Location of hotel is excellent - near major attractions - five minutes walk to Blue Mosque, Haga Sofia and Topkapi Palace and two minutes walk to the tram station. Best part is the staff at hotel was very caring. The owner himself gave personal attention. James one of the staff member has been extremely caring.

Size of the room - just enough for two persons. And the fact that at arrival and exit the taxi or car can't reach the hotel door due to small street size.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ares hotel in the heart of Istanbul, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the immaculate cleanliness throughout the property. Every corner, from the lobby to the hallways and especially the room, was spotless and fresh. The housekeeping staff clearly takes great pride in their work—my room was cleaned daily with attention to every detail, and everything felt exceptionally well-maintained. Every staff member I encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help. The location of the hotel is another huge plus. Situated just a short walk from major attractions like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar, it was incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The area is vibrant yet safe, with plenty of cafes, shops, and restaurants nearby. Public transportation is also easily accessible, making it simple to explore other parts of the city. It combines impeccable cleanliness, exceptional service, and a prime location—all at a reasonable price. Whether you're visiting Istanbul for the first time or returning for another adventure, this hotel provides the perfect base for a comfortable and memorable stay. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Thin walls between the rooms

The hotel location was superb as it is very close (3-4 mins) to the main attractions in Istanbul. There were so many eating places around the hotel. The hotel also has its own terrace restaurant with a fantastic view of the main attraction, such as Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The staff is also very helpful and informative. Ali particularly, he helped us to carry our big luggage from the roadside to the hotel. We are very thankful for his kindness. The owner (Ayoub) himself was very helpful with his advice and tips about visiting Istanbul. We thank you for his hospitality. The hotel facilities were also good and enough for travellers like us. Good breakfast was also served. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at Ares Hotel, Istanbul.

Walking to the hotel from the roadside (300-400m) since the taxi was not able to go closer to the hotel. The road towards the hotel is closed to all taxi and personal transport.

Hi.. very good hotel..in a busy street,,top location just 3 minutes to sultan Ahmed Masjid and Hgia Sophia Masjid ,,tram staion 4 minutes..so many attraction near to the place..very clean rooms .comfortable beds..we like it very much. staff is friendly , Mr Yousaf the host is very nice and kind man..breakfast is good..terrace is very nice .good view from there .bathrooms are clean with hot and cold water toilet paper and shampo ect..value for money. recomend for low budget.less money.brillient facilities. thanks to Mr Yousef and staff to make our stay comfertable

Location 5* Staff 5* ++++ Room was a very decent size for Europe, bed was very comfortable, aircon worked great, radiator was fantastic & great to dry clothes on. Amazing to have a refrigerator which is rare & very appreciated.

Just needs a little TLC - shower head holder literally disintegrated upon touching. Ceiling above shower had pealing paint. Electric outlet in cupboard next to refrigerator was broken & inoperable, however manager moved the refrigerator out of the cupboard & we plugged into another outlet, worked perfectly.

Location of the hotel is perfect, near many tourist attractions. It's well connected with public transportation, tram station is a few meters from the hotel and with that you can really go in any direction of beautiful Istanbul. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed for pleasant stay. The staff in the hotel were friendly and always ready to help. Many restaurants really close to the hotel, including local restaurants and global fast food chains.

The hotel has a private, roof-top terrace with stunning views of the Hagia Sophia cathedral mosque as well as the Istanbul skyline.

Because the hotel is literally across the street from the Cathedral mosque, taxis cannot bring you directly to the door step. The area is closed off for vehicle traffic. Do not worry they will drop you off a 5 minute walk away. The Hagia Sophia has a "no god but god" sign hanging between two of its main minirets...the hotel is across the street from that in a cozy alley of shops and restaurants.

We stayed for a week, very good service from the reception, very polite. Excellent location in the Sultanamet area, excellent access to most important tourist places, the price is very good considering the infrastructure. The best thing has been the help they have given me especially by Ali: since I forgot my iPad, they have been very efficient and have helped me to recover it. They have sent it to Germany again. My rating: 10.

Extremely good location in the heart of Istanbul, which helps to enjoy your time and save your money - all places of interest are very close by, in walking distance or can reached by the tram quickly. The hotel is lovely, the views from the windows are marvellous and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Very good kitchen and delicious Turkish tea. Definitely worth a trip, I'll be coming back.

Ideal location: 5 minutes to Hagia Sofia, to Blue Mosque, and to Topkapi Palace, 2 minutes to Basilica Cistern, to tram stop, to shopping street, 1 minute to restaurants. Great hospitality: in the evenings we were always welcomed with free hot tea by very kind gentlemen at the reception. Fine terrace at the top with great view.

Rooms were rather small and modest, need some renovation - however altogether good value for money.
