that. The air con did not work for the first two nights (not cooling and water on floor) but it was finally fixed. I also reported a couple of other maintenance problems, eg, faucet in bathroom, blinking bedside light, telephone not connected, safe not working. Did not always receive clean hand towels, shampoo, water, etc. So room service was a bit spotty. Hotel needs to keep on top of these things.

The hotel is in a great location - right in the centre of the historic Stone Town. The staff were pleasant and happy to please. And the rooftop was enjoyable with a nice ambience and a scenic view.

My only criticism is the live music the hotel arranged on the rooftop when I was trying to enjoy the evening. The singing was off key and more importantly it was very loud which all together diminished the enjoyment of the previously nice ambience of the rooftop vibe. I appreciate the hotel was making an effort but maybe they should consider what their guests actually want in that setting. I hope this feedback helps.
