A very beautiful and quiet hotel located in a strategic location just steps away from the Bosphorus. The hotel is only three minutes away from the tram, bus, and Taksim funikuler stations, and just a five-minute walk from Galata Port, which features a stunning shopping center and a large number of restaurants overlooking the Bosphorus. The best thing about this hotel is that you feel like you’re among family. Mr. Sam and his team are always available and attentive to all our requests. How delightful are the coffee and tea prepared by Sam! The room is modern, tidy, and well-organized. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, and we’ll be back,inshallah

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sam for his exceptional professionalism and care, as well as to all the other amazing staff members. Whenever I needed assistance, they were always there with open arms, constantly checking if I needed anything and even helping me with things beyond their duties. This is truly rare and deeply appreciated. The location is absolutely fantastic, very close to the sea and wonderful attractions, making the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone!

The only downside was that when booking different rooms for my family, one of the rooms was in the Annex building, which is a separate building located just 15 seconds away from the hotel. I wasn’t informed about this in advance and had to pay an additional fee to stay next to my family. This was not clarified before booking.

The staff was amazing, especially Sam who made everything possible to make us feel at home. He even walked us to the nearest tram station and showed us how everything worked! Also the location is great and is close to all the transport links you'll need to get around the beautiful city like the bus stop, tram station and ferry for the asian side (all 5 min walk). We needed some assistance with a few other things and the staff were more than happy to help, always very accommodating and always greeted with a smile every single time! I cannot recommend enough. Very minor as the hotel is great value for money but the beds could have been a bit more comfy.

Really nice hotel that is located in a quiet area but in a walking distance to main sightseeings. Staff were incredibly attentive and helped us with all the questions and requests we had. Special thank you goes to Sam, who have been there for us almost any time of the day. Something to be aware of if you have disability or travel with small kids: if you decide to walk to Galata tower, it’s just 25mins away however with a lot of hills and climbing stairs. If this is a challenge for you, consider taking a T1 train which can bring you to most of the historical places.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and from the start till check out (SAM) was very helpful and welcoming if you need to book tours or how to get aroundthe place he will guide you well if you need anything no matter what time it is he will provide you with anything you want we are very fussy about cleanliness of room toilets but for sure room was spacious clean well maintained the mattress was very comfortable every morning you get house keeping clean around the room literally we felt like we are at home not in hotel we will definitely will come back here again and again no doubt it is not easy when you going somewhere first time and confuse if hotel is same as pictures i can asure you 100% the rooms are same as shown in pictures plus they arranged our airport both ways and without any hassle plus after check out they keep your bags safe ***** starts for sure 🙏

There was nothing to dislike

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel for our first stay in istanbul, great value for money with a fantastic location next to every type of public transport (tram, ferry and metro all within 2 mins walk) which made getting around a breeze - we were never more than 30 minutes from anything we wanted to see in the city and didnt have to get a single taxi the entire time. Hotel and room were absolutely spotless and the turndown service was perfect everyday. Sam on the desk and every other member of staff met us with a smile - started and ended the stay with great tea and coffee. Would 100% stay again and couldn't reccommend enough.

The amazing location & staff are top at this hotel. The location is close to everything & all attractions as the tram that goes to Sultanahmet just one minute walk & will take you in front of the Mosques in 15 minutes. Also you can walk up a steep hill 10 minutes to Taqsim square or you can take a funicular which is 5 min walk from the hotel. Also loads of cafes & restaurants around. The staff are friendly & very helpful. They answer any question & guide you where to go & how to purchase the transport card even they go with you to show you how. They always offer free drinks whenever you want with free bottles of water to take in your room. The room was clean & has a closet, the beds were comfortable & the bathroom was clean & has all toiletries.

The room was a bit small & that was the biggest one they have so a bit crowded with 2 big suitcases.The bathroom needs more hangers to put the towels especially hand towel. Also our room door lock was broken. The air conditioner in our children room was not as cold as ours a bit warm even when they put on the lowest temperature.

I booked a taxi for the return trip to the airport through the hotel. I was told it was a fixed price: 1,200 lira. One minute after we got into the taxi, the driver told us that if we wanted a shorter route (37 minutes), it would cost 200 lira extra. If we wanted to pay the amount guaranteed by the hotel, the trip would take longer: 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was my fourth time in Istanbul, I knew everything – the costs, the time – but I didn’t want this vacation to leave a bitter taste. Maybe you could look into this; becouse it’s not normal.

The staff, in particular Sam, was attentive to our needs. Sam was always ready to recommend things for us to do and always offered us drinks when we returned to the hotel. We bought a SIM card from the front desk and did some currency exchange too there, thus saving us valuable time from going places for those transactions. The hotel offers transfers to and from the airport at reasonable prices. Union Hotel's location is tops! This hotel is a minute- walk from the Findikli bus stop, 3-5 min walk to T1 tram stop, and 8-10 min walk to the funicular up to Taksim Square, 9-12 min walk to the Kabatas ferry terminal (the range depends on how long your legs are). Sok Market, a convenience store (9a.m.-9p.m. daily) is on the street right above the hotel. The climb is steep though. For breakfast/coffee, Kahve Dunyasi (6:30a.m. - 10:00p.m. daily) is about 300m away towards the funicular entrance. For high end shopping and dining(some cafes open until 2a.m.) walk about 7 minutes to Galataport.

Be aware that on weekdays, starting close to 9a.m. there's always music or announcement blaring from the school behind the hotel. But since we were always out of the hotel earlier, the noise didn't bother us at all.

The staff are unbelievably friendly. They're quite upbeat, and they try so hard to make you feel comfortable and safe. This is especially important in a city where not many people speak languages other than Turkish. They greet you each time you return, ask you how you are and if you want something to drink, and then offer to help you figure out your plans (transportation, site seeing, restaurants, etc.). This is a big perk for the overwhelmed traveler who has landed in Istanbul without a plan. The room was a bit small but perfectly clean and comfortable. The hotel is also extremely well situated in the city, with immediate access to a tram stop in addition to good areas to walk around. Basically, this was the perfect place to stay for a couple of travelers who just wanted a safe, friendly, easy, comfortable spot to serve as a home base.

Our room looked out on a construction site that was active during business hours. That's totally unavoidable, and presumably will end at some point. However, it wasn't a great view, and there was some noise. We didn't mind, since we were out and about all day and barely noticed it. Also, to be fair, the lobby is a super comfortable place to hang out. Again, great for active travelers.
