Just wow. What a location! The rooms are just fine, could use a little TLC and update. The bathroom works but is very basic. The location is out of this world but be prepared for a steep decent into Tanote bay itself. The restaurant makes delicious food and the staff are super friendly and lovely. Such an amazing place even if it is a little rustic.

Very relaxed feel. Real 'tropical jungle feeling' with fantastic view to the trees & hills from our balcony. One of the best snorkeling spots right there off the beach, and the jumping rock kept our teenage son occupied ;) We were well looked after by the staff - Neing especially friendly and a great photographer, too 🤩

We couldn't get Thai food for breakfast - only 'Western style' - so we ate at the restaurant next door who had very tasty & spicy Thai food & good, fresh smoothies/juices 😋

The location is perfect if you just want relaxation, excellent snorkelling and don't want night life. We got free convenient transfers from the ferry that were easy to organise just by messaging them through the app. The guy was waiting at the covered waiting area straight of the boat. The boys loved riding on the back of the ute over the crazy steep mountains so you have to suspend your safety concerns if you want seatbelts etc. The snorkelling was amazing and we saw something different every time we went out including baby sharks, turtle, a massive school of hundreds of fish, anemones, colourful coral and fish. The water was so warm but cooled down after a storm came through. The restaurant had comfortable hammocks and deck chairs virtually right on the beach and you could pretty much get drinks all day long. The food was reasonably priced and a big variety. They were so quick to prepare it. The juices and shakes were very good. Our room had a beach view and nice balcony. The aircon worked well but the room heated up a lot when you were not in it. There were cool squirrels and jackfruit tree to admire and beautiful tropical trees. The staff were very helpful and we opted for no cleaning for a 200 baht refund. Initially we were about 60 m from our sons in a separate room but after the first night they moved us to the same building where we had an adjoining balcony. The wifi was excellent. You could get water resupplied from the restaurant.

The bathroom is pretty worn and some might think it wasn't clean but it is hard to tell. But obviously the setting largely makes up for this. Unfortunately it did smell like ammonia in both bathrooms and this smell persisted so I don't think it was from cleaning. Obviously sewage is a bit difficult to deal with on the island so it might be coming up from the sewage tank. There were no screens on the windows in the bathroom so you couldn't open the windows to let the smell out. Thankfully we were not in the bathroom long. There was no conditioner so my hair was a crazy mess from all the snorkelling. The pillows were too plump for my comfort so I struggled with my neck. It would have been better to have 2 thinner pillows so everyone can be comfortable.

We loved staying here, everyone is so friendly, kind, helpful and makes you feel very welcomed. The restaurant is right on the beach and the best place to hang out on Tanote bay. After much research we can confirm they also serve the best food and Mojito's in the bay! If you want a chilled vibe and an authentic Tanote and Thai experience this is the place for you. Great value for money. The price reflects that this isn't a 5 star hotel - it is a more simple Thai place. The negative comments from other reviews are potentially from customers who expected a 5 star experience. The staff also helped us arrange day trips and taxi trips. Nothing was too much.. Once you have spent a day at Poisedon you won't want to leave!

The setting was incredible. Tanote Bay is a gem with a lovely beach and great snorkelling. Poseidon is right on the beach, nestled in the jungle and you go to sleep with the sounds of nature. If you want to be away from the busyness of tourism, then this is a great spot. The staff were helpful, kind, and friendly, and the room was very spacious and was well equipped. We were only going to stay for a night, but ended up cancelling our next accommodation to stay here for 6 nights in total.

It could have been cleaner on arrival. The bathroom area also didn’t drain nicely so it was permanently wet and after a few days this got quite unpleasant. There were limited options for food at the restaurant and it was not as good as the rest of the island. If you want to explore the rest of the island, it is a fairly long scooter ride (you definitely need a scooter/transport when living here).

Simply the most beautiful beach ever we have been at Koh Tao, the resort and the hospitality of the management and the owner of the restaurant and Resort was beyond my expectation. We actually found a friend there and we will definitely go back. The beach is beautiful, especially under Water Marin life is spectacular for filming clean Water. The food at restaurant is just delicious. Staff are very kind and very friendly

I don't think you can get a better located accommodation in Koh Tao for this price. Most people stay near the busy bar area and road but honestly, I wish we had of been on this side the whole time. A few steps down, you can snorkel or have a beachside bite to eat. Felt like the book/movie 'The Island,' but in a good way. What we were really after on the islands.

The room was super big and had great facilities, but it isn't a 5-star resort or anything. Bugs and animals are close by but that's okay, it's Thailand. It is a bit of a drive to the main town/nearest 7/11 etc but that's okay because you get seclusion.

Location, right on the beach. Kayaking and fishing with Joe, snorkeling and seeing good amount of tropical fish, reading, watching, swimming and not jumping off ‘jump rock’. My room was average but comfortable enough for sleeping - the outdoor porch area needs to be refurbished to give it more appeal. The restaurant is excellent. I only ate at Poseidon, mostly Thai meals but they flip a good burger as well. The staff are friendly.

The day trippers - but from early till 11.00am the beach is quiet

the resort is quite nice. restaurant is really cosy and very good. room are confortable. beds are large. hard bed but this is our preference. owner is really nice. tanotee is really a very good snorkeling place. very closed to the beach you have so much fish and coral. very good for beginners. access to restaurant and beach is quite closed to the rooms.

almost nothing: Dogs barking in the middle of the night nearby. happily it is happening only one time. the place is not suitable for limited mobility person…but you could tell me that koh tao is not recommended for disabled person due to the several steep slope :-)

The family who runs the place are extremely friendly and kind, they make you feel very friendly. The room is very big and has everything you need including an outside kitchen, balcony, hammock and sofa inside. They offer cheap transport in to town various times a day which is great to have as a private taxi can be expensive

The bathroom although very big is a bit uncomfortable cos it doesn't have space to put your toilet bag.
