We had a very nice stay at Born guesthouse. Jenny and Paulie are super friendly, gave us lots of recommendations on things to do around and helped us book activities like cooking classes and hikes. The bedroom was comfortable and clean, AC available. Nice outdoor terrace to socialise. Good location, heaps of shops and restaurants around. Definitely recommend.

Excellent location and staff!! Apart from the room that was super comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated; the STAFF 🙌. They have been super gentle and helpful since the moment I arrived. They helped me to book transportation to go to Chiang Rai and Pai (I thought it was easier, but if you don't book in advance you can't find public transport for these destinations spontaneously). They even helped me and made me feel super safe by reorganising a part of my trip because of the transportation issue mentioned before. They made me place to stay an extra night since I had to make last minute changes. I highly recommend this place and I will come back for sure!

Super friendly and helpful staff, clean, great value, very spacious, great location near the thae pae gate walking distance to both the old town and the night bazaar, good wifi, the shower has hot water, the AC works really well, and the owner has a cute dog that stays in the reception throughout the day <33 I was originally placed in a room with windows, but the street sounds really bothered me, and the owner was very sympathetic and offered to move me into a quieter room without windows

You get what you pay for, the building is old so there isn’t sound insulation and you can hear street noise and noise from the hallway (especially if you have a room with windows), there is a slight damp/mold smell that goes away when you turn on the AC, the bathroom has a stronger mold smell, the king mattress is two twin mattresses next to eachother, and you can feel the springs on the mattress so it isn’t the most comfortable. But overall this place works well for a short stay and is great if you’re on a budget but want a private room & bathroom, just don’t expect it to be like a 5 star hotel

The room had big windows with mosquito nets, was clean and had everything we needed. Moreover, there are fridges, a kettle, drinking water and a microwave in the entrance hall for everyone to share. The owner was very friendly and had good advice for the region.

The lady at the reception doesn’t speak English very well, so there was a misunderstanding with our booking. We wanted to book another night but she didn’t understand. In the end, the boss handled it very well and booked a room in a big hotel nearby for us.

The owners are very nice and the location is superb without having too much noise from center. But remember you are booking a 2 star guest house not a five star hotel. If you like a cosy place with character nice owners and central location thisnis great.

Well, i liked it overall but I knew what I booked. It is a nice guesthouse in oldtown at a wonderful location but don't expect 5 star hotel. Do expect nice owners and employees whonwill take good care of you..

I loved my stay here. It was my first stop in Thailand so I wanted to be comfortable. The location was great, right next to the old city and super close to many night markets. I really appreciate that the owner put in some effort to decorate the room, some pieces of art, and nice lamp. So many rooms in Thailand are just white walls, a mattress and one bright overheard light. I arrived late and the owner provided me with very clear instructions on how to get my key and check in. It was great to not have to stress about this after a long journey. There is also a cafe onsite, I didn’t eat there but it’s a nice convenient option. I would definitely stay again!

What’s not to like about this hotel. I never leave reviews when i have a bad experience so if i am leaving one now it’s because it was my best hotel experience at the end of my 2 months travelling Thailand. So much that i have stayed 2 weeks there! It’s clean it’s comfortable and affordable. The staff is a cream, always nice and helpful. I loved the room, I slept well, they have some art like paintings hanging on the wall, it has some style. The lady boss is great and professional and speak good English. I will go again

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The owners are incredibly kind and helpful – they went above and beyond, offering great advice on places to visit and things to do. The room was clean, equipped with amenities like AC, water, coffee, and tea. The only hiccup was a slight drain odor, but I mentioned it to the owners, and they were attentive. Despite that, I wholeheartedly recommend this place for a delightful stay. Big thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Room was clean and comfortable bed, air conditioning was good and our room was cleaned. Staff were incredible letting us check in at 5am after a night train which was basically life changing. Also returned back a motorcycle we hired when we’re weren’t able too- returning our full deposit to us. Cheap laundry (30 baht). Location is very central. The host and receptionist are so helpful with any recommendations or assistance you may need at all. We spent 5 nights here because of this and I would highly recommend it.

For me the location was perfect. The owners and manager were just wonderfully nice people and so welcoming. The room was small but I didn’t need it any bigger and it was clean and tidy. Despite being quite central I couldn’t hear much noise from outside. It was exactly what I need as a sleeping base and I liked it so much I’ve booked it again on my route back through Chiang mai
