Good location, comfortable beds, powerful shower, good breakfast (could have been a wee bit bigger but fine). Nice staff.

Parking on site was limited. Needed to park at the pub over the road and move car later on. Bathroom smelt of cigarettes when we arrived. Bar was a bit rowdy and probably not ideal for kids, so families eating should go in the restaurant side not the dining area off the bar. Persons in next room was playing tv loud until past midnight (strangely the rooms next to us weren’t residents ‘private’ so unsure who was making a racket!!).

Our second breakfast was very good (after mentioning that we did not want burnt egg). The rooms were great - clean, roomy and comfortable with a fan included for the hot nights. Bathroom included a bath which was really nice with sufficient hot water. Very friendly and helpful staff Free car parking

Towel rail was not beside the sink so had to drip hands across the floor. On day one, Breakfast had only one table storing all the cereals, juice, milk , hot water urn, crockery etc - this was very cramped and awkward. Day one the breakfast was not so good with overcooked eggs and hash browns. Didn't like the limited cereal choice- would be good to have muesli, granola, yogurt.

The accommodation is above the pub; however, it was very quiet and we could not hear a thing. everything was as we were expecting, the bathroom is pretty basic, but clean and tidy and the bed and bedding was better that any 4* place we have stayed - super comfy! The kids were in a room with 3 single beds (no bunks) which was great. The staff were so accommodating and helpful - we felt like welcomed visitors in a small coastal town, it was nice. Breakfast was great!

There is not much going on in Amble, but the accommodation is fabulous for a stayover.

The room was excellent, comfy bed, large walk in shower, toiletries in abundance, tea, coffee and biscuits also given in abundance. Breakfast superb, with a great variation to cover most tastes. Staff, both in the bar, in the breakfast room and around the place, all very helpful, pleasant and very friendly. A brilliant establishment which we thoroughly recommend plus a great bunch of regulars who patronize the bar. Brilliant!!

What's not to like, only a saddo could find fault with the Wellwood.

Staff were excellent - really friendly and helpful, especially the lady who served the breakfast (which was really good). Unfortunately kitchen was closed due to some technical issues - but breakfast was still done for us and based on that I think the food on an evening would be very good. Location was also v good

Nothing - it was very good and worth the money

The breakfast was nice, however no choice was given as to how we liked our eggs and they were a bit underdone.

We advised the staff that we would like breakfast at 9am, however we came down around 8.45 pm, to have a coffee before breakfast and we could not access any of the hotel as the doors were locked. I know there was coffee facilities in the rooms, but we preferred to have coffee in the restaurant.

My friends (3 ladies) and I booked this hotel and we were a little worried that the room might be a bit small. We'll the room was perfect, plenty of room and plenty of coat hangers. Bathroom was huge too, and very clean. Considering the hotel is a pub and restaurant, the there was little noise. Breakfast choice good and food good. Location good and no problem getting in the car park.

We had the family room just for two of us and it was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. It was well stocked with toiletries and tea and coffee. The staff were very friendly. The traditional breakfast was good.

The breakfast menu had interesting choices like eggs Benedict and smashed avocado but none of these were great whereas the full English was good. There was a bright green fire exit light in the bedroom which stopped us from sleeping well.

The property was perfectly placed as a base to visit different nearby locations and the room was comfy and clean. The pub and all the staff were also friendly, we joined in with the pub quiz on the Tuesday night and the breakfasts were good too. We would definitely return.

If I had one gripe it would be that the room was a little warm - there was a heater/fan in the room though to help.
