5-Star Review for Mama Beach Residence I had an amazing stay at Mama Beach Residence and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The owner, manager, receptionist, and bar staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful—always welcoming with a smile and happy to assist with anything. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and my room was no exception. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept so well during my stay. The breakfast was a real highlight—plenty of tasty options and something for everyone. One thing that really stood out was their honesty and service at reception. They even exchanged currency at the exact bank rate with zero commission—such a rare and helpful service! Honestly, there’s nothing bad I could say. The service, cleanliness, comfort, and value are easily on par with a 4–5 star hotel, but with a more personal and humble touch. I will definitely be coming back and recommending Mama Beach Residence to friends and family. Thank you so much for everything guys

Honestly nothing to stay bad about it

This property is a little hidden gem. We loved every minute here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We wanted to book a boat trip to maya bay but were worried about the weather so they let us wait until the very last minute then Siri on reception called a boat for us and it came within 10 minutes. We had a comfort sea view room which was really convenient being able to step out into the pool and onto the beach. I was worried about the outdoor bathroom but it was all fine, I did a YouTube video to show this too for others under you can find it under the handle savvy travel girl. The beach felt like a private beach, hardly any tourists there and it was so beautiful. We are now at the Saii hotel and honestly I prefer the exterior of mama beach.

My only wish is if the room decor was updated to include a wardrobe and air con in the bathroom too as we had air con on the main room but the bathroom could get a little warm.

Attention to detail is amazing. The rooms are a good size, the balconies have comfortable chairs and great views. The mini bar is stocked with 7/11 priced drinks. Arrival and departure made easy with luggage service to/from pier. Sun lounges for guests only in front of sandy beach and under a shady tree which is very rare on Phi Phi. Breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve ever had - so much variety and better quality of food than the norm. There is also a cafe that serves great food. Angelo the owner should be very proud of his staff who are all extremely welcoming helpful and always smiling.

Everithing. Location is great. 700 meters from the pier makes it an amazing mixture of being far from the noise and close when you want to go out. We wanted to stay one more night and they gave us the last room with a discount just like that… The staff is very kind and helpfull and a very important point is that the beach is clean and there are no boats. Many hotels have the beaches in front of them full of boats and just a tiny small place dedicated to people. We even hired a private long boat to take us to other places like monkey beach, snorkeling and some other points of interest and we did it all with the front desk. Amazing place…

This stay was perfect for us. The room was nice and clean with good air conditioning and a beautiful view. Mama Beach Residence took care of any and all needs that we communicated and then some. They have boat tours and kayak rentals available, snorkeling and whatever else you might be interested in. You could also get them from any of the vendors in town, but they have them here also for a competitive rate, and they don't push any of it. It's far enough away from the central pier to give you peace and quiet in the evenings, and close enough for anything you might want like access to all the restaurants or shops (about a 10 min stroll down the beach). Addy, at reception, was exceptionally helpful in making sure we were all set to go for any topics. Great English and even found and was vigilant about returning a lost item that we forgot in the room in perfect condition. I would highly recommend this location and would stay here again if returning to Phi Phi.

Excellent location away from the main pier. Quiet during the day. Pool is a very nice touch with the sea so close you can do both quickly. Sea front room over looking the pool and garden was well worth the money.

Could use some updates in places where wear is showing. Shower for example wasn't great at all. No dinner in the off season - could provide guests with delivery options as I've seen in other Thai resorts of this nature that dont have restaurants or limited service. One thing is despite the remotest location included could find on the pier side of the island... the Club beach clubs noise still resonates through the buildings at night. If you want an early night's sleep it can be tricky with the edm bass coming through the little wooden doors to the room. Not the hotels fault and I havent scored them down but anyone who isnt going for later nights be warned!

It’s a very charming small hotel on the beach with plenty of sun beds and areas to relax in and out of the sun or rain . Our room was large and spacious with plenty of ceiling fans on the balcony.., Good air conditioning and smart tv . Breakfast room was lovely and lots of choices. Very good value. They have a jacuzzi pool outside…. Beautiful beach

We had to cut short our stay at the hotel because they had a scheduled black out for our second day from 8.30 until 5.30… They forgot to mention this in their welcome letter. Booking.com refunded our second night and now we’re in Krabi. Our room was large but advertised as a garden room. It was in the back - Garden completely over grown with old garden furniture lying around. Pay the extra and get a villa by pool or reception.

I didn’t use the spa pool as not sure if it was clean and no other swimming pool The garden sea view room had a lovely view however a damp smell was noticed possibly due to heavy rain. Shower pressure somewhat low and temperature not as hot as I prefer

We absolutely loved our stay! The room was clean, good shower, beautiful view. The beach was kept clean and we brought our snorkels and found many fish. It is a walking distance from the pier. The staff helped us carry our luggages from the pier, very helpful. The receptionist helped us a lot with gathering information. I loved the part that we could relax away from the center noise too. Just chilling at the beach is worth staying at Phi Phi so we might just skip the tours next time and relax. And don’t forget to add breakfast! It was delicious!We will definitely come back!!

The Hotel was ideally situated for us, just on the edge of all the business of Phi Phi. It was a quiet and peaceful resort. Nice balcony with very comfy chairs to look out over the gardens and sea. Staff greeted us at the ferry and took our baggage on the short (15 minute) walk to the hotel. Staff were very helpful throughout. We really enjoyed our stay.

Not really a negative but...the bathroom arrangement was strange, being semi-outdoor on a balcony with curtains. Lovely for fresh air, but the louvre bathroom door potentially allowed bugs into the bedroom. Not an issue that we suffered from, but something to consider.
