The Location - Hotel is situated right next to the lake which offers excellent views specially in the mornings and evenings. The Room - Rooms are spacious and situated in separate small buildings which offer privacy and a quiet environment. The Food - The buffet is extremely good. The variety of food on offer is amazing. Everything is really delicious. Loads of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The Activities - They offer a lot of unique activities that bring you closer to nature - kayaking, bird watching, cycling - and able to arrange safari tours to the nearby Minneriya National Park.

I have stayed here many times in the past (esp when living in SL) and it is always a pleasure. Fantastic food, service and attention, rooms and nearby excursions. September really is a very good time to come and there were even elephants on the dried lake at the back of the Lodge.

The fact that we had to pay per person for the trip out to Minneriya park rather than per jeep. I have done the safaris before from here, always good, but the price for a 3 hour trip (over 150£) for a couple is now very high indeed, if not extortionate. It would be fairer to have a fixed price per jeep and share out the fee amongst, say, max 6 guests. You might then attract more interest.

Good location for sightseeing, good size and comfortable room. Staff all very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Although breakfast and dinner are both buffets the food was good quality and good variety.

I think the pricing in Sri Lanka needs to be more transparent. The 10% service charge is fine as long as the money goes to the staff in addition to their ‘basic’ wage (I asked a member of staff and they said it did) and the 18% vat is fine - the government needs to rise money. But they need to be up front - if you’re working to a budget and 30% is added to everything you need to be aware when booking, not innthe fine print. Perhaps an issue for Booking.com to address

A brilliant resort with great accommodations, fantastic services and lots of nature. Despite the resort being large, we did not feel it as the bungalows are nestled in a forest/jungle, around a lake. Their staff is very attentive and accommodating, their food is great and the facilities we used (mostly the pool and laundry) were great. Food selection is huge and most items were delicious. We were positively surprised to see that prices for dining (especially in-villa dining), drinks and laundry are all very competitive for the area. We used this location as a hub to explore the area, e.g. Sigiriya Lion Rock, Anuradhapura and others. For this it was perfect.

Nothing really, just recommending to the property to advertise their services better. We only accidentally found out about in-villa dining, the option for an authentic Sri Lankan cooking experience, the boat tour or their cute little tree house by the lake.

Everything! This place is amazing! Our room, for the price, was incredible. We had a two-storey apartment with a living room, 1 bedroom downstairs and 1 upstairs. It was massive. The pool was brilliant too. Big enough for several games of ball to be going on, without getting in anyone's way and a large baby pool too, so you didn't have to worry about hitting any young ones. The food was incredible too. So much varied choice. Even my fussy 13 year old daughter found food she'd eat! Absolutely brilliant place. Couldn't recommend it more. The grounds are amazing too, alongside the lake and there is loads of wild life to spot, even from the pool area! Monkey's climbing the palms around 5pm, stealing the odd chip from people's loungers, giant squirrels eating bananas given them by the restaurant staff, even Hornbills flying in at dusk!

Absolutely amazing stay !! Scenic location , wild life in plenty and amazing staff !! Special thank you to Chef - Salih , helping guests with a smile and all the other chefs as well as action station teams . Issue with the a/c on checking in but sorted by Venuka within minutes and he kept checking on us after that too and rooms upgraded complimentary to apology for any inconvenience. Ladies in the Hoppers corner - kusumalatha, , Rajapaksha, Karunawathi just complete the culinary experience. Full of smiles and just so happy to see guests enjoying hoppers . Safari with kamal to Minneriya was fantastic !! Entertainment was amazing ,special mention of Music-by Sanju on cajon and Sanka the vocalist / guitarist Restaurant team serving us Gamini , Sumith , Senarathna, kusira , Thakshila were so helpful Nature trails to the village with - Chinthaka was amazing Thank you Samagi , room service fo spotless rooms and the beautiful elephant design wishing us well the day before we left , that just completed our stay , so memorable and will definitely be back

Our family of four had such a memorable stay at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana! The Deluxe Twin room was spacious and comfortable, with a big bathroom and bathtub that the kids loved. The buffet offered lots of variety, and Chef Ravindra deserves a special mention for making delicious, kid-friendly complementary meals just for us. The entire staff—especially Sangeeth, Thilmika, Amanda, and Kalum—were so friendly and welcoming, which made us feel truly at home. The pool and gardens were very well kept, and there was even a little play area for the kids. Perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway—we’d happily return!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a fantastic stay at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. We were greeted by Asanka, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. He was so kind to our children, made sure we never missed a thing, and was available for us literally 24/7. When we realized afterwards that we had forgotten something in the room, he even arranged for it to be delivered to one of our next accommodations – truly exceptional service! The swimming pool is amazing and the surroundings are beautiful, with Lion’s Rock just a short distance away. When we return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely come back here again. A very special thank you to Asanka for his warmth, care, and dedication.

We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful hotel and enjoyed every second of it. Very relaxing, calm, peaceful nature. Our room had a spacious lake view and waking up to that view was amazing. Very big, deep and well maintained pool. Staff is extremely helpful. They served with a huge small and made our experience memorable. Special mention to Maneshi and Kasiya from the restaurant. They are amazing! Also special thanks to Chef Sadun for a lovely dessert surprise (coconut puding) and Thilinika who prepared egg benedict just specific to our daughter each day. Last but not least, thanks to Dulanjelee!

The site is awesome, lovely colonial style little houses next to the lake, massive pool the little one loved. Great central point for visiting surrounding sights. Great massage, good food for a buffet all-inclusive (not many restaurants around so we're glad we picked it). Monkey fun all around. Had an awesome time here, would come again.

We expected a little bit more for the price and the 5 stars in terms of luxury. Communication with the hotel was often difficult and trying to get information pre stay etc, but overall we had an excellent experience. Didn't like the hotel advertising how not to use third party travel agents for tours etc as it's somehow dangerous, when their prices for trips etc were double the cost and the local businesses were great.
