As a couple who didn't know what to expect at all.. heres a breakdown of our experience for others who are also unsure. You arrive to a cafe (they give details close to booking date) where you are escorted onto a tail boat. The boat trip was about half an hour where you can take in all the incredible views. After this, you are welcomed to see your room. Please note, you are only allowed to use electricity in your room from the hours 17:00 - 08:00. And yes, this included AC! That said, it doesn't matter too much, you have a couple hours to have lunch (which they provide) and take a free kayak around to see some views and animals in their natural wild habitat. At approx. 17:00hrs you take your first 1 hour tail boat ride to see the sunset. Dinner is served on return. Please note, you do not choose what you eat, it might be worth notifying them before if you have allergies or take your own food/snacks. We chose to play cards and have a cold drink on our balcony before heading to bed. Please note, the huts are NOT sturdy so if you get sea sick, this might not be the best option for you. There is a second 1 hour boat trip which sets off at around 6am. Here, you get to watch sun rise which is just absolutely incredibly! As we only stayed for one night, we were shipped off back to the cafe on a 9am boat. Overall, this place is like NO other! It felt like a once in a lifetime experience and was one of our most adored after travelling all of Thailand. Do not doubt booking this, it is no 5 star hotel but it certainly is 5 star memory! Can not compare to other places we have ever stayed. No complaints.

We spent one night at the lake, which was absolutely enough for us. The lake is very touristy, there are dozens of raft hotels and dozens of boats. Panvaree consists of a row of raft bungalows, we stayed in the left part called Panvaree Resort (the right part is called Panvaree The Greenery). The programme at Panvaree Resort looked like this: - At 11:15-11:30, we checked-in at Bai Pat Rim Keon restaurant located 20 meters from the Cheow Lan Pier (also called Ratchaprapha Pier). The restaurant can be found on Google Maps by typing ร้านอาหารใบพัดริมเขื่อน + it has a sign of Panvaree at the entrance. We paid the full amount for our stay in cash + a service fee to access the pier + an entrance fee to the national park to the Panvaree staff member at the restaurant. If you do a night walk in Khao Sok on the previous day, your national park ticket is also valid for the one-night stay on the lake. - A boat from Panvaree took us from the pier to the rafts (about 40 minutes). - We checked-in in our rooms + had a basic lunch. You can use free kayaks to go north along the lake shore. - There were two boat trips included in the price - at 17:00-18:00 to the western part of the lake and at 6:30-7:30 in the morning to the northern part. The evening trip was way more interesting than the morning one. In the morning, we tried to spot wild elephants and hornbills. There were dozens of other boats, and the noise of their motors was quite unbearable not only for the tourists but also for the animals. We did see some movement in the dense vegetation (an invisible elephant was feeding there) and a pair of hornbills very high in the trees (you need a 600mm lens or good binoculars to see them clearly). - We had a decent dinner at 18:30-19:00 and a breakfast around 8:00. - At 8:30 we departed back to the pier, where we left our rental car.

The hotel is in a stunning location. Mountains and Lake are great. By hotel. He's a little old, but clean. It's a bit authentic and I liked it. Very caring staff. Three meals are included in the price. Free kayaks are available for swimming on the Lake. Excursions are simple. Boat riding on the Lake. Sewage closed and waste not merged into water. You can swim right near the House on the water.

- sometimes slow to respond but i know they have mobile reception at the location and other support staff - old and in need of maintenance - numerous people have complained why one chair for a room that can fit 4 - aspects of cabin and outdoor bathroom in disrepair - not 100% clear that your cabin is split on the middle by a wall with adjoining guests and you can hear everything. Normally i wouldn't mind but clearly there was a loud passionate 'group activity' happening with the 3 men next door at 4am - almost 0 commentary on the 'tours'

Not necessarily a negative - we booked the only option available at the time and thought we had booked a bungalow (might not have read the info properly but noting for others booking). The room we had though was nice and the view was stunning - didn’t impact our stay. Just make sure you know what you are booking before your visit.

I have about 60 years of traveling experience, accumulated since I was a young child traveling with my parents and younger brother. In all those years, there are many, many places I have experienced which have been particularly memorable. That said, there have been only a handful of accommodations which have been made a distinct impression on me. Panvaree Resort is one of them. Everything about it... the setting, the staff, the meals, the room, the activities one can engage in... far exceeded my expectations. I cannot Panvaree Resort recommend too highly.

My only disappointment was a lack of clear communication about the 1:00pm afternoon excursion offered every day. It was described to me as a hike. Which I took to mean we would be given an allotted time frame to explore on our own. It was actually a visit to Pakarang Cave. And participants were expected to stay with the group. It was definitely worthwhile. But I had to adjust my understanding of what was happening on the fly as the activity got underway, due to a lack of clarity provided ahead of time. I've written all this not to complain in the slightest. But in hopes that others might not experience the lack of clarity which I did.

Paradise on earth! We booked a small room with a view on the mountains. However, the staff changed our room to a private bungalow with a view on the lake without any additional costs! We can only recommend this magical place!

The views!!!!!!! Never seen anything so beautiful in my life. And the staff was so friendly, we even took pictures together. Everything as in the pictures and even better. Plus we went on the morning your and saw an elephant family and monkeys. Magical experience.

The amazing nature! The scenery! Top! Location on the lake was something one must experience! Beautiful! Room literally on the water! Truly Wowww! And also Benny, who gave a great service and personal attention to me at all times! Truly thankful 🩵 she makes the place!

The room is very basic (yet super expensive). The shower / bathroom smelled like urine. (Although they made some effort to clean it for me) Air condition and electricity from 6 pm to 6 am. (Not horrible, but could have been nice to have it at all times) No internet in the room (only in restaurant, and not a good signal at all) (but that was ok too to disconnect for a while and just be in nature) The room is moving a bit, since it is on the water. Too expensive for what it is given. If it cost half I wouldn’t say a thing. Maybe only about the bad smell in the restroom. Food and trips were included, yet still wayyy too expensive for what you get. Service was excellent 🙏

We think this may be the best location of all of the floating hotels on the lake. The views from the rooms and the restaurant are mesmerizing. Our two night booking included free use of the kayaks, swimming off the deck, an afternoon sight seeing boat ride, a morning wildlife and sight seeing boat ride and an afternoon boat ride to the end of the lake where we hiked up a trail to a lagoon, then boarded bamboo rafts to access another trail to an old Buddha cave. Every excursion was spectacular. Staff were all wonderful and the included meals were all delicious traditional Thai offerings.
