We had wonderful time in this hotel. Location is very convenient, next to the famous mosque of Ayasofya. Usually hotels in this area are located near the noisy neighborhood, but this hotel is an exception: we had no problem with open windows during the day and night. Breakfast is healthy, only thing lacking is freshly brewed coffee. The room itself was clean and daily cleaning service was provided. A lot of thanks to the manager Bareen for helping us with almost every question we had - we experienced brilliant service and assistance. If you want the best option for price/quality among 3-star hotels - Basilissis should be on the top of your list.

The location was easy to get around to the sights by walking or bus. The room itself was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was also great with lots of variety.

The location is prime for traffic so takes a while to get to from the airport. It also is in a narrow street where taxis cannot stop at, but they can drop you off down the block.

We stayed 3 nights in Istanbul and initially chose this hotel exclusively for its location, as it was within walking distance of Istanbul's main tourist attractions. This was particularly important since I was traveling with a stroller and another child. However, while location was supposed to be the main advantage for us, the service exceeded everything and we would return here again, even if the hotel were more distant, because the level of service was excellent. The staff was kind and accommodating, dedicated to helping resolve any question or request, including assistance with the stroller. We had a crib prepared in our room along with basic refreshments. The breakfasts were fantastic, and even though we often arrived for breakfast at the last minute, everything was replenished and fresh, and we always had a full selection of all the delicious options available. Many thanks to the reception staff for their kindness and helpfulness.

The location and staff were amazing! The location couldn't have been better. We were able to easily walk to everything we wanted to see. The staff couldn't have been more kind or helpful. They did much to make our trip an amazing one.

The rooms are quite small, and there was noise (mainly people talking as they were relaxing or walking by) outside our window. However, it would quiet down late at night. And being in an old, historic city makes it difficult to have large rooms.

The location of this hotel is perfect, all main points are nearby. The service is very friendly and polite, the administrator gave us recommendations for restaurants, bars, activities.

Breakfast was always cold, even food that was held in the warming metal dishes, was cold. As we asked the administrator, whether there is something to be done about that, the next morning breakfast was much warmer, but still not warm enough. E.g. pancakes were just put on the plate, not in the warming metal dish.

Great location and staff who helped out whenever needed. Great value for the location.

I do not recommend the airport transport offered through the hotel. They increased the price 25% since the hotel first contacted me, the new price was way too expensive for the service. We waited over 35 minutes outside the airport for the company to find us a ride, they corralled us around the airport parking lot. It was chaotic and not worth the price. You can find cheaper private car options elsewhere. The rooms are very small and the towels are also thin/small.

The reception staff were super helpful answering all our questions and providing useful information. The rooms were small but comfortable and they provided fresh towels daily. The hotel was right in the heart of the city just a short walk from the main attractions.

Breakfast was - as expected - Turkish. It was plentiful and varied, and most of the options were tasty but if you are travelling with children there might be limited options for them. Our children, who are not really picky, always found something to have but, to be realistic, most of the options did not look very attractive to them.

It's impossible to get here using iMap or Google Maps. I spent two to three hours roaming the streets trying to follow both dragging luggage behind me before a kindly store owner called the hotel and told them to send the bellboy to get me which Omur did. It was five minutes away from where I was! The problem is that it is located on a pedestrian path, not a street. Just follow these instructions and you will be there within 7 minutes of getting off the tramway. You take the tramway to Gulhane station on the T1 line, get off and continue following the tram tracks in the direction towards Sultanamet station until you see the sign for Antik Cafe. Just as a note, the other side of the street is the entrance to Topkapi Palace and the Archeological Museums. Go into the cobblestone pedestrian only alleyway, following the central tile drain between the two rows of cafe tables ( actually two different restaurants) turning right at the end. There are four hotels in this alleyway, including Hotel Basilissis. Being back from the road means it was dead quiet, no traffic noise at all even with the windows open!. You are within about 10 minutes walk of the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sophia and Basilica Cistern. Le Sufran restaurant, right on the street where you turned into the alleyway is open 24/7 and the owner is very nice and the food is good too! Gulhane Park, across the road from the Antik Cafe and Le Sufran Restaurant is a green oasis in the middle of Istanbul. How I fluked on to this perfect little hotel I will never know but this is where I will stay again if I get back to Istanbul.

Normally you can find where you are going with iMap or Google Maps but not here. However the fact that it is just off the main road in a pedestrian alleyway meant that it was quiet and private. I learned the hard way and I hope I can help others find this little gem more easily.

Great location and budget friendly. The beds were soft and comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Staff provided a crib for our toddler. Staff also assisted with arranging airport transfers and great recommendations of where to go and a number to contact and very friendly. Prior to arriving, I was able to communicate quickly via what's app with staff.

The bathroom was pretty small. We asked for a crib for our toddler, but it was it didn't have a mattress in it. We asked them to arrange a tour and there wasn't follow through on it - but we also didn't ask again and decided we didn't want to do a tour, so it ended up being a good thing (but just know to follow-up a few times/ confirm).

Located in the middle of the old city, close to Topkapi, Aya Sophia and Galata bridge. The tram station is just 5 minutes away. The room is perfect for a few days stay, has all basic facilities, incl. a small fridge, although you shouldn't expect too much space. Especially the bathroom is small and it's difficult to put your toiletry anywhere. Beds are comfy. Cleaned up and towels changed every day. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very abundant and tasty, including both Turkish food and continental breakfast items. The room we were first given was a bit small and with a small window - this was upgraded at no extra cost for a better room. In all other respects our staff (two guys in their thirties, I guess) were very nice and gave us a lot of information about where to go, etc. We would definitely stay here next time.
