First stop on our NC500 holiday. Hotel from the outside doesn’t do itself justice looks ever so slightly scruffy, but don’t be fooled, inside it’s beautiful, at a guess recently refurbished. Our room was huge with vaulted ceilings and beams a super comfy bed and newly refurbished bathroom. We had dinner in the bar which was superb and breakfast the next morning was great too, would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it.

Only slight downside is carpark is a long way from reception. So check in BEFORE unloading your luggage. There are clear signs at the hotel to advise of this.

Had booked upgraded superior king room. No view but was a 2 room suite with a large bathroom. Great breakfast and wonderful staff. Had couple evening meals in restaurant as well and food was great.

Bathtub looked large but bottom of tub was narrow and very slippery as well as very high sides to tub which made it difficult to get into. Can’t imagine this being comfortable to use for bathing. Mattress was too firm even for a person like myself who likes firm mattress’s.

I booked with trepidation. The photos on Booking.com made it look like a step up from a youth hostel but, at the time, it was the only hotel in the vicinity with availability. Sure enough, when we turned up it looked as if it had seen better days. The rooms were clean and warm, everything worked as it should, the staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent. Surprisingly, they had the best vegan menu we'd come across on our trip.

The room decor needed some attention - but that's didn't affect the quality of our sleep, the food or the service.

A lovely one night break in a room near the back entrance which was handy for transporting our luggage. Quiet room until the evening when our 'neighbours' conversation could be heard. It soon died down by 11pm so no real problem. That said, the other side were snorers from hell. Nothing wrong with the hotel, it's facilities or the staff but I am a light sleeper. Nice food in the restaurant for an evening meal and breakfast was a substantial help yourself buffet which was varied to suit all. Nice range of ales and malts in the bar too.

The staff makes this hotel a delight, from Rose at the front desk to David in the restaurant, they made it such a memorable stay and management should commend them.. The rooms on the ground floor still have several sets of three stairs for those booking with mobility issues. Otherwise, a perfect place to overnight after a long train ride. It is just around the block from the train station and a block from bus stops for those traveling without a car. The restaurant was lovely and even had gluten-free stickey toffee pudding!!! Let them know your dietary restrictions and they will have options for you!

If you have mobility issues, this may not be the hotel for you, simply due to the layout of the ground floor rooms. Be sure to ask.

Our three person party had two different rooms, and the other one was practically a spacious suite with a beautiful, high ceiling. We also had a bath tub and a massive bed. Breakfast was very good, the mushrooms and tomatoes were very well seasoned. The service was great and helpful. There was a good parking space in the backyard. The location is handy for traveling to Isle of Skye, if you don't get a room from the island.

The building is old, so there are no elevators, but a lot of stairs and steps which might pose a problem with handicapped people or just people with large, heavy luggage.

We had dinner in the restaurant and were very impressed with the food which was obviously freshly prepared and there was a good variety to choose from. Soup, main course and the two desserts were all excellent. The staff were welcoming and attentive, Breakfast in the morning was slightly disappointing. The staff were attentive-we were the last diners-but the help yourself buffet hot food was a little dry and showing signs of the end of service!

The hotel itself was very conveniently located close to the bus stop and train station in Kyle. Everything be it a shop or restaurant was within easy walking distance.

Personally the size of the room is a bit cramped for my tastes, but there’s not much I can do about that. I would say the shower glass could use to go all the way down the length of the tub. I was getting a lot of water on the floor. Plus centralized air would be great.

The location was great. Almost everyone was very nice and friendly. The dinner was delicious and the bar was fun. My room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice a big. I don't understand why the bathroom light switch is on the outside of the bathroom though. Maybe that's a UK thing.

Again the light switch on the outside of the bathroom. I realize there is no fixing that. Need more hooks or shelving in the bathroom. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast. Waffles or pancakes would be a nice addition. And I don't want to cost anyone their job or anything but the older, balding, gentleman wasn't very pleasant. To me or my fellow travelers. If you're going to work in hospitality. Be hospitable.

Thanks, we really enjoyed our stay at the kyle, great location for a well needed bit of down time on a big trip. We really got to like Kyle of Lochalsh.

We booked many months ago and its a shame we were put in the basement rooms with stairs for our cases. I think we could have had better prioriity. The sound travelling down from upstairs bedroom with a person who was actively walking about until very late was annoying. Sound travel is an issue and our rooms werent of the updated ones this hotel is clearly doing.
