The housekeeping and restaurant staff were very professional, kind, and well trained. Breakfast was good with many options. Had dinner at their restaurant, Varee three days in a row. The location is close enough to motorbike or taxi to the center and walkable to the Blue Temple. There's a charming dessert shop with delicious pastries called Esther's. Within a 10 minute walk through the back entrance of the Blue Temple onto the main road and then a left. Something you'd see in New York, Tokyo, or Paris. But instead in charming Chiang Rai. Worth a visit.

Construction. The hotel has a major contruction site next to it. The property sells itself as calm, quiet, relaxing in a serene location. Which it is until the pounding noise begins and takes away those key elements. The front reception area felt like an office space and approaching the staff felt like you were distrubing them while they worked in their office. Was a bit impersonal.

A relatively new hotel. Room comfortable, looking out to the river. Breakfast is very good. Close to the blue temple (5 min walk). Bazaar is further off (short taxi ride). We used Grab for taxi which is convenient. We find that Chaing Rai people may not speak good English. Staff gave us info on tours and we did private tour with Black Dragon tours. Very nice. Nice restaurant within walking distance (also by the river).

Swimming pool outdoors is long and narrow, but it is not heated. Water is cold when we visited in January.

The room and bathroom were large and well arranged. Breakfast was very good in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The spa was nice. Personnel was helpful and was able to arrange private driver for the following day at reasonable price.

You see the tear and wear in little things - but all in all it was good. Pool was in the shade in the afternoon - but nice anyway. Personnel asked twice upon checkout if I had taken something out of minibar and sent someone up to the room to check all was ok before letting me go…

The hotel is lovely, the rooms were amazingly comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. The spa was great we had a really good Thai massage. The breakfast in the hotel had a good spread and could get fresh eggs/omelettes.

Unfortunately there was construction going on beside the hotel and it rained the two days we were there which both things were out of the hotels control but took away from the experience. However I still used the pool which was not clean enough at all. We had dinner in the hotel one night and we were one of only 2 couples there and the staff stood around staring at us waiting for us to order which made us uncomfortable. Also when we were booking the table they made it clear they were done at 10pm so would not let us book a table later than 9pm. We felt that for a 4 star resort they should have been a bit more accommodating for us.

We booked the family room for 3 people, it was very spacious. Two toilets made getting ready in the morning a breeze.

We ate twice in the hotel restaurant. We don’t like to drink cold water, so we asked for hot water, they charged us for 3 cups of hot water. I ordered a Thai milk tea, they used too much milk for my taste. Since we couldn’t removed the milk, I asked for a little bit more tea to be added, they charged another 40 THB. I should’ve returned the tea and have them redo it to be taste! Their restaurant was not cheap of OK foods yet they charge you for every small request!

The spa facilities have to be booked at one hour prior. When we went up the spa area to see the setting, it’s closed! Hotel reception told us we have to book n no walk in!! The hotel faces the Kok River. Should do up n improve the river deck so that guests can enjoy. Wished the pool could be heated especially for the winter months which is also the peak season!!

Being a (very) frequent traveller, I put emphasis in comparing newly developed hotel project across the world. The Riva Vista sticks out from among comparable developments. Although the area, where it is located, might not seem the most attractive on the first sight, on the second sight you will realize that given the location the tranquility will outweigh a central location in downtown Chiang Rai. And indeed, everything important is within a reasonably short driving distance, the magnificent Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) even within a 5-6 mins walking distance from the hotel. What absolutely sticks out, is the architectural and design concept of Riva Vista, the amazing riverfront garden and the incredible restaurant. Both for the breakfast choice, as well as for a la carte dining options the restaurant offers real haute cuisine style of experience. Truly amazing! The whole feeling is rounded up by the beuatifully designed, comfortable and spacious rooms, with panoramic bathrooms. Basement rooms even have direct access to the pool from the room. The efforts and friendliness of the hotel staff are also a clear assett, but given the higher range (star-categorization) of the property, this is almost self-evident at stylish hotels in Thailand. Being a great fan of such contemporary boutique hotel concepts I wish to express my highest appreciation to the owners, authors and the management of this outstanding hotel concept.

Just the fact the stay was so short. Chian Rai and area is worth a stay of at least 4-5 days.

Absolutely stunning new luxury hotel on the riverfront in Chiang Rai! Staff were spectacular, extremely warm and welcoming with complimentary refreshments on check in, followed by a short tour on arrival so we could take in the sights and discover the facilities before being shown to our room. Room was beautifully appointed, with a huge bathroom and a sunken tub looking out over the river. Beds were super comfy and the room was spacious enough for a comfy sitting area as well as two beds and a desk. Massive windows opening onto a small balcony again with fabulous views. Restaurant had sooo many options for breakfast that we didn't even know where to begin, but everything was well prepared with local and Western food options. Pool looked pristine, and there were plenty of seating options to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere. Just a gorgeous gorgeous hotel and so well appointed. Super convenient location, very short drive to the airport! Short walk from the hotel to Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple), and a VERY short walk to Chivit Thamma Da coffee house/restaurant. Bicycles are also available on site if you want to explore the local area. Town centre and White and Gold Temples fairly close by car as well.

Lighting options were fun, but so many light switches! Beware of mosquitoes as the sun goes down

What a beautiful hotel. We had a king room overlooking the river. It was amazing. We stayed two nights on the other side of the river prior and it was lovely to stay in the calm by the river as well. It is a three minute walk to the blue temple and we rode the complimentary bikes around the neighbourhood. The staff were wonderful and the pool was incredible with comfy loungers and tons of space. We would stay here again without fail.

Flash flood hit the hotel, and we had to move our after 1 night (booked 4 nights). We were shifted to Grand Vista Chiang Rai but it wasn't communicated well on the room arrangement for the money we paid compared to Riva Vista. Transfer was poorly managed
