The staff were excellent. The location was excellent. Walking distance to sone of the iconic sites such as blue Mosque and Hagoa Sophia.

My only issue was the noise as the hotel is pretty much off a pretty busy road. My room was on the front ground floor. But all credit to the staff who moved me to higher floor. However if you are a light sleeper then keep this in mind and request a higher room or room at the back.

Excellent location , very friendly and helpful staff , and the backside terrace makes all the money. Very nice to close the day having a drink in the patio. Yazan and Anas help us with a lot of advices ... they do not know to say "no" .

Breakfast though good enough can be changed every 2 - 3 days. We were at location for 7 days and ... same breakfast every day.

Excellent location, some 10 minutes walking from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi. Great size room and freshlty renewed furniture. Very good staff, helpful and friendly and answering our questions). The breakfast is adequate and served both indoors and outdoors in a lovely terrace. Would repeat for sure.

The breakfast is alright but could be improved: turkish coffee and tea, more hot options, some hummus and other vegetables would make a good breakfast truly great.

The location was the hotel was excellent, as you are just a short walk to all of the major tourist attractions. The staff were helpful, and helped us book taxi to get to the airport. There is a grocery store a couple minutes away, and several places to eat as well. The coffee machine they have makes the BEST coffee.

The breakfast wasn't amazing, other than the coffee but I think that might just be my opinion on a turkish breakfast. There was a couple pastries, boiled eggs, bread w/jam, cereal and a slices of cheese.

The hotel accommodation was great and the breakfast was also very good. We really liked the location. We checked in on Tuesday and the male receptionist on duty at the time was friendly, professional and informative.

The male receptionist that was on duty at the hotel on the Wednesday (10th May) morning however seemed to have a very lazy attitude and wasn't helpful at all.

The staff especially Ahmet were very kind and professional. Made the stay so much better. The room was massive with huge windows. Beautiful bathroom with marble tiles and large shower enclosure. Quality bedlinen and very comfy bed. Free coffees and hot drinks in the lounge area made stay much more comfortable. The breakfast was a traditional Turkish set out in a buffet style. We eat well and we're very satisfied. The location is fantastic. Minutes from Sultanahmet square, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. And metres from the tram station and lively streets with loads of restaurants. We only stayed one night but enjoyed our stay very much.

Breakfast - not much variety.

The Blue Gilroy is one of the pleasant surprises during my visit to Istanbul. Room: Clean, tastefully decorated, large bathroom, A/C works well. Location: Short (5 - 8 min) walk to the main Mosques and the Grand Bazars, but on a quiet small street, just far enough (300 meters) from the noise main street/tramcar route. Front desk: Very helpful, knowledgeable, and sincere. Fluent English. Conclusion: I don't get more than what they have offer from a 4-star hotel in the same area which costs 3-5 times more. Highly recommend.

For the price we paid this was hotel was perfect for our needs. The room was large the bathroom was spacious and it was as clean as hotels get if you’re not wiping all of the surfaces with wipes to check. We didn’t see dust or sticky surfaces. There’s a safe in the room. Normal sockets and a couple of USB sockets too in the room. Breakfast was Turkish style, simple but enough to fill you up. I don’t know the names of the dishes but there was a tomato based one, an egg plant based one, bread, cheese, jam, cheese, beef sausage, potato wedges, boiled eggs, tea & coffee. The reason I rated 4 for service is because one day our room wasn’t cleaned, perhaps we left the room too late. Also my pyjamas were left thrown on the bedside table. Not a big deal at all but I thought it was odd and just missing a touch of service. We asked for more teabags and they gave us some for the night but didn’t have enough for the morning. Again, really not a big deal at all and it wouldn’t stop me from rebooking. Other thing is we asked them to book us a taxi to the airport and the price they offered was vastly overpriced. Much more than the price we paid to arrive in heavy traffic. We found a better price elsewhere. Location: great for the old town. You can get to Blue Mosque & Hagia Sofia in 5 minutes. You can also close to the Grand Bazaar & Topkapi Palace. You can take the T1 tram to popular locations and across the water to Karaköy where the Galata Tower, Taksim Square & Dolmabahçe Palace. From the palace if you walk down the road you can return via the T1 conveniently. If you are unsteady on your feet be careful, in general the streets are cobbled and a bit uneven.

Room is spacious, decorations are luxurious, big Tv, good location ( nearby many points of interests, restaurants & market), comfortable bed, A/C running well & smoothly.

Pillow cases had bad smells, probably not being washed!
