Very clean hotel. Lovely, welcoming staff - always very helpful. Cleaning was excellent and our welcome and departure were very good. We were even given a gift on leaving which was a nice touch.

We upgraded through Booking.com to a room with a “garden view” but we had no view at all. We didn’t complain as we were so busy with tours and meet ups. Also taxi transfer (booked through hotel) cost us 45 euros and was exactly the same type of vehicle as we paid 35 euros for from the airport - also driver had a cracked windscreen. I’d just get a yellow taxi in future.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful especially Yunus. Excellent for transport and shops. It was nearby to the tram and so easy to get to the mosques. Lots of food places nearby as well. The breakfast was very well set out and lots of choice. Staff were very friendly, always smiling. I would definitely go again.

Room was a bit small but we weren’t there for very long.

Location was excellent just a short walk to the Hagia Sophia and tram was practically on the door step. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We would spend the end of our evening in the lobby area with Turkish tea. In particular Abdurrahman, Yilmaz and one other young man who sorted out our luggage and worked behind the bar. His last day was when we were leaving. They were very professional, kind and helpful and made us feel so welcome. Thank you!

The economy room is far too small and window opened into a very enclosed space with extractor fan. We had to upgrade to have a decent size room that we had space move in. The staff were very helpful and showed us different options we could choose from.

The hotel, staff and facilities were fantastic! The hotel is a few minutes walk from all the mosques, grand bazaar and a short trip to the Bosphorus. Mr. Abdulrahman was kind enough to give us an overview of the neighbourhood as soon as we arrived and we found it so lovely that we could be picked up from the airport safely with their private transport services. The breakfast spread was delicious and our room was cleaned and made up every morning. Every single staff member was so kind and pleasant to interact with. I will come back here with friends and family again very soon.

Great location and easy walk to the main attractions such as the Grand Bazaar & Mosques. Friendly staff. Very reasonable priced for its location.

The suite isn’t really a suite but a large family room with a balcony. The balcony door didn’t shut without locking it. Somewhat of a challenge since it was windy most days we were there so we were hanging on to it for fear of it shattering every time we went out there. The glass panel above had shattered however this may have been due to recent earthquakes. One downside is you’re hassled by local restaurants and stores trying to get you immediately after leaving the hotel doors.

Very friendly staff, great in-house Turkish bath, hospitable, mostly clean, very quiet.

They should really clean the dust under the beds at least sometimes. I dropped something, it rolled under and came up very dusty.

The stuff is wonderful- really welcoming, always trying to help you and find the best solution possible. 5/5 Location is also great- right in the city center. 5/5 Our room was very clean and spacious. 4/5

Spa area 1/5- the concept of “spa” was really weird: the lady brings you for 5 minutes to each spa area (there were just steam room and sauna); there you have to hurry up, as other people are waiting for their 5 minutes of relax. It was not relaxing at all… In addition, there was no haman, which is very strange, as Istanbul in the capital of hamam. The lady told us that we have to pay extra for hamam. Also, the choice of breakfast is very poor. 2/5

Ersin, Yunus , Abdurrahman and rooms team (Olga and crew) were great to our family! We felt welcome, safe and well taken care of. The hospitality and attitude makes your stay special together with amazing service, responsiveness and ability to accommodate your needs. I am very pleased with our time spent at Golden Royal and will search no other place for the next time. Location is unbeatable with walking distance everywhere and tram station at the corner. Good food and coffee and market is also right there at the same street so if you travel with kids or parents, it’s perfect

The hotel is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. It is quiet, clean, with a supermarket just in front of the hotel. Also there are plenty of cafes, restaurants. Public transport just few metres away but all mayor sites can be reached by foot . Breakfast is varied, plenty and tasty. You are spoil for choices. There is a complementary water bottle a day. This hotel fulfilled my expectations. We have a wonderful stay.
