The resort is at a great location on Kai Bae beach, surrounded by lots of restaurants, shops and bars. The resort was very peaceful and the owners and staff were very welcoming, making us feel at home. Breakfast was good and the pool was welcoming after a hot day. The resort is not far from the beach with its beautiful warm sea. Would definitely recommend the Garden Resort, you can book with confidence. Hoping to be back one day. We really liked our stay at Garden Resort. The rooms are super comfy and spacious, the beds are soooo nice and soft 🤩 Rooms are equipped with a large fridge, coffee/tea/water and a smart tv with netflix and a large selection of movies and series. The (salt water) pool is very clean and spacious. Enough beds and pool towels are provided. The second night we changed rooms to a pool view room which seemed to have a bigger bed than the garden view room so that was nice! (Although not sure why there’s a difference) There is a 7/11 around the corner that is open 24/7 which is very convenient. Also lots of nice restaurants in the area. We did not have breakfast here so can not judge about that.

Just some small things that could be improved is that the bathroom was not super clean. There was kind of a bad smell and the shower drain was very filthy. When we used the bathroom at nighttime we could see quite a few cockroaches run off. Which I guess is inevitable in hot and humid countries but still not really what you want to experience when you go pee at night 😅

Can absolutely understand the high rating for this fabulous little boutique hotel right in Kai Bae. Could not fault anything about our stay. The owners and the resort team were friendly, welcoming and really made the whole experience enjoyable. Spotless (and spacious) room with a comfortable bed, fridge, TV, safe and outdoor area with seating. Well laid out bungalows in a beautiful tropical setting (mix of pool view / garden view), relaxing pool (with shallow and deep areas and a waterfall feature), and delicious cooked to order breakfast available (as well as fruit, toast, cereal, freshly ground bean coffee & juice). Location is fantastic. Close to everything you need restaurants, bars, 7-11, laundry, motorcycle/car rental, tour operators etc) and only a 5 minute walk to the beach to take in gorgeous sunsets. On Sundays in the high season, the owner also plays a few tunes at the bar and that was a really chill way to start a Sunday evening. Definitely recommended and very much looking forward to returning again!!

Mause is a great host and the rest of the staff were friendly always with a smile on their face. The resort itself is quiet, set back from the main road with beautiful gardens. The pool is small but incredibly clean and in a fantastic setting. The highlight of each day was the breakfast. Hot food cooked to order - my favourite the pad kaprow was fantastic. There was also a bean to cup coffee machine which I understand is quite rare at other breakfast buffets on the island.

Not a negative for me but the bungalows are basic but that suited my needs perfectly. The lock on my door needed replacing but this was done very quickly by one of the friendly staff.

The owner is extremely friendly / witty and great knowledge of the island. He even arranged a birthday cake for my father’s birthday we were celebrating there!! Pool is immaculately clean, bedrooms cleaned everyday and lovely hot water showers. Amazing tv and over 2000 movies and shows to watch! BEDS WERE THE MOST COMFORTABLE out of any hotel I have slept in (and I have slept in hundreds of hotels). Both myself and my parents said we were sleeping incredibly. Great quality breakfast in the mornings, cereal, Nutella, toast, omelettes etc. 5 minute walk to the beach, 1 minute walk to 7/11 and restaurants / bars. But the huts are tucked away making it very quiet and tranquil.

From the first moment of arriving “Mouse” greeted us and made us feel very welcome, showed us the facilities and how everything works and with a great sense of humour made our stay outstanding.

Lovely little boutique hotel. 😃 Mousse is the owner is very friendly, gives you good advice and has a good sense of humour. In fact all of the team are super friendly and do not stop smiling. Lovely large bungalow, which is really well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Really nice comfy bed pillows and bedding. Great selection for breakfast all cooked to order. The most comfortable sunbeds, in fact the most comfortable in our 3 week trip. I would definitely stay here again if I was to go back to KC.

The arms of the outside chairs could do with a scrub and the pads need changing as they are a little bit thin showing their age.

This was a lovely resort, along the main strip but rooms set back in the scenic gardens, so you could enjoy a quiet night's sleep. Our rooms were pleasant and I was particularly impressed with how comfortable the beds and pillows were, more of those of a 5-star resort. The pool was nice and shaded in parts which always helps, and if you needed any support or help staff or owner Mouse) were always there to help. Mouse is quite a character, and I enjoyed listening to how he developed the property and some of the pitfalls to be wary off if doing anything similar oneself, e.g. like building a house. Breakfast was excellent, good coffee and freshly made food along with a small buffet selection. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed the Garden Resort and can highly recommend this place.

We had a really enjoyable 4 night stay at Garden Resort. Mouse (the owner) and his staff made our stay very pleasurable. The chalets are comfortable, set in a quiet relaxing garden environment and some have the very deep salt water pool almost at their door! The breakfast is also good, making a great start to each day. Kai Bae has a beautiful beach only 150 metres walk. Many cafes, shops, 7-Eleven and restaurants near the resort. Should you have any special mobility requirements such as wheel chairs or baby strollers, be aware the property has steps and some uneven pathways. Mouse provides the entertainment on Sunday nights in the Backstage bar on guitar. I think David Gilmour would be impressed! Rock-on Mouse! We highly recommend staying at Garden Resort and will definitely stay again when next visiting Koh Chang.

We had an amazing stay at Garden Resort Koh Chang! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Kai Bae, but it’s so peaceful and quiet you’d never know. The beautiful garden and inviting pool create a relaxing oasis. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. Mause, the owner, is incredibly helpful and made our stay extra special. We were lucky to catch his Sunday night concert—he’s fantastic on the guitar (he even impressed the teenagers!). The little resident dog, cat, and chicken also added so much charm, and the staff were always super friendly and full of smiles.
