Gulec Hotel was an absolute gem! The location is amazing—just a short walk to all the major sights like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The staff were super friendly and are always the highlight of the trip especially ATILLO he is always available to help and go the extra mile to make sure all our requests are met , all the staff are very well mannered and polite and always have a big smile on their face which makes the day better, this is one of the reasons we always come back to Gulec. The rooms were clean and housekeeping really do an amazing job, its cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And the breakfast? So good! Fresh, tasty, and the perfect way to start the day. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Istanbul, this is it. Would definitely come back for the 5th time!

Wonderful staff and location in Old Town....close to alot of sites and yet not located near the water which forces you to walk up big hills to go anywhere. I would definitely recommend it and I plan to stay there again in the future.

Some rooms have poor WiFi speeds and careful if on 1st floor as the street noise can be quite loud.

Hotel is very centrally located with many attractions nearby. The staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous. Good breakfast and comfortable stay. Housekeeping services are also very good. Room cleaning was done every day. We also took organized tour services from hotel which was also very nicely organised. I will definitely come back again.

Location was perfect in the middle of Istanbul, 10 min or less walking distance from the Bleu mosque. The room/ bed were comfortable and neat clean. The front desk receptionist, Atilla, went out of his way to assure an amazing stay for the 3 of us. He recommended the best cruise diner trip, we had a blast that night. What an experience ❤️ My room didn't have WiFi, he gave me a sim card for me to use during my stay, that was really the +++ for me, thanks for that. I really appreciated it 🙏

The breakfast room. Extremely disappointed. I have tasted better food in other hotels in Istanbul. It was the same thing every single day. We stayed for one week. So yeah i wouldn't recommend breakfast included deal. But the staff and hotel are great.

Staff are who give this hotel a great shine and advantage! Attila the receptionist is a great hospitable friendly man who was the best of Gulec experience in my opinion, he made our stay pleasant, answered all questions with passion and patience and assisted to have a smoother and stressfree departure! Cleaning lady was professional and was always wearing a smile :) the maid girl brought me tea at arrival, so these things in general left a good and positive memory and made other details less important!

First couple of nights the room was a bit cold due to a technical issue which got repaired and then the room was a bit too hot! The street was a bit noisy (cars, mosque, etc.) and workers made some noises at mid-night due to an issue under the ground! (Of course this was not the hotel's fault). Spa use is an extra cost which was unclear at time of booking! Finally, the breakfast was relatively good, although the scrambled eggs did not get refilled, there was no music and the staff made noises by almost the end of brealfast time to tidy the room!

Gulec Hotel is a fantastic and conveniently located place to stay, especially if you prefer to avoid steep hills. It’s just a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, making sightseeing effortless. My niece, who stays here often, booked this hotel for us. At first, we were hesitant and considered booking elsewhere, but thankfully, she convinced us otherwise. The hotel turned out to be both affordable and perfectly located. Atillo made our stay even better—always smiling, incredibly helpful, and quick to resolve any issues we had. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Superb Location, walking distance to all magor attraction, Blue mosque, Aya sophia, topkapi palace all are 4-6 minutes walk. T1. tram station Sultan Ahmed and Cemberlitach also 200-250 meter away. hotel situated in quite street, staff is very helpful. Mr.Atila was a nice gentelmen who help us to avtivate sim in my mobile and also booked our Bursa trip in good price. hotel served very good buffet breakfast on top floor, which provide amazing views of Bosphorus.

Room size is very small, and some furnture need to be replace.

the hotel is located in the heart of the Istanbul. nobody believed me about the prices, when I told about the location. most of the attractions are in a walkable distance. there was 5 min walk to tram stop, from where, you could either travel to destination or change into metro for example. sultanahmet square (aya sofia, blue mosque, egyptian bazaar, cistern basicila, topkapi) within the 10 minutes of walking. grand bazaar, suleyman mosque also in walkable distance. we took transport to Dolmabahce, taksim and balat district , but walked to galata tower, spice market, galata bridge. the staff is super helpful, speaks good English, very attentive. breakfast was good, turkish style, very good view on the boats from the breakfast room. quite nice restaurants nearby for eating.

the hotel needs renovation, doors do not close properly, some towels had holes in it, furniture is old. every time cleaning ladies took the towels, did not bring them back and I had to go and get them myself. but, according to the fact that everything was super clean, the location and price is great, these details did not really bother me.

Great location, walking distance to all the sights, lots of restaurants close by. Room spotless and a very comfortable bed, linens and towels changed daily. Could not fault it. Bathroom was a little tired and could do with some updating, but shower clean and water hot and plentiful. Atille on reception was super helpful, lent me a travel adaptor for my four day stay and booked us on a tour to Gallipoli, really went above and beyond.

Even a small hotel (24 rooms), they provide good money for value. Location is perfect: across the Cistern of Theodosius (smaller than Basilica, but still deserve the money), 4min to T1 Cemberlitas station, 8min to Blue Mosque and 12min Agia Sofia. Breakfast quite decent, with fresh fruits and vegetables, served on a roof top terrace. Daily room cleaning and towel change. I recommend that place.

Heating system not so efficient, still they find a solution by providing an electric radiator.
