First of all, the location of the The Inn @ Aird a' Bhasair is idyllic and beautiful. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and went out of their way to help us to the room allocated for our stay. The room itself was very comfortable and contained all of the services we could have asked for and was very quiet, which was to our liking. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was of the highest order and the service was excellent. Likewise, breakfast was superb, with a very wide selection to choose from and all we selected was delicious. We cannot speak too highly of The Inn @ Aird a' Bhasair. We wished we had booked a longer stay at the hotel and toured the area for a little longer than we had planned.
We liked everything about The Inn @ Aird a' Bhasair. There was nothing to dislike.

We weren’t sure if our room would be ready when we arrived mid-afternoon, but as soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed and handed our key without delay. The room itself was simple yet spacious, with tea and coffee facilities, ample toiletries in the bathroom, and the added bonus of a fridge … which is very useful when travelling. This was our final night after a fortnight touring the islands, with an early ferry the next morning. Breakfast was kindly and promptly prepared for us, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We took a lovely walk in the evening, soaking in the beautiful views. Both of us agreed we’d like to return, as there is still so much in the area we’ve yet to explore. A highlight was our visit to Armadale Castle gardens … peaceful and well-tended … and the museum there, which offers a wealth of insight into the island’s history and the story of Clan Donald.

[a] Spacious room with comfortable bed and living space. [b] Excellent cooked Scottish breakfast - although the coffee was rather weak to my taste. [c] Enjoyable dinner in the evening [d] Useful check-out time of 11am which allowed me the maximum benefit of my stay at the hotel before heading for the ferry to Mallaig on the mainland. [e] Hotel situated in a peaceful part of the Isle of Skye with easy access to ferry from mainland.
[a] No-one available at reception when I arrived to check-in at 7pm - although I was able to find someone to help me in the restaurant [b] Hotel seemed a bit short-staffed.

Good food, friendly efficient staff and beautiful and quiet location. Walkable to Armadale Castle and gardens, and the pier for Mallaig ferry. Could hardly be surpassed for long views across the sea to the mainland mountains of Knoydart, and Morvern/Ardnamurchan, from our room! The Inn is an historic building, so expect combed ceilings which the views more than compensate. We were fortunate with sunny spring weather, but there are many artists and craftspeople, with galleries and cafes to divert you if you aren't so lucky. The whole peninsular of Sleat is worth exploring with lots of walks and historic landmarks . We walked to Dunscaith , a short one with great views north to the Cuillins.

There is a big parking local to the hotel. We were warmly welcomed. The room (sea view) had a good size. The view directly towards the seaside was stunning. The king bed was comfortable and had two separate mattresses. Perfect for a good sleep. We had a drink in the local bar and dinner. There were several ales on tap. The food was very delicious, among the best I had in the past few days in Scotland. The Restaurant was very busy also with many outside guests. The staff was very friendly and passionate about their work. I felt honored to be a guest.
Nothing that I can think of.

The very friendly & extremely helpful staff, who made us feel incredibly welcome. Special mention to Maddie who made us feel so welcome! The evening meal was absolutely superb and restaurant bar was very comfortable and relaxing. There were lots of local walks from the hotel and the staff were happy to advise in where to walk.
Just one area for improvement. Breakfast service started at 8.00am and there were probably around 15 guests ready at that time. The services available (staff & drinks etc) were nowhere near sufficient to meet the demand, which was a shame.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Evening meal was excellent, and much better value than most on our recent travels. Room was clean and comfortable.
Having checked my booking information we had booked for a sea view room but were put at the back of the hotel. Breakfast started at 8am and there wasn't a booking system, so all the residents appeared for breakfast at the same time which made it chaotic as the staff were overwhelmed. Breakfast was good quality when it arrived but there was a problem with the coffee facilities.

The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious in the evening and the breakfast. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Clean room and bathroom, well kitted out. Manager went to extra lengths to accommodate us and our 2 big dogs at meal times .
Only drawbacks were the noise and language at times from the locals in the bar who could clearly be heard in the games room and the restaurant. Also the smell of cannabis from them smoking outside was strong in our room at times!! The bed was very comfortable apart from the duvet not being big enough for the size of the bed?

All very good
Staff where very friendly and helpful. Sadly my dinner that I was so looking froward to (The Venison) was totally over cooked , although the waiter told us all their meats are done medium rare. Kitchen ruined a good piece of meet . This seems to be endemic to Scotland as I watched a table beside us at Forgans in St Andrews return a $100.00 Chateau Briand and a $100.00 Tomahawk rib steak both requested as medium rare and coming out as Show Leather much the same as your kitchen.

True to its name, this is more of a country inn than a hotel. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, and also suitable for a longer stay (if you know how to spend your time in the surroundings). It may not appear to be brand new, but it is generally well maintained and does not feel run down. The restaurant, contrary to what the website suggests, is relatively simple in terms of décor, but the food was found to be above the British country inn average. The vicinity to the Armadale-Mallaig ferry turned out to be very useful. Parking just beside the house, as you would expect at a country inn.
