Amara Beach Resort was located on a beautiful and quiet beach. The sunsets are amazing and there are several places to eat and drink along the beach. There is a 7/11 next door to the hotel and you can rent a scooter opposite. The bedroom was clean and the air-con worked well. The pool was good.

The bathroom could do with being updated slightly, the toilet seat was not secure but this wasn’t a big issue!

Very clean room. Great beach! Good location, many good cafes right next to the hotel. Nice breakfast and coffee. Hotel staff very nice helpful with scooters, diving, etc. Great value for money

Room decor is pretty old. Not a nice view from the room windows. Pool is not fun to stay in.

My partner and I felt right at home staying at Amara resort and loved relaxing in the bar and restaurant. We had a pool side room for 3 days initially but ended up extending to 6 we loved it here so much. The location itself is perfect… right on the beach with deck chairs to enjoy, amazing sunset views and amongst some other great restaurants to eat too! The food and cocktails were delicious! We went for the buffet breakfast with our accommodation and were super happy we did. There was a choice of Continental or hot breakfast with eggs cooked to your taste. The staff were so friendly. You could tell it was a great place to work. We loved the warm welcomes, good morning and smiles from all the staff, whilst they still respected our privacy when we were in the pool or on our verandah. We are queer couple travelling and would absolutely recommend Amaras as a queer friendly establishment. We would 100% come and stay here again.

The bed was a little hard for my taste, but that seems common in Thailand.

This resort was ideally located in Haad Yao close to the main beach and very modern spacious rooms with a lap pool close to the onsite restaurant overlooking the beach itself, where food and drinks were served at reasonable prices The double bed was one of softest and comfiest beds I have slept in whilst travelling Asia which was very much appreciated. There was a 7 Eleven store walking distance close by as well as a few cafes and restaurants which was very handy. Staff were very polite and very helpful in organising my return trip back with taxi and ferry tickets back to Koh Samui Airport that made everything very easy and very seamless. I would be more than happy to return here as I found the location very appealing as it is more relaxed vibe on the North West side of Koh Phangan away from the young party goers in the south. Tip: For those looking for a more peaceful holiday. Make sure you don't arrive on Full Moon Beach party day (held once a month) as the crowds and ferries / transport is chaotic on arrival on Koh Phangan and very hard to find any motos to hire anywhere on the island. Better to stay 2 days after this event when everything goes much quieter,

The room has an adjoining door (to open up if staying with families) to the other room which unfortunately doesn't insulate the noise from the other people as I was unfortunate to have other guests staying and talking late into the night and early hours of the morning during my stay. A limited buffet breakfast was included every morning with the room which it was cooked a little bit too greasy for my liking (omelettes / scrambled eggs / bacon etc including cereals and fruits). I found it too repetitive to eat every day so chose another restaurant to eat for breakfast/brunch for more variety.

When we were leaving at 11:45 (booking check-out was 12:00) the receptionist knoking our room and directly say us that she will keep our caution (1000bath) because we're late, she said that che check out must be at 11:00. After some discussions we received our money back, but the receptionist was very rude with us.

Great location right on the beach and near other restaurants. 7/11 next door. The room was spacious. The bed is extremely comfortable. AC works well. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant is excellent and friendly. The restaurant has decent food. I also enjoyed the free breakfast with custom omelette.

The Wifi did not work well in my room. The tiles in the bathroom were very dirty and moldy. It needs to be deep cleaned and fixed and then it would truly be worth the price!

Fabulous location on Haad Yao Beach, beautiful property and rooms, super comfy beds, great breakfast, friendly and lovely staff. I have returned to stay here more than once and always enjoyed it very much.

For sure the owner cares about the property, which is quite new after one month and a half in Thailand. The rooms are clean, light and really nice, with super soft mattresses and pillows! The room is equipped with everything needed. Owner and staff are kind and available for requests. Breakfast is tasty with a lot of options! And you can eat at the beach, which is very quite during day and night. Restaurant is expensive, but very tasty and refined. There is also free pick up service at the pier for the arrival.

We had to stay in the room for more time than expected, therefore the problem with the WiFi not working in our room was annoying, even though the staff tried to solve it. The WC wasn’t flushing properly, and the drain cleaner was useless due to the size difference. Until midnight there is music coming from the disco on the hill (you will notice the purple lights) but for us it wasn’t a big deal.

Location was great, just by the beach. Room was comfortable. Staff was helpful. Restaurant prices was very good. Wifi worked very well.

The room had a door which is connecting the room to the next door. There was a lot of noise coming from the next room because of that thin door. Toilet had a problem about getting rid of all the stuff so there was a lot of water and time waste

What a gem of a place! I had an amazing stay at the lovely Amara Beach Resort in Haad Yao, Koh Phangan. I enjoyed it so much that I extended and extended my stay, not wanting to go anywhere else. I will begin by mentioning the very lovely, friendly, helpful and attentive staff, who made my stay so pleasant and welcoming. From the wonderful manager Michaela to reception, housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, restaurant and kitchen staff, I really felt so well looked after by all. I love, love, love the beachfront location on this very beautiful beach, as well as being so close to a shop, laundry and a variety of food options. There is also a great onsite restaurant and the fantastic buffet breakfast is a real highlight. The rooms are extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, with all amenities and services you may need (fridge, mini bar, kettle, great air con, excellent WiFi, warm shower, safety box, terrace/balcony, daily housekeeping). The beds deserve a special mention, because they really are so very comfy! You can also easily arrange taxi transfers and fantastic tours and day trips through reception. The pool and grounds are maintained really well and there is a very lovely atmosphere and feeling being here. I always felt so very safe, easeful, comfortable and cared for. I am truly grateful for my stay at Amara and delighted to share my heartfelt recommendation.
