Location was perfect, room was clean and spacious. It was replenished with fresh towels and toiletries daily. My partner very much enjoyed the bath which we have found to be a rarity across Thailand. Decent view from our room across town on the 5th floor. Kettle and fridge in the room was a plus too. Breakfast was okay, decent mix of Thai and western options. Staff were very welcoming offering a drink upon arrival and made us feel at ease in the morning and evenings. The doorman brought our bags in for us too which was a lovely touch. Bed was big and comfy and there were extra pillows in the wardrobe with robes and slippers too.

As with other reviews, this hotel is dated like most in Chiang Rai apparently. It was giving 90’s. Breakfast could have done with more drinks/juice options and more fruit/yoghurt options as well. Not enough sockets in the bedrooms, there were 2 in the room, one for the kettle and one for the tv. Would like to see this brought up to modern day as most people charge phones, watches, etc. overnight. Furthermore, as we had a road facing room, there was a bit of noise from bars during the night but not enough to disrupt our stay.

Knowing Chiang Rai is an older city with few updated hotels we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of the hotel. Yes it could use some updating but nothing to complain about. Just know you’re going to a less modernized area when going to Chiang Rai and you won’t be disappointed. The bed was more firm which we were nervous about when we felt it, and it ended up being just what our backs needed. We had the best sleep and woke up feeling fabulous. The breakfast buffet was fresh with plenty of options. The location is close to everything. And free parking is very easy & convenient. Something to think about, We enjoyed Chiang Rai more then Chiang Ma.

I can say that any time I come to Chiang Rai I'd stay here at the Wangcome Hotel. Many friends ask me why. My simple answer is they have the same respect for me as a valued customer. They don't treat me lowly because I'm a Thai and they have other western or non-Thai clients. No. I always love this reception and the fact that they have been around for a long time, meaning that they have survived all the odds, including the pandemic. In fact, I think I've used their service for a little more than 15 years now, and will still continue going back there. In sum, I love their breakfast buffet, the comfy beds, excellent shower pressure (and hot water--almost instantly), and, most of all, their wonderful service--always in bright smiles and I always get informative answers from the efficient staff.

The decor of the interior may look a bit worn out (but not inside the room). Also, it'd be nice if they have a fitness center (what I did was to walk around the hotel for 1 hour after dinner--and I could get a glimpse of the nearby Jet Yord temple too).

Great location. My room was very big and the bed was comfortable. Some people have given the beds bad reviews but they were great for me. I had a great nights sleep. AC good. Bathroom clean and bathtub was very comfortable to lay down in and relax

Make sure you ask for a room that's not facing the bars or restaurants. It's very loud. I asked to switch rooms and they did it with no issue. Breakfast was very basic and not very good but their Thai style coffee is great!

The Wangcome Hotel is always a very nice place to visit, it has a pleasant "Big Hotel" atmosphere with very friendly staff and service. The parking is very spacious, easy to get to and right outside the entrance. They serve a great breakfast selection and the rooms are usually very quiet and roomy with good TV channels.

The rooms are getting a little bit dated now but I find that very attractive ... lots of atmosphere!

The location was great, very close to the bus station and night market. The hotel has a nostalgic vibe, however our room was well maintained and clean. We loved the breakfast. Overall excellent value for money.

The beds were quite hard. We booked a twin room, and ended up with a king sized bed. The bed was so big it didn’t bother us.

Large room that has a central hot water system. Even the faucet has hot water. This is important when the mornings are 10 degrees Celsius. . Wangcome is an older hotel in ChiangRai but still good. It has cable TV like the Golf channel and international news. Plenty of parking.

No safety box in the room. But you can deposit your belongings at the hotel safety box. It can be a bit noisy depending where your room window is. The area has a lot of bars, restaurants, etc. The breakfast should have better coffee.
