I stayed in the Economy single room which really was almost ideal for me. The manager, Aziz, was very friendly and helpful the entire time. LOCATION: If you are able to walk comfortably, the location is great. It's a short walk (about 15 minutes) to Sultanahmet Square/Hippodrome, about 1/2 of the walk up a hill. It's about the same time up a hill to the Çemberlitaş tram station. For airport transfer I used the Havaist buses to/from the Askaray *Metro* station. From there you can walk a flat route to the hotel for about 30 minutes, or take the tram from the Yusufpaşa tram station (just south across the main boulevard and about a block from the Askaray Metro) or the Aksaray *tram* station to the Çemberlitaş station. The tram line runs from 6 am to midnight. During the day (6 am to midnight) you can also take the Metro to and from the Istanbul airport using the M2 and M11 lines. There are taxis everywhere if you need one (I never did). Also, there are many restaurants and small markets nearby. I liked the Kim market the most, and it was very close. There is a park across the street (be nice to the cats!) and the neighborhood seems very safe at all hours. ROOM: The bed was about a full size by US standards and very comfortable. The room is not very large so having room on the bed to lay things out was helpful. There was a large hot water kettle on a small shelf near the bed, and a small refrigerator under the shelf. Above that shelf was a place to hang clothes and a couple more shelves. The bathroom had a good sized shower and small sink (both with consistent hot water) and toilet. There is also a small bedside table. The Wi-Fi was good and worked well for me. I didn't use the TV. Only stairs (no elevator) were available to the top floor where my room was. Housekeeping was daily and excellent. The window opens for fresh air. The air conditioner provides both hot and cold air; the heater was needed and it worked well.

Small concerns: It wasn't a large room (Economy single) so the bed is the only place to sit besides the toilet. The shelf with the kettle is the table used for eating, sitting on the bed. A microwave oven would have been helpful but that doesn't seem to be a common amenity at Istanbul hotels.

The owner of the hotel is very polite and helpfull, gave us some tips on how to get around the city and which scam restaurants to avoid. Always asked if anything is needed or if everything's ok when he saw us. Gave us his phone number to call or text if we need anything. The rooms were tidy, nice, everything was clean. Nice design of the rooms, comfy(super comfortable beds). We got a room with a view of a park which was nice. The air conditioning was beyond what we expected, in the heat of 35°C outside, we could make it 18°C in the room which was refreshing after the sightseeing in the summer weather. Location of the hotel is very convenient, it is next to a nice park in a more quiet zone. A lot of good restaurants nerby, close to a lot of must-see places(Ayasofya etc.). Public transportation is also very close. A lot of souvenir shops that are cheaper than the ones close to more tourist's places. Also the prices are very convenient. In summary, we loved it! Definitely a place to come back to.

No meals were available at this hotel. Weeks before arriving we received some friendly messages from the Owner. These gave local advice about travel and directions to the hotel, which we found very useful. The Owner, although he didn't speak English used a special translator program, which speaks numerous languages, to converse with his customers. The gentleman is elderly, and I was touched that he used such a method, and we conversed quite a lot, about family, past life and local sight-seeing attractions. There was no smoking at this small hotel, and quiet hours were designated, which I was happy with. The hotel was in quite a busy area, with many eateries, and supermarkets very close. The park opposite was quite large, with a large pond and many seats. At night this park was quite popular, with a bit of noise in our frontal room. This was nothing off putting. We were surprised by the prices at the eateries, but found several more reasonable to our pocket. Major attractions were up a quite steep hill, 10 minutes from the hotel. There was also a local market 10 minutes walk in another flatter direction, which we found very well priced, and almost everything was there, including fruit & veg.. clothes, shoes, and hardware. The hotel area also has a very good rubbish removal service from the 2 large bins provided, there being 3 daily collections. A friendly Owner, VERY efficient housekeeper, and the location made for an EXCELLENT 10 days stay at the Sultan's.

The hotel was perfectly sited, but the steep walk up to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque etc; was a good daily walking workout. We bought an Istanbul card for transport, but not for the famous local sights, which would have saved us quite a chunk of Euros.

We came with my husband the recommendation of our friends. The place was way above our expectations. The hotel is close to everywhere, walking distance to all historical areas. I think it is the most decent and beautiful hotel in Istanbul. There is a decent family atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and smiling. The hotel met our expectations in every sense. I would like to mention especially about the cleanliness, it's great!!! The owner of the hotel, Mr. Aziz, is a really good person and very helpful, and he gave us advice and suggestions about the special places to visit in Istanbul. It is a place I can definitely come back to on my next trip. I can say that it is the only reliable place for your holiday in Istanbul!!! Thank you very much for everything 🙏🏻😊

The stay at the hotel was extremely pleasant. The location is great—close to the central part of the old town, surrounded by shops, cafes, and restaurants. Yet, it's positioned in a quiet area with no traffic in the evenings, which is very important for me in Istanbul, as in my previous experiences I couldn't sleep because of the noise outside. Here, it was very comfortable for sleeping. As is typical in the old town, there are some uphill/downhill streets when walking, but if you choose the quickest route (I went via Çemberlitaş), it's not a problem. The host was incredibly attentive—he made sure everything was comfortable, safe, and that the room had everything I needed. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and toilet paper provided. The room I chose was on the first floor. It was small, but perfectly sufficient for me—I mainly care about having a clean and quiet place to sleep well at night. Considering the value for the price, this place is a solid ten out of ten.

the rooms are small but the location for the price is brilliant. Around 10-12 minutes walk, albeit steep walk, to the metro and grand bazaar. So it is in a relatively convenient location. But for the price, you get great value due to the location.

There are stairs at the property and no lifts, and you have to help the staff to transfer the luggage to and from the room. if you are carrying 20+ kgs luggage, going through the spiralling staircase can be a bit tricky especially for older people. The staff tries to and is mostly helpful; but are very resistive to comments and suggestions; and the communication barrier does not help at all in these instances where it gets tiring really soon.

It is a wonderful hotel to stay in. The room was clean and of high standards. All the tourist places are nearby. For shopping also it was in an easily accessible place. The park in front of the hotel gives you fresh air whenever you like. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Our check in was at 2pm. But due to the flight schedule we came at 6 am. The room was arranged at that time and we could check in at that time. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Istanbul. We were highly satisfied.

The location is great: a small shop right and a park with a fountain are right next door. The room has a small fridge to store drinks and other perishables. The room was pretty small but fine for the price and the available space was used efficiently. Also, the AC is both quiet and located right above the bed – ideal if you enjoy a light breeze as you fall asleep.

Be warned: the walls are very thin. This didn’t bother me as I was travelling alone and the other guests were mostly quiet, but you can definitely hear people talking in other rooms and if you are a light sleeper, you will probably wake up when another guest uses the shower in the morning.

Highly recommend this comfortable hotel for a budget traveler who is seeking a convenient location within a 15-20 minute walk from the start of major historical sites. A grocery store is one block away; a beautiful park is directly across the street; and inexpensive as well as slightly more expensive restaurants are less than a block or two away. The owner, Ahgeez, went out of his way during my 5-night stay to make me feel welcome. Thanks, again, Ahgeez.

The affordable location of the hotel is near Sultanahmet and Topkapi and the Basilica Cistern. The tram is easy to get to any desired direction. The hotel is quiet, atmospheric, clean and comfortable, which allows you to have a good rest after an active day through the streets of noisy Istanbul. Very friendly and caring staff - they helped book a transfer and made sure that your stay in the hotel was as comfortable as possible! Thanks for everything, I will definitely be back!
