The Dornie Hotel is in a perfect location in a quiet village just off the main road to Skye next to Eilean Donan Castle. Our bedroom was large and very comfortable (the bed was truly enormous). Breakfast was very good with nice choices. The staff were really excellent, more than willing to answer any question and make sure you had what you needed (I wanted to wash a few things and was helped to make sure I could work the washer and dryer and had the right change). Can thoroughly recommend. The hotel wasn't serving dinner that day but they own the pub next door and got in touch so they could book us in there. The food was just fantastic.

Nothing really

First time using The Dornie Hotel. Great location overlooking the sea and Eilean Donnan Castle so had a very pleasant view from our bedroom window. Room was reasonably spacious with large, very comfortable bed, desk, chairs, bedside chests and full supply of tea and coffees. bathroom had large shower, large soft towels and soaps and shower gel provided. Food at Dinner when we arrived was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Breakfast was continental buffet with hot food cooked to order. All very good.

Not what could be better, but bear in mind there is no lift and you need to climb stairs.

I’ve stayed at the Dornie before and the rooms have been refurbed in that time. Lovely, warm welcome. The bar is always very lively at the weekends. Food was excellent, both my dinner and breakfast. I could have done with a TV in my room, but the broadband has improved massively since last staying so I had no issues accessing downloaded material.

Very little. Given where it is, in terms of the north-west Highlands, the choice of accommodation, particularly out of season, can be limited. So, the room rate reflected that scarcity I think. That said, I was happy to pay and thought the vfm was satisfactory.

We had the family suite for the four of us, and it was wonderfully private and comfortable. The rooms and beds were perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. We loved dinner and drinks at the bar and, of course, breakfast! Jinxie was so nice and welcoming, and told the best stories. We really enjoyed talking to him! The town has a very quiet, local feel with beautiful sunsets! The walk to the castle was lovely! Would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable room, spacious. Nice bath with good hot water. Quiet location. Breakfast foods were delicious. You can walk to the Eilean Donan Castle from this location to capture some beautiful early evening pictures. We enjoyed the pub and music next door. Few restaurants in the area so you need to get to the The Clachian Pub early to get a table. Restaurant closes at 9:00 and music begins at 10:00. Pub gets extremely crowded for the music.

Lots of steps and no elevator.

Every staff member we spoke to was so pleasant, kind, and welcoming. The rooms were charming and comfortable. The location and view from the front of the hotel was so lovely. We wanted to stay longer! And if I was back in the area, I would stay again in a heartbeat. The breakfast was fantastic as well--made to order!

The only thing we didn't like was that the shower/toilet was not ensuite. To have to leave our bedroom to use the toilet is not the nicest. Nevertheless, the toilet/shower were spotless and nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff! We arrived after a very long drive and they straight away got us a table for dinner in the pub despite it being really busy. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was so comfortable. We were staying for a wedding at Dornie Castle so the location for us was perfect. It’s situated in such a lovely setting with stunning views all around. We will 100% be coming back to stay here again!

The only thing that comes to mind is that the guy that runs the hotel and all the pubs in the area was quite rude to our group of friends that were drinking in the pub just next to where we were staying. All of the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely though!

We chose The Dornie for its easy access to the Isle of Skye. We stayed in room 5, which is actually two separate bedrooms with a shared shower, making it perfect for a family. Room 5 has recently been redecorated and was very nice. The photos don't do it justice. Breakfast slots are prebooked and breakfast is freshly cooked when you arrive. The staff are very friendly!

I would probably comment on the prices if our room wasn't so nice

The service was outstanding. We were called a few days in advance to ask if we would like to book a table for dinner at the local pub. The food there was amazing. Otherwise, we would have struggled to find a place or dinner since Dornie is so small. The room was nice and clean. Tee and coffee were provided. Good breakfast and vegan friendly options.

Excellent location close to Skye Bridge and Eilean Donan Castle at walking distance. Food was quite good, anyway not much choice in the area. Room was quiet, reachable by multiple stairs up and down. Nice bathroom with hot shower.

Hotel is quite worn out, room's door was not fitting, no TV in the rooms, locked wi-fi with poor bandwith, breakfast service was not made with customer's spirit, no smile, no welcome. Very expensive for the quality.
