It was great location to the airport , staff were really helpful upon arrival , there is no lift and the receptionist gave us a ground floor room as we had an early flight , the pillows were dreadful , flat as an envelope ! The other one was just lumpy and unbearable , sleeping was a nightmare , I was up in the night the receptionist at night did offer to bring more pillows to the room but my husband did manage some sleep on his and I didn’t want any staff in the room while my husband was sleeping it thought it was a little undignified for him , so I did decline the offer , but the offer was there . The room was basic and clean but fine for what we needed , on before I forget no plugs at all by the bed just one plug in the room so to charge your phones for your flights and anything else you might need charging was a nightmare ! The plug was the other side of the room , definitely need plugs in the room but other than that we were happy simple faults but the staff were friendly and it was clean .

No plugs by the bed only one plug socket in the room you share with the kettle , and the pillows were absolutely shocking

The staff were really friendly and helpful and would go out of their way to assist. The breakfast was excellent, everything you would expect for a full breakfast. The room was spacious, ample room in the bathroom too. When I arrived I had found only 1 parking spot which was just as another car was leaving. Im not sure if there is any other parking elsewhere but it seemed limited on the front side. Best giving them a quick ring before you arrive, they're extremely friendly and helpful, im sure they'll provide further details on additional parking

From walking through the door everything was perfect, friendly reception staff with a warm welcome took the time to tell me how to find the room explained restaurant open times and bar opening times, The room was very clean and tidy and must say one of the biggest hotel rooms I have stayed in everything was perfect Had an evening meal in the restaurant again the lad on the till was very friendly and welcoming again even though they were busy my food arrived quickly and I must say the curry I had was delicious All in all a great experience would definitely come back if I'm in the area again

Staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to all our needs. The room was very clean and anything we needed we were given upon request (extension leads, hairdryer etc). It was in a very good location as it was only a 10 min drive to Barry island and in close driving distance to local shops (quite long journey if walking). The full Welsh breakfast in the morning was delicious at a charge of £9.50 per day (or £6.50 for continental). The restaurant/bar was lovely and a good place to relax in the evenings if you wish (bar stays open til 12am). Overall it was a lovely experience and we will definitely be back! Thankyou for a lovely stay in Barry!

Very welcoming. Staff friendly and informative!! We tried to order an Uber to take us in to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium but struggled to get one (we’re from the midlands and they’re everywhere!!). The staff member on reception told us it would be quicker and way cheaper (we were initially looking at about £30-£35 one way with Uber) to get a local taxi to Barry Train station then take train straight to Cardiff Central, which is what we did..! £8 local taxi to Barry then £6.30 anytime return each on the train & the Principality is only a 3 min walk from Cardiff Central..!

Nothing all good..! Being right beside the airport isn’t an issue either…no plane noise at night..! Not a negative, but just a note for future guests…, the ‘what you think’ are complimentary biscuits in the room, aren’t..!! You will be charged on leaving!! 😬& there’s no note in the room to say you will be charged..!!

My plane was delayed, so I arrived too late to order food. However, the lady who welcomed me (I suspect she may be the proprietress) offered to arrange for me sandwiches with crisps and a side salad which was excellent. My breakfast in the morning was probably one of only two exceptional breakfasts I have had in the last 15 years. The sausages, bacon, black pudding, eggs and hash brown were top quality and beautifully cooked and served. A delightful overnight stay!

Nothing, for my visit. But my wife has stayed before for early flights to Spain; she is diabetic and does not risk accepting the alternative breakfast pack fearing it may have too many forbidden components. I think she would dearly love to enjoy a later flight and partake of your in house breakfast, or enjoy a takeaway suitable for diabetics, eg yoghurt, fruit, cheese, continental meats.

As we were late arriving on 23/5/2024 the staff on reception and the staff in the bar spoke to chef as the dining room was just closing. They still organised our order. We had the most beautiful meal starter and main which was outstanding. The deserts on the menu were to die for. The menu had many choices compliments to the chef. The experience in dining room was lovely the dining room was was very well presented and spacious. The waitress who brought our meal was so friendly and welcoming and her customer care was exceptional yet so personal. I cannot recommend it enough. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the the beds were comfortable. We had a lovely selection of tea and coffee and biscuits. The bathroom was clean and the water was hot we had the use of a bath or shower another bonus and toiletries . The night porter was very friendly when we were checking out in the morning. This hotel is very reasonable and it's just minutes away from Cardiff Airport. The staff on duty on 23/5/2024 were all so professional, reception dining room chef and night porter I highly recommend this hotel to anyone using Cardiff Airport or staying in Cardiff for the individual hospitality this hotel offers and the fantastic staff.

Nothing I found it very good for travel

Close to the Cardiff airport, with helpful staff. The breakfast bag for early morning departures is a gem of a good deal - hearty breakfast bap, fruit, juice, yogurt, muffin, croissant and granola bar. If not using a private car, then taxi fare is 8 British pounds, flat fee. Walking is possible, but without a pathway, one must be careful. There is sufficient parking, and the restaurant does have a variety of dinner options, and offers breakfast. As others have noted, the mattress is not foam, but has springs, which some may no longer be used to. A hair dryer may be requested from the front desk. The price is a good value.

Everything, can't complain about anything. We've stayed here twice now the day before our flight as it's a £7 taxi to the airport that the front desk reception offer to arrange for you. They offer a wake up call service which for my partner being hard of hearing is a great service, as for myself I'm a heavy sleeper so I appreciate this service as well. Staff are always so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend & will be staying here again.

Clean, good value for money, staff very good and attentive despite being clearly undertsaffed. Food in the restaurant was fantastic, as was drinks selection. Prices as you would expect. Brilliant value for a budget hotel.

Very understaffed, poor lady was manning bar as well as reception, but i appreciate this will be to save costs, i just felt very sorry for her. Not the hotels fault but we had a room at the back on a hot day so had to open the window, and the circus was in the field behind, so it was extremely noisy whilst shows were on.
