My booking was only 4 nights at the very beginning of my holiday in Zanzibar as I had plans to travel to the North of the island to experience Nungwi and surrounding area. Unfortunately this plan didn't materialise and for sure I wanted to extend my stay at Shoki Shoki Hotel .... but they didn't have any ongoing accommodation !! However they were extremely helpful and I managed to move to Shoki Shoki Hostel which is also in Stone Town. They even moved my heavy baggage to the Hostel.

Obviously I was disappointed that I could not stay longer at Shoki Shoki Hotel but I can fully understand why they were fully booked.

This was a great first and last stop on our Zanzibar adventure. Shoki Shoki is close to the airport (About 30 minutes), they were able to arrange a middle-of-the-night transfer (2:00am), and it is in an excellent location for exploring Stone Town. We stayed twice with four children aged 17 to 7. Great for a family stay.

Our stay at Shoki Shoki has been one of the best stays we have had during our short Africa trip. The rooms were well equipped with comfortable bedding, mosquito nets, and air conditioning! Not to forget, the breakfast was amazing and it quickly became something we looked forward to every day! You could choose between a sweet breakfast, English breakfast, and a vegetarian breakfast, which were all delicious. The staff were very friendly and always helpful when we needed it. Although we did not do any tours through the hotel, they seemed to be reasonably priced and to all of the popular destinations.

Great location. Full breakfast. Very attentive staff. Luggage storage. Good restaurant and Night food market within easy walking distance.

Great stay dimmed by irresponsible, reckless driving by hotel recommended driver. We were travelling from Shoki Shoki hotel to Machamvi, approximately a 90 minute drive. The driver made several unscheduled stops - to pick up his wife and drop her off approximately 60 kilometers later, stopping mid-way to pull over and chat to another taxi driver, and stopping several times to buy snacks for himself. The driver drove full speed over potholes, dodging in and out of city traffic, often braking sharply. He spoke no English and had no idea where our hotel was located.

We had a great stay here! My girlfriend and I stayed in the hotel for 5 days and couldn’t have been better. Big thank you to all the staff who made our stay unforgettable! The hotel is very central, 3’ walking to the beach and to the big shopping streets. The housekeeping definitely take good care of the rooms, they are always super clean, and every evening they go and spray for the mosquitos and put the bed nets down. Also they let on the rooms some dates. We book the prision island tour with them, and also the Safari tour for two days and one night and was AMAZING. And what to say about the breakfast..just BIG congratulations to the chef because it was delightful. First they give you a bowl with fresh fruit, guacamole, some bread and a kind of orange-ginger jam that takes your breath away. After you can choose between English breakfast with eggs of your choice, vegetarian breakfast with guacamole on toast or sweet breakfast that comes with homemade waffles, French toast and crepes. Any of them will definitely satisfy your morning hunger. So again, very big thank you to everyone, hope to come back one day :)

Our stay was during Eid Mubarak celebrations, where the locals use the alley in front of the hotel in the evenings as a shooting location to take photos. They also use the stairs of the hotel and seating facilities outside. It was full of people ... Since our room was facing towards the street it was very disturbing and noisy. On the last day they were there until 1 am...

It's a cozy and modest hotel located at the heart of Stone town and a walking distance to local restaurants, the beach and everywhere you need to explore within the town. Easy to get there via Taxi from the airport. I was particularly impressed by the attention to details in the rooms. The local turmeric soap offered to guests made my day! All the necessary room facilities were also present. I can tell that the management is keen on value add-ons! Nice breakfast; good variety & well portioned. The hibiscus juice was so refreshing and an everyday hit! Good value for money and overall 10/10 experience.

We arrived very early in the morning and had to pay for early check-in; we're told that the POS machine was locked somewhere so we had to pay cash. The receptionist could be more proactive with ensuring that there was a card machine available during check-in. This was however sorted the same day.

Breakfast was excellent! Choice between vegetarian, sweet and English breakfast served with fresh fruits! Excellent coffee. Location perfect, friendly staff.

We arrived late because our flight was delayed, we informed the hotel before-and this was no problem at all, however nightguard was not informed about our late arrival and seemed not to expect us. Luckily, eventually all went well...after knocking a couple of times on the door.

The room was well cleaned and organized. The beds were comfortable with quality linen. The bathroom was well stocked with adequate towels and toiletries including toothbrushes. The staff were very friendly and warmly welcomed us. I loved their sumptuous breakfast which was served with generous portions.

Not under the hotel's control but plan for additional costs like city tax for hotels and mandatory insurance when visiting Zanzibar. Locals have many ways to make you spend. If on a strict budget, double check on cost before committing.

Offers an excellent location, just a 3-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal, making it incredibly convenient for both relaxation and travel. The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The room was clean and well-maintained. Overall, this hotel combines a prime location, great service, and comfortable accommodations, making it a highly recommended option for travelers in Stone Town, Zanzibar.

A lift could be really helpful and practical, specially for gyest in teh second and 3rd floors.
