Location was perfect, a stone's throw away from two main mosques - you will hear the prayers and people from the street but it wasn't really an issue (not that loud). You will, however, be pestered to look at menus with every step you make to reach the hotel. Breakfast was OK, just as shown in the photos. There is free coffee and cake on the terrace at 4PM - never managed to get tea in the afternoon even when we went early. The view from the terrace is astonishing - it was what encouraged me to book and it was worth it. Also, because the elevator is small, they sent a porter with the luggage after check-in which was nice. The bed was OK, and size of room also good for 2 adults.

The photos here do not show the current state of the room - peeling walls and basin, shower rainfall was about to fall off - all in all the room needs refurbishment. Mattress and pillows could be more comfortable, but don't let this put you off. The heater worked just fine, always managed to wash nonetheless and the location is perfect to walk around the city / catch a tram.

This was a great stay. All staff members were very friendly and they did everything to make my stay very comfortable. I arrived before the official check-in time and they did not only allow an early check in but also gave me a room upgrade. The breakfast on the roof-top terrace was amazing with the view and the choice of food offered was nice. I also booked a Hamam visit with them and this was also a great experience, very personal and friendly. It is a small, very clean hamam.

There is nothing to dislike. It is maybe just worth mentioning that taxis cannot drive directly to the hotel and one has to walk a few meters. Best to book the airport transfer with the hotel as they will then help you with your luggage when you arrive. They anyway help you with everything!

This was my second stay at Lapis Inn, and I’m very grateful to the entire hotel staff for their kindness and support, especially Mr. Selçuk, Mr. Ünal, and Ms. Belgi. The hotel's location is one of the best, with a calming view from the terrace. Plus, Sultanahmet tram station is right in front of the hotel, which is very convenient after a long day of exploring Istanbul’s sights. The hotel is also very clean, making the stay even more comfortable.

There was hardly anything to dislike about my stay. Everything was well-managed, and I had a great experience overall.

If you’re after a location, can’t go wrong with this property. I mean, it’s a jump-away from the major attractions in Sultanahmed (the tram stop in front of it is called Sultanahmed!). The rests are more than adequate of you are not fixated on luxury. Breakfast is good, it has a lift, ACs are powerful, staff is courteous and helpful, restaurants just downstairs (though they are those restaurants rated $$$). Central location but not noisy. And from the terrace where you would have your breakfast, you can see Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. What more to ask.

Nothing really. For this price vs quality level, this is super satisfying. Maybe only one thing, if you plan to take a cab from or to this property, allow 20-30 mins extra. A lot of one-way streets, blocked streets, streets occupied by pedestrians and tables, etc. I reserved a car on the app and it was late by 30 mins. I had to cancel and book another taxi nearby (500 meters away) and it took him 20 mins to reach me (that too after we decided to walk and meet him halfway). And that was in the morning before 10AM. Better yet, use the tram (unless you have huge luggage)

10 stars mainly because of the extremely friendly and helpful concierge by the name of Mustafa. He gladly gave historic lessons of Istanbul from the roof terrace with the most astonishing view over the city. He went out of his way to help with luggage upon checkin and checkout, at breakfast and wherever he could really. The hotel in itself was pretty basic, and the breakfast the same. But 10/10 for Mustafa and for the rooftop terrace view.

Bed linen had some stains and the terrace terribly under-utilised as you can't get serving there during the day.

the location is so amazing! right by the hagia Sophia and blue mosque with a great terrace view if both as well as the bustling street below where you can catch the tram around the city. generally the staff are really nice and friendly. the breakfast had a great range of hot and cold food spread with freshly cooked eggs on request. the salads changed as well as what was offer for the hot food. you can find something for everyone whilst looking at the sun shining over the mosques and watching the cats sunbathing on the terrace.

the shower area is quite small and tight. the elevator is also quite small. it isn't very clear what all the food on offer was e.g lots of different cheese but unsure what kind. I just tried everything! one of the staff memenbers was quite pushy with the spa options which I didn't really appreciate. in the end didn't get to try it but super handy it's right there.

The location was excellent and within a 5-10 minute walk to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The outside breakfast seating area offered a great view of these iconic buildings. The room was on the small side, but that seemed to be normal for this area. The bed was comfortable and the room was cool inside. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect with on multiple devices. The shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. The included breakfast was decent. The hotel staff was able to arrange a 3am IST airport transfer for 1,400 Lira, which was a good deal.

The hotel was down a concealed ally, so I needed a lot of help to find it, even with the GPS running. There is a sign pointing toward the hotel direction, but it is high up and not where you would expect to look. The shower head was missing from the hose, and there was no faucet, so I had to hold and aim the hose. It may have recently been dropped and just was replaced yet.

I stayed at Lapis Inn with my parents for the second time - the location is unbeatable, so is the magnificent terrace that is accessible at all time and is a great bonus to the stay. The hotel team are all very kind, attentive and responsive so one can always reach out to them for anything. The rooms have everything one needs during their stay., and while it is a very busy area, the rooms are high enough to be very quiet.

The only downside for me is the size of the room, but this must be the characteristic of the area. The room for 3 people had limited counter and storage space for 3 people to be comfortable, but we were ready for it and didn't mind as other advantages of the hotel overweighed.

The property is literally a few steps away from Istanbul tourist attractions. There’s a lot of restaurants everywhere near the hotel. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean but small, since it’s in the historical site that’s why space is very limited. Breakfast has good selections of food. Plus, tram is just across the street.

We booked a family room that has 2 bedrooms, one queen bed, 2 twin beds, and one bathroom on the 5th floor. The view of the terrace where breakfast and tea time are held was amazing! Your left side is a Hagia Sofia and your right side is a blue mosque. We enjoyed nice breakfast every morning and drinks in the evening. Breakfast was very good and changed the menu a little every day. The location is very convenient for visiting many sites and riding the tram,

The hotel is located on a very busy restaurant street and its entrance was even further inside. Our taxi driver couldn't drop off us in front of the hotel due to traffic. Our second room which had 2 twin beds was so small that couldn't put a nightstand. One thing I didn't like most was the bath towel. The color of the towels was not bright white and not fluffy either. Otherwise, it was a pretty good hotel to stay for a couple of days in Istanbul,
