The staff were super welcoming and hospitable at all times. They really worked hard to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, helping us booking a taxi to the pier, and renting a car, which in Koh Phangan can be a bit of a challenge. The breakfast was superb. It is not the standard breakfast buffet you would find at other accommodations. Instead they had a menu with different dishes you could choose from and as much as you wanted, so great if you are into brunching. Breakfast is open from 9 am to 5 pm. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, so the only thing you can really hear is the sound of bird chirping and some house cats walking around with their bells. The sea view was breathtaking even from a partial sea view bungalow.

Beware that depending on the location of your bungalow you might have to climb more or less stairs, so if accessibility is something important for you, this might not be the best place to stay. The bathroom does not have a separation between shower and WC, which is quite common for this sort of architecture. We were fine with it as the floor dried up quite quickly after each shower. Other than that, very top accommodation for the price-performance ratio.

The staff and service were great. They are all nice, attentive and go out of their way. The hotel overall is very nice, with a gorgeous view, nice pool area and pretty good food at the restaurant. Location is good, 4 mins from Zen Beach. Like other hotels in the area, there is A LOT of going up and down stairs in order to get to your room, let alone the beach. The hotel doesn't have a very usable beach, but if you walk down a couple of minutes there are nice beaches and a few mins away you can find Zen Beach. There are a few nice cats roaming the grounds, which is always fun.

The resort bungalows are spread out over the rocky hill, and I had the beach front bungalow nr 2. So be prepared for walking many stairs if you wish to stay close to the beach. Luckily, there is a bike renting at the front of the resort, which is highly recommended if you wish to experience other beaches, which is a must, due to the bad condition of the local beach. I liked Salad Beach the best for its beautiful tropical outlook and also because it was quite easy to walk on the sand up to the reef for snorkeling. Breakfast in the resort is a la carte and is served all day long by the very attentive and friendly staff. The chief cook is fantastic and you can have a very good dinner as well, especially with Thai food. The bungalow size is very nice, and the mattress and pillows are comfortable, a good sleep is guaranteed. Although I felt wonderful at Zama and had a lovely time there, the second time i would choose my staying at Salad Beach.

The beach in front of the resort is full of rocks and almost impossible for swimming, especially at low tide. Reaching the reef with corals and tropical fishes is very, very difficult. I tried my luck one day and was rewarded with a beautiful view of tropical fishes. This difficulty of walking inside the water is actually the case with other beaches in the north-west of the island as well, and beach shoes are actually a must have items. If you wish to experience better and easier from the beach snorkeling, choose Koh Tao as your island destination.

Staff were very very friendly and attentive. They are the real plus to the hotel. The partial sea view bungalow was really a full view to be honest, which was a nice surprise. Food in the restaurant was very good too and the cocktails were fairly priced and tasty. The view from the pool was incredible!

The room was clean. But the whole public area just needs a bit of TLC. There were missing tiles in the swimming pool. The pool area was a bit unclean. Just needs attention to detail and a lick of paint. Unfortunately whilst we were not expecting a 4 star resort, the cleaning required would mean we would not return. But this is a real simple fix and really the only thing that let the hotel down.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, incredible ocean view, extremely clean, excellent location, has a little private beach, delicious food. Great for Solo travellers and couples. I stayed there 10 days and I felt at home. The staff goes the extra mile Every day. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants and massage venues nearby. 5-minute walk to Secret Beach. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed on my life. Thank you Zama Resort! I’ll be back!

The shower pressure and temperature were perfect but there’s no courtain or glass separation. Not a big issue really.

The pool area and view from the uphill located hotel is marvellous and calming. The restaurant area is very cozy, nicely decorated and spacious. The breakfast was included and prepared with love. Dinner was also very delicious at the restaurant and there is a happy hour between 5-7 pm with 40% discount on cocktails and beer. The beds are very comfortable in the rooms are very clean. The Aircon was neither very quiet nor it was too loud but you can hear it, it was still fine for a good sleep. You can catch a public taxi at the street. The personnel is superb :-) would definitely stay here again!

The Bungalows als surrounded by a lot of nature and the animals and insects wake up at 6 am. If you are a sensitive sleeper, your sleep might be disturbed. Just be ready for some sounds of nature.

This is such a cozy hotel. The staff is superb, they do a great job making you feel at home. The restaurant serves very good food and the a la carte breakfast is just perfect. View from the restaurant overlooking the swimming pool with the sea in the background is really nice. The ocean view cottage (we had no. 1) is lovely with a large veranda. We stayed 4 nights and had a great time and would definitely return.

Try to get an ocean view cottage, our kids had a pool view which is a bit more basic. We really liked our cottage but indeed, the bathroom is slightly outdated.

We stayed in a room with a partial sea view — the balcony and the view were truly beautiful. The entire resort, including the room, was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. You can make the room completely dark, which is great if you like to sleep in. The staff was absolutely lovely and kind. While you often hear that service in Thailand is good, here it really stood out and made the whole experience even better. One very nice feature is that breakfast can be served until 5 PM (!), and both the breakfast and the restaurant food were very tasty. They also provide 6 (!) bottles of mineral water in the room every day, which is a really nice touch.

The beach in front of the resort is quite rocky, so you need to walk a bit to find a nicer spot.

The staff here was very nice and very attentive. The restaurant was excellent. Being right on the beach was nice. I was in the very last room on the walk down to the beach so I was literally on the sand. Amazing view at night. Very quiet.

I don't think there's anything I didn't like. But it should be noted this isn't a five star hotel. No judgments. But it's older and a little bit rough around the edges. Not crazy rough but older. And it's quite a hike up and down the stairs inside the resort. So if you are someone who has mobility issues this is not a place for you. But with that said it was a nice place.

We had a romantic seaview bungalow (no.19) and the view of the sea was spectacular, over lush greens you can see sunset and the beautiful sea. Some pros: - room cleaning is twice a day, in the evening they bring cookies with pineapple jam that we really enjoyed; - umbrellas are provided both in the bungalow and restaurant/reception (we did use them because 4 of our 6 nights at the resort was heavy rain; - 6 water bottles provided daily; - mosquito repellent available in your bungalow and restaurant/reception; - very friendly and helpful staff; - breakfast included in our room - the only resort we stayed which provided breakfast until 5 PM (finally we could sleep in!) and the breakfast you can choose from restaurant breakfast menu, they serve that with fresh seasonal fruits and fresh juice; the resort's restaurant Nahm Talay is very good! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would like to come back in a slightly sunnier time to also enjoy the beautiful pool with a view and see more of the island.

A bit of small things that made our stay not so perfect: - our bungalow was adjacent to next one and the walls are quite thin, you can hear what the neighbours are doing :) - the shower could be supplemented with a shower curtain, I really do not understand how one can comfortably shower without making all the floor and surroundings wet; - there could be more hangers for towels; - small space for toiletries in bathroom; - the terrace floor is made of boards with large gaps - you have to be careful not to drop your things under the bungalow (height over 2m); - not a lot of activities around, have to take a taxi or motorbike; - the resort does not have a direct white sand beach access.
