This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in the 3 years of non-stop traveling. I’ve stayed here for 2 weeks in total, I felt like home and very safe the moment i walked into the hotel. This is family run and the people are so so kind. House keeping: you can get your room cleaned everyday if you wish. Room: the bed and the room is very comfortable, I asked for a quieter room, the staff is always there to help and satisfy my request or anything I need, the room I got was so quiet and nice. The bed is very comfortable, there’s always hot water for shower and the pressure is good. Room is clean and comfortable for long term or short term living. Area: there’s tons of good local restaurants, ATMs, souvenir spots, juice places nearby, it’s quiet and not busy, it’s only 10 minutes walk to the closest tram station. It is close to sultan ahmet (where the blue mosque is), and very close to grand Bazzar. They have laundry service at the hotel at a small fee, the neighborhood is so safe and everyone knows the hotel owners so I felt very safe and taken care of while I was here! Hotel: the hotel has 6 floors in total, it has an amazing cozy terrace to relax on. If you need a taxi from or to airport, you should book through the hotel, because they work with kind and honest people that won’t scam you. Staff: the family that works here is so so kind, the receptionist asks me if there’s anything I need every day, they give me enough privacy and also let me know that I can always voice about anything I need. They’re the reason why I wish I’ve stayed in Istanbul for even longer!! 100% recommended and would love to come back!!! If you’re debating where to stay as a first time traveler to Istanbul or if you’re returning here for another trip, THIS hotel is it. Don’t hesitate, book it! You’ll love it and won’t regret!

Nothing! Like I said, if there’s any problems or troubles you face during your stay, as long as you tell them, they fix it for you right away. For example, my bathroom drain wasn’t working, I told them and they fixed it on the same day!

Let me start with the rating of the hotel, it really is real.10/10👌 This hotel is located in a neighborhood (Kumkapi) that is a CHARMING CHAOS. The attitude of the staff is very warm. On the roof terrace you can drink your coffee, tea or beer, with a view... Sea, seagulls and the architectural chaos is great 😍. This is a family hotel where the staff treat you like a guest in their house, not like a normal hotel! Clean, tidy, the rooms are wide. There is an elevator. And all you need to even stay longer. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, in the small streets, life is bubbling in restaurants and cafes with live music and young people on the street. There are tram and train stops nearby.

I tried to find what I don't like... 🤔 It was hard. The stairs and hallways are narrow, but guys...... I don't remember ever sleeping in the hallway or on the stairs. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The location was near to everything. A 10 min walk to everything. The people working there were so kind and helpful. They took very good care for us. The food was very yummy. We had a problem with our room and they upgraded us to a better room with a better view. You really felt welcome, and the service was out of this world, and you could feel the warmth. They would every night order different kinds if food for me and my husband after what we liked and you really felt heard!

This was a bit on me, I should have checked before(hence the reason for the 8)... - But I would have wanted a hotell with a bigger room... their economic was small, and the standard was not very far from the economy. So, heads up for those who want a spacious room. BUT if you're just there to sightsee, more then stay in the hotel then it's a very good price for the money and I recommend it! - No buffe(but the mother who cooks make very good eggs and soup. Very cute and lovely ladies there I must say❤️). - Had no warm water (Hence the 8). We stayed there for about 8 days and the water only got fixed for the shower the second day.

Breakfast was very good, diversed and they were always available to customize it if we needed it. On the last day, because we were checking out very early in the morning they made us sandwiches to take away. They were always so nice to us, all the staff of the hotel was so kind, warming and always made us feel at home. I loved everything! I will miss the Palmera Old Hotel team! :)

I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to the incredible hotel staff who went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, they assisted us with every request — even those beyond their responsibilities — always with a smile and genuine care. Their hospitality truly exceeded our expectations and made us feel so welcome and valued. The hotel is value for money. Great location, no noise (Im extremely sensitive to noise at night, and noise from the streets is usually an issue in touristic areas of Istanbul) And a very special hug to the wonderful ladies on the 6th floor who prepared our breakfasts with so much love — you brought warmth to our mornings and made each day start with a smile. Thank you for everything! 🤍

The hotel is located in the Kumpapi area of the old city. You need walk only a short distance to find shops, cafés and restaurants. And yet, the hotel is quiet and a peaceful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The 6th floor terrace (which you can access by elevator anytime) overlooks the Bosphorus, with a gorgeous view of the Blue Mosque and the sea. Relax, have breakfast, order coffee and tea, or simply enjoy the breathtaking view. Not only is the location excellent, the service is exceptional. The shuttle service from the airport was very efficient and made our arrival easier. It was so well organized, we opted to use it for our flight out. Omar (owner) greeted my husband and I at the front desk and immediately made us feel welcome with an offer of Turkish coffee and water. He took the time to sit with us and have an authentic, warm conversation. He informed us of the trips and services the hotel could arrange without pressuring us, and we opted for a nighttime dinner cruise of the Bosphorus. This attention to service and detail (also provided by the housekeepers and nighttime staff) continued the next day. When we asked to book a taxi or Uber to visit the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, Omar suggested we save our money and take the Metro as the Kumpapi station is a short walk away. He went beyond the call of duty to insist on walking us to the Metro, helped us load our Metro cards and explained all the steps to easily get there and back. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. What a gem!

Very convenient location, you can walk uphill to the nearest subway station in 10 min; many many local, not overpriced restaurants near-by to choose from, of course there are tourists-targeted ones, look at reviews to avoid those. The staffs are very friendly and provide the best service they can offer, I had asked to fix the drainage of the shower, extra hangers, and order taxi, etc, all very satisfactory. In my opinion that's the best point of Palmera Old City.

The room is not very big, and some facilities can use an update, but it's the centre of Istanbul, and a good price, so no complains.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful - we even got an impromptu lesson from a staff member on the baglamas in the lobby! A staff member was happy to upgrade my room so I could be on the same floor as my friend - this really made my trip :) Staff answered all our questions and gave us recommendations. The view from the upper level was lovely, and I enjoyed seeing the water at breakfast. Easy walking distance to the historic district, especially around the waterfront. Close to restaurants, and convenience stores.

I could not be more happy with Omar and his family. What lovely people. They did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. When Omar realized we had unwittingly booked a smaller room than my size, they simply gave us a bigger one! (at very little extra cost may I add) I would recommend this hotel to anyone. (I don't usually make recommendations, but I felt it necessary given the circumstances) Omar really cared about our well being. While Taxis in Istanbul can be perilous, especially the 'Yellow Peril' ... he fixed that for us, particularly when we needed to get to the airport. Omar is one of the kindest professional hosts I have come across in my global travels.

The F-16 fighter on victory day could have flown lower over the roof terrace! There is nothing I didn't like about this property .... it was excellent. That pilot was at the top of his game ... thanks for the wonderful airshow and the rainbow!

Property is situated very close to monuments and Grand Bazaar. Lots of local restaurants to choose from too. Staff at the hotel are extremely kind and helpful. A big thank you to Omar, who made our trip as easy as possible. Giving us hints and tips on how to get around and recommended places to visit and food to eat. A thank you to Shazad too. Room was spacious and clean. Shower and bathroom were equally clean too. Overall, a very nice and clean hotel situated very close to touristic places to visit. Thank you!
