I had an amazing experience at Hotel Saint Sophia! The staff were incredibly helpful, caring, and attentive from start to finish. A special mention to the manager at the reception, who went above and beyond to ensure our airport taxi driver found the best route and helped us get our luggage out without any hassle. It was so impressive to see him leave his desk to make sure we were safe and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—close to historical landmarks, great shopping spots, restaurants, and cafes. The location of the hotel is fantastic, you can view the backside of Hagia Sophia from the hotel and you are 3 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Archeological Museum and other museums. The tram stop is 2 minutes away with the main line across everywhere in Istanbul. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired with a Turkish selection of cheese, olives and sorts. There is also a complementary tea/coffee time with cake in the afternoon. The rooms are very comfortable, but I would suggest a room facing the back if you are sensitive to noise as the tram passes right in front of the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul, especially for the first time as you have most sights at your doorstep and you are spoilt with a lovely breakfast, staff and accommodation.

The location could not be better being immediately adjacent to all the major historical sites of the Sultanahmet area. Very friendly and helpful staff who show genuine concern for the guests happiness and welfare. Due to the location Taxi drop-off is 120m away but you are greeted at the location by Hotel staff (Thanks to Omar for being so efficient!)

The cleaning staff appear to leave cleaning materials and customer bedding on each floor which you have to navigate and does make some of the access areas appear rather untidy.

The location is EXCELLENT, a literal stone's throw from the Hagia Sophia. Central to the historic district, close to tram line stops. Getting to anywhere that you would like to go is very easy. We walked out of the hotel to the tram stop, took a tram and then the Marmary train to the Asian side, and we arrived on the Asian side in 30 minutes from the time we left the hotel on foot. You can get to many places on foot, but if you buy an Istanbulkart (easy to purchase and top off at the tram stop) you can save your feet and your time. The staff service was also EXCELLENT! Very friendly place. I would definitely stay there again.

The shower leaked onto the floor, even when we tried hard to keep the water inside. Other than that, the facilities were great. The hotel is smack in the middle of the historic district, and the taxis cannot stop in front of the hotel. I tried to explain this to my taxi driver, but he didn't seem to get what I was saying when I told him to call the hotel, and they would explain the drop-off point. This was only a minor annoyance, as the staff will help transfer your luggage, and it is NOT a deal-breaker. Definitely CALL the hotel before you leave the airport!

The hotel is extremely well localized, almost every point of interest is near. You can go walking. The breakfast is good, very well supplied. The attendants doesn’t let you get up from your table. That bring all you need to you. There is a culture to serve. They are extremely kind and make your stay a wonderful experience. Ernest and Hakkan delivered us a great time here. Ernest borrow us his own transportation card and recharged it, and then we could take a train to know other places. Every details in this hotel was good. Even the soap, shampoos and bath cream in our room was Bvlgari. The price for our stay is very fair.

Fantastic breakfast, unbeatable location. Literally next to Hagia Sophia and across the road from the Basilica Cistern. Bvlgari toileteries and the plushest bedroom slippers were provided. A short walk to the tram stop. It’s nice that they provide complimentary tea and cakes in the afternoon. Room was very clean but could be stuffy.

The shower floor had an odd recessed middle where the drainage is, hence it was uncomfortable to shower when the floor isn’t level. The rain shower often drips even when it’s not in use but whilst using the handheld shower head, so it was inconvenient when needing to shower without wetting one’s hair. Breakfast staff does not have good command of English, and may not understand all requests perfectly. I was slightly misled by the photos to think that the room is facing Hagia Sophia view but actually more like the courtyard instead (I think you’ll have to book the most expensive tier of rooms for that, the one with a balcony)

The location is excellent, close to Saint Sophia Mosque, with views over Hagia Sophia courtyard, and just a few steps Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, and the Hurrem Sultan Hamami (where I had a very pleasant experience), Basilica Cistern, and also not far to the Grand Bazar. The room was amazing, large, very nice with very nice design, opening the window and seeing the the sunrise and sunset was a fantastic experience. The breakfast was very good and plentiful, both sweet and savory. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff were all extremely attentive and friendly. A very special mention to Enes and Omer for their outstanding service!

Location, room size, comfy bed

Staff seemed lacking in experience regarding helping to find places of interest, best ways buy tickets. Seemed irritated when we repeatly had to double check. Hard to understand their english. Porter failed to tell us hiw to use AC, fridge temp too warm, not enough power points for hair products. Bluetooth port not working and no phone working. Told staff same day but nothing was done. Map supplied ok but hard to read, very tiny print. Our shower was cold, did not heat hardly, which is fine if want wash and cool down but hard to wash long hair.

A sophisticated and beautifully designed modern hotel. The staff were delightful; incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate our spirited toddler! The breakfast was outstanding, both in quality and proportion! If we find ourselves back in Istanbul, we know exactly where we’ll be staying.

The location is fantastic as it is right next to the Sophia mosque, however, this does mean that you’re first to hear the call to prayer which disturbed our sleep two nights in a row. It is VERY loud! Also, our room was beside the tramline (there are other rooms on the other side of the hotel) so if you’re a light sleeper you may not want to stay in the old city — or you’ll need ear plugs!
