Although we booked and paid for a standard double room, we were given a family room, which was a pleasant surprise. • The hotel has a convenient lift and is in an excellent location—close to many great restaurants and major attractions. • The staff were generally polite and helpful and tried their best to make our stay pleasent.

Housekeeping could be improved—it wasn’t done daily and needed to be requested. A tag on the door for the guests to ask for cleaning without going to reception could be helpful. • The airport taxi arranged by the hotel was very disappointing. We waited nearly an hour in cold weather, despite requesting a cancellation, and were still charged 50 Euros—about double the cost of a comparable Uber or booking via Booking.com, which is what we did on our return to the airport. • The tea-making setup was quite basic and could be improved: a small kettle and a few cups, but no teaspoons, tea, or coffee were provided.

The staff were super nice and friendly, the hotel located in one of the most active yet chilled neighborhood. Although it was a high season when we visited Istanbul but the quietness found at the end of the day was worth it. The room is clean and tidy, there is an option of family room for up to 5 members which was budget friendly. Baran was helpful in all means, whether getting us the best deals on activities or arrange for taxis to avoid crazy fares Its a very good option for back-bag travelers (less luggage) and hikers and for those who want to sleep comfortably.

It cannot be compared to your regular hotel in terms of facilities and structure. For example; their elevator and corridor are small so if you have big luggage you will be a little bit tightened in space. We faced difficulties in controlling the AC.

Excellent welcome and friendly staff. The room was amazing with a pleasant view, could do off with an extra sofa or table but overall was alright. Location-wise was amazing, 5 minutes walk to the nearby Kumkapi station (either train or tram or MRT? Still havent figured out which is which but its enuff), and 2 minute walk to a street bustling with amazing food and cafes. Our receptionist provided lots of crucial advice for our travel and was extremely helpful during our 3-day stay. Thank you so much for everything!!

The Hotel provided a warm, welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. The clean, comfortable rooms had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious, with a nice selection of local specialties. The highlight was the exceptional service from the hotel staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, offering excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. The hotel's ideal location, just a short walk from the beach and close to the town center, was an added bonus. I highly recommend the Mamma Marya Hotel to anyone seeking a charming, family-friendly place to stay in the region.

The location is excellent. Walking distance to all historical sites you read about. Close to train and subway and tram. Clean comfortable rooms and beds. Great porch for relaxing. Nice lobby. Staff is a 10/10 especially Baran. He is so helpful and very knowledgeable and professional. Responds to your inquiries quickly. Sorts out many details with you. If you’re lucky he may even teach you the Turkish game “Okey” like he did with us. He became a true friend to our family (mom dad three boys) over our 7 nights there. Bora, his brother and the other family members who run the hotels (they have a few boutique hotels in the area) are kind and good people. We stayed in 12 spots in Türkiye over 31 nights and this was tied for our favourite. If you like being in the heart of it when you visit a city, then book here. You will not be disappointed

I loved the location, the friendliness of the staff and the locals. At first it does seem like it's in the most odd location but honestly when you venture out you realise it's perfect. The staff were really helpful. The hotel was really comfortable and a good size as we were 4 in a room. The location is spot on, the metro and train are all within walking distance. A lot of the historical areas are nearby and if you are up for a walk you can walk to most of them. You can book activities at the hotel. Food wise the hotel is in a good location where there are all sorts of restaurants. Honestly we enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable and we had no issues

The location is excellent. It is walking distance from Hagia Sofia, the blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and many restaurants for breakfast, lunch, dinner plus amenities such as shops, pharmacy and ATM. The owner Baran is really nice and helped arrange our transfers to and from the airport. The price for this was a little more than we expected but he explained that was due to inflation. However, the car was comfortable and the driver was nice and polite, we felt very safe so definitely worth it than risking it in a yellow taxi.

This is a budget hotel. You get a clean, private space and a private bathroom. I think people have to note that before writing negative reviews. We paid under 100euros per night and felt safe and comfortable. Not much more you can ask for at this price.

I recently stayed at Mamma Marya Hotel in Istanbul, and it was fantastic. The location made it easy to visit attractions like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and very clean and comfortable. Berat and his brother provided exceptional service, always helpful and attentive. I would definitely come back next time I visit Istanbul! Mamma Marya offers great comfort, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

fantastic hotel , extremely well located close to restaurants , shops , all you need is in the very close area, historic sites also are not very far about 15 minutes for good walkers otherwise you have all means of transport few steps away, nothing also Baran was very kind with us and because of my mom was tired and needed more rest the last day he allowed us to make late check out and helped me with all the luggage, his colleague also (forgot his name) was very helpful called taxi for us, advised us about shops in the close area even went himself to the taxi station to bring us a taxi because mom couldn't walk to the station .so I can recommend this hotel because of this kind behavior and it's good location and comfy rooms .

nothing everything was perfect

The location is good, near the main attractions and there's a tram station about 10 min walking, there's several stores and places to eat. The staff was really helpful and friendly. I booked a room with a view and it was really beautiful

There are a lot of hills on the nearby streets, so it's a problem if you arrive with a lot of luggage, but it's just something to keep in mind. The location is very good.
