Located in the heart of ancient Istanbul, great place to stay to see the sights. I had a nice spacious room overlooking Hagia Sophia. Very nice, comfortable and great value for money considering the location.

I felt some of the reception staff - not all - were downright rude and not bothered. Need better training. Also, breakfast quality was very average. Quantity and choice was not a problem as it was buffet breakfast, but the quality was average.

Great location, friendly staff and all was very helpful. I was upgraded for the first few days and then went to a standard room which was also very good. Breakfast was good. They also have a pool and a gym

In the first room facing the street. It was a little bit noisy at night because there are many restaurants, but that’s not the fault of the hotel. There is a nearby mosque which was making a lot of noise late at night and very early in the morning with the call to prayer.

On arrival Tuba at reception was polite & very helpful. The breakfast was excellent & a wide variety. The waiters at breakfast time, especially Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Hassan & Abdullah were very polite & always going the extra mile in wanting to provide great service. Arnan at reception also very polite & helpful. A great location to be based at in Istanbul.

I am extremely disappointed with the laundry service. I was promised that my clothes would be ready within 2 hours for an additional fee. However, I waited over 4 hours with no update. Later, I was assured that the items would be delivered by 5 PM, as I had an important event but that promise was also broken. Even the manager failed to take responsibility or provide any real assistance. I only received my clothes the following day, and only because I personally followed up. This level of service is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Friendly Staff, very fast check in with Samet and Oguzhan promptly taking all our luggage to our rooms, sorting out WiFi on our phones...great wifi coverage. We paid more for a standard room which turned out to be a room in the loft with a small half window.....even so had a fantastic view from this window of both the Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. Our rooms were cleaned daily. We payed more to avoid a basement room, but I did view a basement room which did have a very large window/patio doors to a small private outdoor area, although no views. Very comfy bed, standard room with a king-size bed and good room size.

Tea/ Coffee in paper cups!!! Would have been nice to have breakfast tea in proper tea cups or mugs... More hot food options needed for breakfast. Picture of standard double room was misleading. As ours had only a tiny half window in a loft room.

Fabulous location, with the Blue Mosque, Hagu Sophia, Basilica Cistern and Museum of Islamic Art just minutes from the hotel. The staff were welcoming and we enjoyed the wide choice and freshness of breakfast. I slept very well - beautiful bedding and responsive air conditioning. The little pool and sun bathing area was lovely to relax in after a hard day's sightseeing.

Decor is a little tired and the garden area was a little untidy. A handrail on one staircase was unsafe. £16 for a small Cointreau from a bar with no waiter service seemed rather expensive.

The location is excellent. Quite central and close to the tram station. Quite a lot of restaurants nearby and most famous sightseeing sites in Istanbul are a few minutes walk. I got a standard room, and the size is very compact (I think it is reasonable for this location and the price) but everything you need is there. Hotel staff is friendly and supportive.

Just one inconvenience during our stay is that the elevator was not accessible from ground floor to first floor. (my room is at 2nd floor). I had to carry the suitcase and stroller manually every time between lobby and 1st level, and then take the elevator from 1st to 2nd floor.

Sura Hagi Sophia is the ideal hotel for visiting Istanbul. The breakfast is exceptional, the products are natural and have an authentic taste, yogurt, milk, various fruits, borek etc The Spa services are not to be missed: swimming pool, hammam, dry and steam sauna, massage. The hotel is very close to all tourist attractions and all points of interest: Sultaahmet Square, Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome with the Column of Constantine, Serpentine Column in bronze and the Obelisk of Theodosius, Arasta Bazaar (small and with art objects, don't miss Iznik ceramics, Turkish cotton items, pahare ceai Pasabahce) Basilica Cistern, Gulhane Park all 3-7 minutes walk away. Surface metro station T1 at 2 minutes walk away and 3-4 stops away from other destinations: Eminonu Ferry for Bosphorus crossings with destinations on the European shore of Bebek, Ortakoy, Besiktas or the Asian side of Anadolu Kavasi, Kadikoy. from Eminonu on foot a few minutes to visit Yeni Camii, Yeni Camii Meydanim, Misir Carsis - the Egyptian bazaar, Grand Bazaar and in the other direction Galata Bridge and Bosphorus criuse to Maiden Tower - Kiz Kulesi, Karakoy district, Galata tower, Dolmabache Palace, Pierre Loti Hill.

there was nothing to disrupt a perfect vacation

The location of this hotel is superb - very close to both main mosques, as well as the hustle and bustle of Sultanamet. The tram stop is a very short walk away, with excellent links to Eminou pier etc. The room was very comfortable and hotel staff were very helpful. The breakfast is fabulous, very varied and plentiful - served until 10.30 during the week and until 11 at weekends, which is also a bonus. There is a small pool with a view of the Hajia Sofia mosque which is open until 10 pm every day to swim and 24/7 to just sit by... I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

This was my second time staying at Sura, The location, cleanliness and facilities are amazing. I also enjoyed the Suhoor spread which accommodates fasting Muslims. The night manager Aziz was really helpful, kind and friendly and Alkan the day bell boy was also really friendly and helpful.

I had communicated with the property in advance I would be arriving early and had requested an early check in, I was willing to pay for the early check in but was advised it was not required. I arrived at the property and was advised a room would not be available until 2. The receptionist Firat was not very nice or helpful, he was not willing to listen, he just kept shutting me down by saying “your room will be ready by 2:00”. I understand that a room was not available my experience would have been much more pleasant is Firat was helpful and willing to listen. My room was not ready until 2:30, Firat is the type of person who would not let someone check in a minute early, but expected me to be fine with providing me access to my room 30minutes late. He needs to be humbled.
