The Royan Suites was a small boutique hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They shared some great advice about local places of interest. We enjoyed the delicious, personal breakfast each morning. The staff were keen to practise their English and we could learn a 'little bit' of the Turkish language. The location was perfect, allowing us to walk to places such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, trams and ferries. There were great rooftop restaurants nearby. We spent 3 weeks touring in Turkey and this was our favourite accommodation.

I cannot think of anything that we didn't like.

The hotel I stayed at was Royan Suites Hagia Sophia. This is a different hotel from Royan Suites. If you are booking, you should be careful to pay attention to the name and book the correct hotel, the one that has Hagia Sophia after the name. The Royan Suites Hagia Sophia is a brand new hotel. It’s just a lovely hotel. The room was very nice and very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space for your clothes and a long sofa that came in handy for organizing my things. The room and the hotel facilities were very clean. The breakfast was wonderful. There was a lot of variety in both Turkish food and western food. They will prepare an omelette if you would like one. It was possible to get pretty much any coffee drink you want, just plain coffee, espresso, latte, cappuccinos and other coffee drinks, as well as tea. The location was great. It was 5 to 10 minutes walk from prime attractions like Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern. It was just a couple of blocks from the Bosphorous. There’s a sidewalk that runs alongside it and it makes for a really wonderful walk in the evening. And last, but certainly not least, the staff was great. They were friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure that I had a great day. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. .

There was not a thing that I did not like.

After a disappointing experience in Madrid, Royan Suites in Istanbul was a breath of fresh air. This boutique hotel delivered everything that our previous accommodation lacked—true comfort, thoughtful service, and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff set the tone for an exceptional stay. The room was well-appointed, modern, and, most importantly, *comfortable*, with proper climate control—something we had shockingly been denied in Madrid. One of the absolute highlights was the incredible fresh Turkish breakfast. A beautifully presented spread of locally sourced ingredients, prepared with care, and served with genuine hospitality. It was the perfect way to start the morning. Royan Suites exceeded expectations in every way. If you’re visiting Istanbul, this is exactly the kind of accommodation you hope to find—charming, welcoming, and effortlessly delivering the level of service a great hotel should. Highly recommended.

Too short of stay and noisy workers next door.

I traveled to Istanbul for the first time with a friend, two girls in a new city and really loved this small boutique hotel. The breakfast was AMAZING! Location is perfect, you can walk everywhere from here. The hotel staff is so friendly and helpful and we really felt at home and well taken care off. Dodo de hotel cat is sweet and beautiful. Everything was really really clean. We had the room with the garden which was also fantastic.

This place is Perfect

Comfortable rooms, good breakfast, polite staff, central location. Overall a nice place to stay in Istanbul.

Parking is not guaranteed, as a family travelling with our car it was very important that we have parking. It is announced as parking available for 10€ per day -reservation not needed, while it is more like reservation is not possible. We were lucky to finally find a place to park but it took us over an hour. Extra set of towels was not provided for our child.

Location is great for moving around Istanbul. Stuff very helpful if you need any information. It is really pleasant to have a lot of cats walking around in front of the hotel. Breakfast was really rich and tasteful.

The hotel is placed in the middle of a street full of tourists’ restaurants and you have to get rid of the very pushy personnel every step you take.

Nice small size hotel, with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very tastefully decorated with Turkish paintings, good sized rooms (we had a room overlooking the street - worked out very well). Sparkling clean bathrooms. Water bottles in the room at no cost …little things that make a difference 😊. Elaborate lovely Turkish breakfast set us up well for the days! The best part was an absolutely amazing location in the heart of Sultanahmet, which made it walkable to the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque. We even walked across town to the Galata tower.

there wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Location is awesome. The 2 main attractions are literally 10 to 15 minutes walking distance. Good variety of choices for food around the area. Be it restaurants or a small convenience stores or even a bakery.

My only issue was heating wasn't working as well as I had hoped but that's probably my fault for not asking how to use it properly. Other than I couldn't fault the place.

I stayed for 9 nights at the Royan Suites, I was greeted with kindness, helpfulness and a big smile! They exceeded in everything, always on hand to help. The man who works nights, he was so friendly, on the first night we arrived he took the time to show us the maps of things too do..he was most welcoming. It’s a small hotel, intimate, and you feel like you’re at home! The hotel cat kept me company a lot which I adored! Netflix was a bonus!

Wifi kept disconnecting sometimes. The street the hotel is on, you get continuously harassed by neighbouring restaurants (maybe if you’re not a man this wouldn’t apply) it can get quite uncomfortable sometimes and I deliberately used to sneak past them because of it.

Cannot speak highly enough of Royan Suites. From the moment you enter, to the moment you leave, the staff are so caring, helpful and nice to talk too. Excellent location, fantastic breakfast and so close to all the main attractions of Istanbul. Big rooms with lovely bathrooms. Very comfy beds. Thank you for a great stay - the staff are amazing!
