I chose Sultan Hotel & Hostel because it seemed like the least expensive, cleanest place to stay in Sultanahmet. I looked at a lot of other places that were hotels vs hostels, and between the added cost and repeated mentions of bedbugs (I saw several mentions of them, with repeat complaints at multiple locations), I went for Sultan, which had the most consistent ratings for cleanliness. It was as clean as I'd hoped (the cleaning person came through my floor daily), and although my single room was pretty small, it was more than enough for me. The shared WC and shower room were always clean and fine. Additionally, I expected to have some noise and sleep issues while I was there (it was mentioned in multiple complaints), but maybe because I was on the third floor and in my own room, but no outside/partying noise penetrated. I am a light sleeper and slept well, with no need for earplugs.

They only have stairs, which I didn't realize upon booking. An elevator would've made everything perfect. Lugging my stuff up and down multiple flights was not fun, although they did offer to help with my luggage.

The staff and owner were super accomodating and helpful and friendly. The breakfast made a really good place to meet other residents and make friends. The room was very clean. A short walk took you to the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, plus the location was surrounded by food establishments.

I wasn’t thrilled, as an old lady, to be given a room on the third floor—and a couple of older gentlemen shared my dislike of the climb. At night the noise from the near by bars was really loud. The step up to the bathroom from my private room made me nervous, as there was no hand hold in case my wet feet from the shower made me slip.

I loved everything! It’s very clean, comfortable, has a wonderful view to the sea! It’s also in the city centre so all the main sights are super close :) I’ve also met many nice people in this hostel and really enjoyed breakfast!

The owner is an amazing man, very kind and helpful. Sadly, I had a not very nice conversation with a receptionist who was very much russophobic or just extremely into the politics and philosophy stuff (good for him, no need to tell me) which in my opinion shouldn’t be a thing in such a situation

The staff. They can make a big difference for my stay. They are very helpful and english-speaking. It's so easy to live her. I like that the breakfast are included so I don't have to go anywhere to find it. There are a few work-spaces downstars for digital nomades to! Beds are super. I love them. Warm and cold water!! Very nice area.

Hm.. the wi-fi could be better. But if you go downstars then it's fine. Facilities?? What do you need? It's a hostel and you will be out most of the day. I think they have what I need.

First of all the location is superb. A walkable distance to all major ancient attractions, just walk around twice in the daylight, then you understand the area and tram station and local rail stations are nearby.( Not metro). The receptionist is super friendly and always has a helping hand,easy communicable too.the location is on an ancient street with plenty of restaurants and pubs( prices may be high due to its location. They have a cafe attached to the facilities and will get a standard breakfast for free. Value for money facilities and nice location.

The view from the rooftop was fine and the breakfast was good for the money and the hostel was only 5minutes walk from sultan hamet tram stop and right in the middle of bar's and café on your doorstep

The rooftop had no seating area to enjoy the view and no kitchen for making snacks or hot drinks no laundry service available

Everything was perfect. The room, bed and bathroom amenities were very comfortable, the location is great for a short stay- in the heart of the old town, within the 5 minute walk to major attractions. The stuff was very welcoming and helpful. The stuff speak good English, 2 ladies speak Russian. I shared a room with a nice girl who gave me traveling tips- everything was amazing. There are boat tours leaving from the area. Everything was easy and convenient.

The soap dispenser in the room’s bathroom was empty.

Only one thing I believe it’s important and it’s curtains around the beds, so we don’t have to bother others with our own flashlights or even when the sun comes up it doesn’t disturb the sleep or for just privacy preferences. That would be the only thing that’s needed. Other than that was awesome

Right in centre of Sultanahmet. Breakfast same every day but if like me you want to eat before you start expolring it was fine. This is not a 5* hotel room was small but OK. Remember you get what you pay for and this is good for the price we paid.

Very helpful staff and good location. They have a bar and serve food all day. There are many other bars/restaurants near by.
