A-ma-zing, that is the best word to describe our stay at this hotel. Although I can write a whole essay on our stay I will try to keep it as compact as possible. You know that feeling which you get when scrolling through social media looking at all those perfect holiday spots? Well this hotel completely lives up to that expectation. This "resort" is very small and private. It consists of approx. 12 villa's, of which several are currently being renovated and a few build new, which all are separated very well to guarantee their privacy. Several of the villa's are located at the seaside, with direct access to the sea. Definitely recommended to choose one of those. Each villa is quite spacious, with a great bathroom and big doors with windows to the garden area with a (bigger than expected) pool. The main area of the resort includes a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner), a large common pool, a common sand beach (with dartboard), a jeux-de-boules area, a fitness area (with basic equipment, but functional) and a massage house overlooking the ocean. The restaurant offers a very wide range of both common and local dishes for breakfast, which you can choose a-la-carte. For lunch there is very nice and tasty range of options as well. And for dinner there is a 5-course menu with options for the starter, main and dessert. Each meal is an absolute treat, amazingly tasteful, well portioned and presented beautifully. Last but not least, the staff... Just wow, amazingly friendly, very helpful, making everyone feel very welcome, almost as if you are staying with your family. We were here for our honeymoon and to be honest we could not have picked a better place. Highly recommended!

Finding something negative for this place is quite a challenge. But if I need to be critical there are only a few things: the beds are too hard, something to be improved. This resort is quite pricey, and although you get an amazing place, great service and high quality, certain things (i.e. lunch if not included, alcohol and taxi's) are very expensive. Certainly compared to the prices to the rest of the island, is very (too?) high. Lastly, the quality of the massages is insufficient. Firstly the massage beds are uncomfortable and the massages themselves are not performed well, something that definitely needs to be improved.

We chose Zanzi Resort for our honeymoon. It couldn't have been more perfect. Hakuna matata. After seeing the pictures and other reviews, we were confident this was the right place for us. The small resort (13 villas) and staff team gave the chance to get to know people over the week and a half we were there. The team were inviting and hospitable, yet discrete. With an ocean access villa and caccooned by gardens on all sides, there was all the privacy in the world. Delicious food from the 5-course tasting menu each night. Quantities of fresh fruit every day (bananas and mangos will never taste the same again..), plus the chilled coconuts and hibiscus juice kept us going. On our last day, we took the hotel's Dhow tour out to Prison Island, the sandbank, and a tour through Stone Town before heading back under sail for dinner and departure. One of the most magical days of the whole trip. Being away 1-in-10 weeks of the year for work, this resort redefined what it means to relax. It felt good to find a smaller boutique resort too. I don't have enough good things to say about Zanzi Resort. Asante sana!

This resort is located in a beautiful tropical paradise with very rich greenery and amazing natural sounds - a truly magical experience! They have an excellent swimming pool without smell of chlorine! Villas have well isolated theritory - for feeling of privacy and freedom. The hotel as such is located in an isolated area far from villages and other hotels. I was amazed how smart and proactive is the personnel in this hotel, excellent service! Meal is a la carte (very large choice for breakfast, and fixed menu with several rounds for dinner). In short, this is a perfect place to escape from a hectic world and enjoy unity with nature! This hotel is located close to Cheetah's rock - takes ~2.5 km walk or ~10 min taxi.

This resort is located in the area without wide natural beach. There is a small artifitial beach created, but as you step into water, you realize the bottom is uncomfortable and the sea is dark and turbid. However, you can use Standup paddleboard for free to explore the surroundings. Besides that, they even offer a free snorkeling/sunset tour on an old wooden boat! Luckily, we came here after stay another hotel where we had a very a good beach. So, having a perfect beach here was no more necessary, and we ejoyed the magical forest and our overall experience was fantastic.

If you want a high quality holiday in nature then Zanzi Resort is the top choice. It may not have the awesome beach, but privacy, level of services and direct access to nature of Zanzibar which is all over around you, make your choice to worth. If on the other hand looking for a long sandy beach and nightlife, don't choose it. We stayed in a renovated garden villa with pool. Exceptional. If you combine the nature that surrounds you, the excellent staff and the usually wonderful cuisine of the hotel chef, you have chosen the best mix for vacations. We have been lucky because the first night they had a wonderful event with a nice band and Μasai dances We highly recommend it.

The only discrepancy is the bad condition of the towels.

Zanzi resort is very good place for couple to having holidays. The staffs there are warm and nice. Especially I want to recommend the dinner there. We have had 3 dinner there and all the menu are different. The cheif should cook for the president of Tanzania. Really delicious!

Where to start! - Very beautiful and authentic facility (restaurant, Villas, Masai house) and a path (including quotes) that guides you through the entire facility in the middle of the jungle! - An outside gym (also can be used for yoga surrounded by al kinds of nature), running path and a shared pool are included. - Breakfast/lunch and dinner is absolutely fantastic! Great options and better taste!! - We stayed in Villa 1 which had a private pool and a path that leads us directly to the ocean (which was just 15 meters from our villa). Ideal for Muslims (100% private)! The villa had everything: large bed, bathroom and sitting area! Hairdryer, dvd player, tv, coffee (french press included), kettle, tea, 2 couches, dining table and minibar! The pool area had a sitting area, table with two chairs and 2 beds to lay down under the sun! You could also swim at night (pool has coloured lights) and also have some lights in garden as well! - Airco and vent (whatever is your preference you can use) in Bedroom area and living area! - Huge windows to acces pool area from living room and bedroom with a view over the pool, bush and ocean! Magical to wake up like that! Also every door/window has a muskito protected cover!! - Saff is very very friendly and everything is hakuna matata (no problem)! - Prices for massage/drinks etcetera are very good priced!! - The pier is something else! To walk the path in the jungle and walk over the ocean to sit and watch the sunset! Oh and on the little beach area and pier there are phones so that you can order drinks or food and sit back and relax!! It is must do in Zanzibar!

Perfect place for honeymoon, villa was amazing and very clean. Served breakfast and dinner are a game changer comparing to buffets. Villas are private, but entrance to the garden is opened and anybody can enter anytime, haven’t happened to us fortunately. Stuff is very friendly, they sometimes bothered us too much, so we couldn’t enjoy hotels beach as much as we would like to, but private pool was perfect escape, where we could feel very relaxed

Excellent personally curated food (we're vegetarians) and drinks. Staff are exceptionally warm and attentive. All events are so personally done and yet give you a slice of what Zanzibari and Tanganyika culture is. Rooms are amazing, especially the ocean view villas - which had (for us) 3 different private beach access routes, plenty sunbathing spaces, and a private pool. An in-resort jungle running / walking path, outdoor gym, jetty for sundowners and snorkelling from, a very intimate spa and prepared excursions. Managers, especially Julia (/Yulia sp.), supported by Nivot, Alexandra, Mudi, were excellent.

Could replace beach / pool towels more frequently given how often guests swim.
