Walking distance to many restaurants, some major sites, local-feeling, not touristy although there were obviously family tourists staying in the area. Breakfast had good variety, though staff could show more friendliness, ie smile, greet guests. Room on top, 4th floor was nice and quiet and nicely furnished.

The front door was heavy and rubbed against the carpeting, limiting it from opening fully to bring large, multiple luggages through easily. Lobby decor was dark, seating had a damp feeling and air quality was a bit musty but clean. Front desk a bit cluttered upon guests first impression.

Excellent location and very friendly management. This hotel was a perfect match for the goals of our trip, which combined family vacation with business. Good balance between cost and amenities.

WiFi needs to be upgraded. Signal level on the third floor was very low, and connection was dropping constantly. Captive portal they use requires re-authentication after each reconnect, and tries to assign a new IP address. The problem is, these days mobile devices change MAC addresses every time they reconnect, so DHCP server tries to assign a new IP address, and soon they run out of addresses, thus making connection impossible, until the system frees older unused IP address. Long story short -- WiFi is the weakest point.

Great location on the tourist strip for a lively entertaining time. The staff are for the most part outstanding - very helpful and kind! Clean and exactly what it says it is. Good breakfast that changes a bit daily a bit for variety. Comfortable bed. I stayed in the suite with tub (bathroom very nice) and balcony and loved the fresh air from the open door! It is noisy - because you are on a tourist strip - but I used earplugs and slept very well each night. Overall I would stay there again in that room with balcony!

No proper desk/workspace in room. That area is really expensive imo so to then go work at a restaurant or cafe ends up adding up cost-wise. There are workarounds for sure!

The Location is excellent, lots of eateries, Breakfast ok, Room was fine, The Staff were very helpful and welcoming, The Restaurant Next door Albura Bistro serves excellent food at great prices, I would say this was one of the best Restaurant on that strip.

Maybe a room with a view would have made the experience more enjoyable.

The cleanliness of the hotel, the rooms, the bathroom, everything was perfect.Everything was clean, the room was cozy. They have soundproof isolation, hot water at any hour in day and night. So close to the tourist atractions ( Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque etc) , close to restaurants,close to transportation. The pictures correspond to reality.

Good breakfast with a touch of Turkish flavour. Prepared and helpful personnel at non stop reception. Best of all was the location right at Hagia Sophia's corner, 5 minutes walk from all to be visited places.

We got exactly what was promised, nothing negative.

My family and I had the most amazing time in the Senatus Hotel! First, you cannot beat the location it’s so close to so many tourist attractions like the Blue Mosque and the Haiga Sophia, etc. The hotel is very clean and nice, the breakfast is also good. The absolute best thing about the hotel is undoubtedly the staff. Ismail (sorry if i’m writing it wrong) and his wife, Hassan and everybody else were so so helpful, booked us private tours, a day cruise through the Bosphorus, our trip to Capadoccia, gave us endless great recommendations and warnings about things to look out for. They went above and beyond to make our trip incredible and so memorable. Definitely recommend this place and if given the chance we would love to return

A family run business, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is excellent for all the main sites of Istanbul. The restaurant downstairs was also very good and highly recommend.

I didn’t find anything I didn’t like. I thought it was superb!

Its in an amazing location, the room and terrace were very clean and the room service was excellent, Ismail as our host was just great - he assisted us from before we took off from the UK via WhatsApp and was able to ensure our airport transfers were timely - he made it so easy and pleasant and safe for us to arrive from the hotel in a VIP taxi. Our room wasn’t initially ready when we arrived but we knew of this due to the constant communication via WhatsApp (we arrived very early in the morning and originally check in was at 12pm) but Ismail made sure our bags were safe so we could travel out to the City and enjoy Istanbul without us dragging all of our luggage (Hagia Sofia is literally a 2-4 min walk, it’s so close!). We didn’t really take advantage of the breakfast but only on the first day - the food choices are fresh and great as it gives you a taste into what to expect in Turkish breakfast if you’re new to it. The service and treatment was impeccable, they are served on time and with a smile and they speak good English and they make time to have a conversation and inform you how to plan your day in case there are restorations or political blocks that may affect the tourist attractions and give alternatives. We had the top floor room with the terrace and a spa bath and honestly it was value for money and the Spa Bath was just *chefs kiss*. We would book here again in a heartbeat!

Its not really an issue but sometimes the elevator button doesn’t respond to calling the lift, as it’s touchscreen. The trick is to press a thumb or a finger lightly then press down with the surface of your finger/thumb for it to respond. There’s no need to flick and and bash at the touchscreen in frustration if you find it doesn’t initially respond

Our room was lovely- large and with everything in it we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were very helpful and the free breakfast was great- lots of different options that changed daily. The location is very handy- close to lots of attractions a d restaurants etc
