We loved everything. Beautiful traditional teak construction. Spacious room with fridge, air con and huge shower and view across the fields to a temple. We could hear the monks singing at sunset. We ate here both nights and the food was delicious. It was lovely sitting next to the water. Breakfast was amazing , best we’ve had in Thailand . We had our own car (but they also organise tours to the temples) and it was a perfect location for visiting the temples and lovely to come back to such a peaceful place after a long hot day. The pool is good to cool off in and we had a great massage on site too. Finally all the staff - reception, cafe and massage are so friendly and helpful. We left an item behind and they very efficiently organised for it to be sent onto our Bangkok hotel. We had only 2 nights but would have loved to have stayed longer . Thank you for a great stay.

Absolutely nothing !

The room was a free-standing traditional wooden house which was absolutely gorgeous, it was stylish and comfortable. The food at the restaurant exceeded our expectations hugely — we tried only the Thai menu, but it was exceptionally good. The included breakfast was also very delicious. It really felt like a retreat tucked away out of the main city.

It was far from the town but that's not necessarily a bad thing, depends on what you are expecting.

We love the fact that the property is traditional, quirky, and full of character… There is something new to discover around every corner. The pond in the centre was full of fish, it was very relaxing area to sit and enjoy your breakfast/evening meal. The property is surrounded by nature and paddyfields, and you can really disconnect there. The breakfast was delicious, as were the other meals that we ate. The staff were great, and we liked that they offered vintage bicycles for us to explore the area by bike for free (we visited a Wat which is very close to the Retreat).

The bathroom could maybe do with an update, the toilet seat was broken.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ayutthaya Retreat, and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of tranquillity enveloping the entire property. The retreat is next to the rice fields, providing a serene escape from the city centre. What I liked the most was how it was thoughtfully designed; the restaurant had an emerald green pool in the middle, a common area with an extensive antique collection by the owner, and traditional Thai rooms in authentic Thai house. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities. The staff was best with warm Hospitality, particularly the owner. Their genuine care for guests is evident in every interaction. Whether it’s recommending local attractions or ensuring your comfort, their hospitality is exceptional.

It's such a unique little place. It feels like you are stepping back in time, into relics of an old complex or unpretentious Thai museum. There are so many little nooks and crannies to explore, and I often found myself saying, "Whoa, that's cool," each time I turned a corner. The entire place is centralized around a pond and there are chill-out or eating areas everywhere--and they all are different and funky. It's super cool. All of these spaces are connected by a set of wooden walkways, steps and boards that make it feel authentic and old. When you are there, you only hear running water. Either the water mill in the center of the pond, or the small waterfall feature that is near to the eating area. It's very relaxing. The kitchen is in one corner and the rest of the area around the pond is mostly for guests to enjoy--either eating, or lounging and chilling. Many people come to eat here on day trips and take photos, as it's picturesque. They have a masseuse on-site who gives nice massages. She is super warm, welcoming and lovely. Top, the main receptionist, is unbelievable. He is so helpful and kind and will go out of his way to ensure your stay is lovely. He can organize tours and tuk-tuks for you and will be your point person for anything you need. The pool area is wonderful and a great way to beat the afternoon heat. The food is very good and they can make many things vegan or vegetarian with the tofu they have. Everyone who works there is very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place and we hope to come back again for a long weekend.

The only thing we were a bit disappointed with is that one of the tours they offer has elephant bathing involved. Elephant tourism is not a good thing and it would be great if they partnered with a company that is more ethical in this regard.

Beautiful large sprawling hotel with lots of charm. Rooms are large and the bed was firm. The bathroom was charming, part modern, part antique. The dining setting around the pond area is very pretty and the breakfast is served in lovely crockery. Staff try hard. The pool is lovely and the overall landscaping is lush and relaxed. Few more mosquitoes to contend with and the Retreat is out of town in a rural setting, you need a taxi to get into town.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful and tranquil, set around a small lake. Lots of places to sit and eat/drink. The included breakfast was fantastic. Other meals we bought were also very good, although food and drinks are not served at all after 6/7pm, which could be a problem as the hotel isn't really near to anywhere else. We just made sure to pick things up when we were out. Our room was probably the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The swimming pool was lovely - very clean and never busy. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. A wonderful place for a relaxing stay.

No fridge in the room. Uncomfortable bed. No food or drinks served after 6/7pm. Room not cleaned or toilet bins emptied at all during our two-night stay.

- Nice room design. Really traditional. - Breakfast is amazing and bigger than you probably expect. -amazing place with the restaurant built around a tiny lake full of fishes . So relaxing to stay and eat or drink something. I recommend the roses latte. I also recommend to eat in their restaurant in the rest of the day. Because their food is better and also cheaper than any other places that I’ve been in Ayutthaya.

The only small downside is that at 7 pm the restaurant closes and you don’t have shops nearby. Is outside of the city. I had motorbike so was not a problem. But i can see how some people could find this inconvenient.

Very authentic and cosy atmosphere, the resort has a very traditional feel. The staff is extremely helpful and open for a chat. The restaurant serves a great breakfast (good coffee too!) and very nice dinner too. The restaurant area is super relaxing and peaceful. Nice swimming pool although not very big. The room was very romantic and comfortable and had a lovely atmosphere.

You will need a car or taxi to get around since the hotel is not in the city center or anywhere close to the attractions. The hotel is happy to help you on this, including various guided tours or transportation options.

A quirky old teak mansion converted into a hotel. The setting is idyllic and peaceful. Full of character and a great experience. But the main reason to return here again and again...is the food. Consistently excellent. Breakfast lunch and dinner.

Perhaps a little less quirky furniture in the bedroom (no2) to make it easier to move around in the room. Also the Aircon machine was loud. But I am picking on small details. It wouldn't stop me staying again.
