We stayed in the teak house, which was a wonderful traditional Thai house in the garden of the residence, right next to the river. It is a beautiful tranquil setting with all the facilities you need. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, including the tuk tuk driver who showed us around the historical city and ferried us to and from restaurants. Although he was not at the residence, Duke, the host, was excellent - always available to chat to via phone or message, or through the staff. He arranged the tuk tuk, a lovely evening boat trip, massages at the residence, and an early morning taxi to the airport. Highly recommend the whole experience.

I literally like the service and the staffs, The owner duke reached out to me proactively prior to my trip, and perfectly answered all my questions plus sharing good tips, I was warmly welcomed by staffs upon arrival, the onsite staffs speak limited English, but actually it doesn’t matter at all, basic communication could be handled with the help of translation app, and you could always reach out to Duke via WhatsApp, all things were settled smoothly and well. On the first day, duke facilitated a Tuk-Tuk for me, and I did a bit of explorations to attractions located a bit farther, the next day, I was offered the bike from the residence and I did a bike tour to all the attractions in the town centre. Breakfast was very good, I had a really big breakfast that morning .The residence is very Thai style with a beautiful and manicured. Really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.

If I had to pick one disadvantage, I would say the location is a little far away from the town centre, so you would need a Tuk-Tuk or bike to get there.

Lovely staff, very accommodating with excellent communication before and during our stay. The stay was as described on Booking.com and would have received 5 stars. The ONLY negative was that the room we were allocated had 3 glass walls and the very thin curtains provided very little Privacy from the surrounding accommodatio, especially in the evening. Curtains with better privacy would be welcomed and gain a 5 star review. Otherwise an excellent stay in a lovely clean and welcoming room, with breakfast on the riverfront.

Loved the place. Beautifully decorated garden with the river flowing right beside it. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Amazing breakfast. Peaceful place to spend some time with friends, family or even solo. Free bike rental and motorbike rental at 300TBH per day. Boat ride available at 1200TBH per boat. Short way to all the major attractions. Food delivery via apps like grab, foodpanda, etc. are available. The host is always available to help out. There are many food options nearby with 7-11s about a 5 minute walk away. Note: Costs mentioned are from June 2024.

The AC took a long time to cool the room which becomes really hot during the day. The rooms are not soundproof. The motorboats that travel along the river are very noisy and you can expect to be woken up by them very early.

Duke and his team looked after us v well and were very accommodating to our requests. Our stay in the Thai House was an unforgettable unique experience!

There was little that I didn’t like although we had a problem with toast which didn’t seem freshly made but Duke explained that it was because there had been a safety issue but I’m sure we’re not the only guests who would like their toast hot, Duke resolved that promptly and a toaster was brought to us thereby making my husband a happy bunny…

Lovely traditional and authentic accommodation. It was rustic, with some quirky touches and set in a quiet location. Duke (the owner) is very helpful and is fluent in English. We particularly liked his smiley and helpful staff. The breakfast was traditional and very good. Good wifi. We enjoyed the organised river boat trip and the tuk tuk tour of some of the main Wats. Duke organised a local taxi company to do an airport transfer.

Minor things…We had a ground floor two bedroomed family room, which felt a little dark with limited natural light due to many fixed curtains. However, these did keep the rooms cooler. The accommodation is a long way from main centre (not walkable), hence you need to get tuk tuk ride or a Grab. Main room door lock was frustrating. Beds were a little hard for us and we had some noisy air con units. Watch out for the pesky mosquitoes. Note: there is noise from building work next door.

I've completely fallen in love with this place. I should specify that my stay was in the Traditional Thai House River View at Phuttal Residence, so my experiences are centered around this particular and extremely beautiful accommodation. Phuttal Residence is a boutique haven of peace and tranquility, nestled in the embrace of a lush green garden by the riverside. A temple and a mosque stand nearby, just across the river, their prayer chants echoing softly from time to time, adding to the spiritual ambiance. What I cherished most was waking up to the symphony of bird songs, akin to listening to a classical music orchestra. Such natural immersion is rare in Europe, and being able to greet the sunrise with these beautiful sounds was an incredibly special experience, at least for me! The breakfast here was simply special. Once I mentioned my vegetarian dietary preference, they went above and beyond to prepare something delicious and varied each day. For those who are working while traveling, there's a table under the Thai villa where you can set up your workspace. Simply plug in your laptop, connect to the wifi, and work (outside mosquito hours ;)) while observing the gentle rhythm of daily life along the riverbank.

I value thoroughness, like when I check into a place and the staff takes the time to familiarize me with the premises, its organization, and any essential guidelines. It's also beneficial when they ask if I require any recommendations. The limited English skills of some staff members may have posed an obstacle in this case. However, the owner, Duke, is incredibly helpful, proactively offering a variety of tips and suggestions for activities. If any issues arise, he can be easily and promptly reached via WhatsApp.

What an absolutely lovely place. We stayed in the Thai Villa, everything about it was great. The room was very traditional with wooden shutters on the windows and wooden dual hinged doors. Everything was wood and made you feel like a Thai King and Queen. The service was just as amazing. Delicious breakfast in the morning and inexpensive drinks and snacks at the desk. I will definitely stay here again!!

I cannot think of much I didn't like. The mosquitos were fierce, but that is not the homes fault. The villa is on the river so be prepared with bug spray.

It is a small familair bed and breakfast and I would say. Staff is very friendly. The owner, Duke, speaks english very well. He showed us a map of Ayutthaya and explained them a bit. He was very helpfull. Our appartment was authentic and we liked it a lot; it was the only small 'hotel' we visited, but the ambiance was very authentic. We were happen to hear that we could leave our luggage there and were able to shower. Checkout was at 10:30, but our train was leaving at 19:45. We went sightseeing during the day and were wondering how to freshen up before boarding the train. But they have a external shower which we could use, including towells. That proved very helpfull after the long and very hot day. Also the breakfast was very nice. We could not choose what we wanted (no buffet or anything), but we were pleased with what the baked/cooked.

Nothing worth mentioning.

1) characterful, comfortable accommodation in a peaceful green environment. 2) good bed, good bedding. 3) Netflix, smart speaker, YouTube 4) engaged owner who was very helpful regarding trips, restaurants and tuk tuk drivers.

1) no decent restaurants or bars within walking distance. 2) the guesthouse could really do with someone on site with passable english.
