Our stay at Khao Sok River Camp was an amazing experience. The spacious riverside huts offered the perfect spot to see the local wildlife like groups of nutria, a caiman, and lots of colorful birds. With only a few huts and therefore few guests, the camp maintained a tranquil atmosphere. It was wonderful to wake up by the sounds of macaques and exotic birds each morning. But the real highlight was the hospitality of the hosts. Three elder people took meticulous care of us, ensuring we always had delicious meals, fresh laundry (for only a few bath / kilo), and even a free ride to town whenever needed. A simple WhatsApp message was all it took, and within five minutes, they were there to assist us.

What about offering a cooking course just like the Black Stone Cafe does? It would be amazing to learn how you prepare the good food.

The property is surrounded by nature, with a river right in front of the rooms — so peaceful and beautiful. It’s a little far from town, but they have a restaurant, sell a few drinks and snacks, and even offer transport to town. They can also help you organize tours and arrange transport to other cities, which made everything so convenient. The staff are incredibly friendly, especially DawThararat, she is so helpful and always ready to assist without even being asked. She’s always aware of guests’ needs and quick to help as soon as she notices. I will definitely be back soon. I loved everything about this place!

Just keep in mind that if you want your room cleaned, you need to request it.

So much to like about Khaosok River Camp, it is a little out of town but the staff will drop off and pick up…with this in mind we loved the peaceful chilled location away from the touristy busyness of the main strip. Lovely big room, comfy bed and pillows and everything a good standard of cleanliness. Lots of wildlife to listen to and see, which we loved. Staff were so helpful and friendly, particularly on our last day when our prepaid minivan didn’t show…helped us to book another and drive us down to minivan depot. Food was great and very reasonably priced. I concur with a previous reviewer that the breakfast pancakes were amazing…we had mixed fruit and they were super fluffy and tasty.

We felt that a couple of things would help to practically improve things in the room, such a providing a few hangers and more hooks to hang things on. Also, given the size of the room it would have been good to have bedside tables and a reading lamp on both sides of bed rather than just one.

What a lovely, quiet place and such nice people. Beautifull secluded guesthouse with 5 simple bungalows in a spacious garden near the river side. It's about 15 minutes drive from Khao Sok Village, but the friendly owner brings you there and picks you up. They can book tours in the national park if you want, but swimming can be done in the garden. Lots of birds there as well. The food is the best. No fixed times for breakfast, lunch or dinner. When you want to eat something, just sit down and they prepare it. Always fresh and the best fried rice and Padthai in Thailand!

Nothing.

Big room, very much elevated. River is right in front with bamboo rafts. Very quiet next to the river. Lots of trees and bird sounds, which gives you the impression of being in nature. Laundry service is great and fast. Breakfast is additional but it’s great and made fresh. Taxi to main KhaoSok road can be arranged and it takes 15 mins. Not super close by. Tours can be arranged. During the night, you can hear all the insects, so earplugs will be useful for light sleepers. Manager/Owner was very nice and offered to pick us up from main road the first day late at night. A great place to disconnect from the world if that’s what you’re looking for.

No window in the bathroom. Room felt a bit damped if AC is not on. No blackout curtains.

Tranquil and beautiful, this is the perfect location to relax away from the main Khao Sok village strip. They can organise tours and excursions for you. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are kind and the food here is exceptional and well priced, some of the best I ate in Thailand. They will happily provide lifts down into the main town for a small fee. The terraces are lovely places to sit and relax whilst listening to the silence of nature. There is a fridge and snacks available at a reasonable price too to save you going into town. I cannot recommend staying here enough, it’s paradise.

Nothing.

The room was simple but clean and had everything you needed for 2 nights. Spacious bathroom. Relatively hard mattress, but still slept very well. The restaurant served delicious food at all times. The hosts were very welcoming and helped with everything and even drove us to the nearby town. Thank you very much for that. Tip: If you want to enjoy a view (or cocktails) instead of the river, there is a path on the other side of the road that leads to the restaurant of the boutique camp, which is on an elevated position and offers a beautiful view of the landscape.

It’s a beautiful little resort, very tranquil in the middle of nature. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. You need to be motorised though as it’s in the middle of nowhere and there aren’t any shops or anything in the immediate vicinity. They do however serve food and drinks and we had an excellent meal.

The seating options in the room aren’t very comfortable, a cushion on the wooden chairs might be a nice improvement. Also this is in the middle of nature so be aware you might share your room with some bugs or geckos but nothing frightening.

Amazing place to stay when visiting Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan Lake. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant of the hotel is amazing, having done traveling Thailand I can say that I had here the best Pad Thai! Breakfast is also very good and everything is at very good value and quality. Booked through the hotel a full-day Cheow Lan Lake tour that was amazing. Gam was very nice and spoke good English and also helped us book a transfer to our hotel in Phuket. To go from and to the Khao Sok village/national park entrance, the staff is available to shuttle you with their pickup. I recommend seeing the sunset and the Jungle like in the picture by walking from the hotel: go up to the main road, then cross the street to a parking lot, then go up the staircase that leads you to the restaurant of the Khaosok Boutique Camps hotel and have a nice cocktail while enjoying the views.

The mattress is very hard, to the point is a bit hard to fall asleep cause of it. Water pressure is very low (understandable being in the Jungle, but still found it annoyingly low). The position makes it beautiful to stay but to reach it is possible only by taxi or car, Bolt and Grab are not available here (once in town or at the hotel there is the possibility of being shuttle to and from the village by the hotel staff).

For anyone looking for a khao sok stay that is in the middle of nature, this is your place! It is right on the river and deep in the forest. Relaxed and surrounded by nature!

It maybe that with the increased tourism the kitchen is trying to cater more to the western tourist, but we found it disappointing and missing the spice and flavour one hopes for in Thailand.
