Room was lovely and on the ground floor. Decor a little tired, but room totally functional. Bed really comfy; had a good night's sleep and room temperature was just right. Staff were helpful; especially as they sorted out our parking eye fine, which was incorrect as we stayed at the hotel. Breakfast was lovely. We will stay again

Clear signage when you check in to remind guests about registering your car on a screen. We were asked to write it on a piece log paper. Few days after our return we had a fine letter from Parking Eye. Apparently we should have tapped our car Reg into an electronic screened, but we never saw one. as noted above it was swiftly resolved by the hotel. No other negatives.

Parking at no cost. Cost is reasonable. Breakfast was very good with one reservation, both tea and coffee were not hot enough. We have stayed here a few times over the years so we know the location and what to expect from the hotel so no surprises like you get sometimes with a new location. Would stay again

Book the wrong room on booking. Com. Wanted a double.but booked a twin by mistake. I am a dyslexic and get confused easily. If the description was two singles or one double it would help. We were able to change to a one double but it costs us extra. I was grateful that we could swop. As with most hotels the duvet was to high a tog rating meaning a poor nights sleep. I do travel with my light duvet from home but was too tired to get it out of the car!

Very enjoyable food - well presented -well cooked. Couldn't fault the veg curries especially, or any of the veg food. Service was excellent. Rooms very comfortable. Staff, without exception, were helpful, friendl y, and most importantly - very attentive towards our dog. Lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed being down by the lake watching dragonflies, damsel flies, the ever watchful heron and of course, the stars of the show: the ?mother swan and cygnets. Daddy swan seemed to be missing. As swans generally mate for life, I was fearful for what might have happened to him

Forgot to mention when we were there that one of the windows in the room didn't open properly; but you've probably fixed that by now. Room 204. Hot water for tea at breakfast not really hot enough and I didn't seem to get a really enjoyable cup of coffee out of the machine.

We booked the Copthorne Hotel Cardiff-Caerdydd last minute after a long 5+ hour drive to visit and adopt a dog. We needed a place for three nights, and I am so glad we came across this hotel. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were absolutely amazing and looked after us with genuine care and warmth. A special thank you to Dianna and Joanne, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, their kindness, flexibility, and dedication to customer comfort truly stood out. The customer service here is second to none, and it made all the difference during our trip. Thank you for making our stay so smooth, relaxing, and memorable. I honestly can’t wait to return — next time, hopefully under less last-minute circumstances! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service and a warm welcome.

It would have been amazing to use the pool and the gym but understand that it had only just reopened and looking forward to returning to try these facilities out.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was a good size, bathroom had lots of hot water with good pressure. Restaurant/bar served nice food with a good menu. Hotel has undergone a bit of a makeover with nice new carpets and curtains. Good location on the outskirts of Cardiff. Near by massive M@S plus Tescos and Mac Donald’s.

No Aircon in bedrooms. Some of the fittings in the bathroom are in need of a refund like the taps. No USB plugs. With the windows open there was quite a bit of road noise especially in during morning rush hour. These items were minor especially when considering the price we paid. Would not hesitate to book again.

The bar was refurbished and renovated and looked lovely. The views of the lake from the bar is nice and the value for money is great. Breakfast was nice too and a big selection. Also has a lift. Close to shops, Tesco, m and s etc. Waitresses and bar staff and receptionist were lovely and friendly.

When we arrived, the manager was speaking to the receptionist about an issue and continued to speak to her while we were there which I thought was unprofessional and if she was being disciplined it could have been done later. Rooms are dated but for the money it's understandable.

Small group of us staying for one night, hotel was great and staff both in the bar/ restaurant and reception couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We spent most of the afternoon there watching the Ryder cup then went into Cardiff for the evening. Rooms clean and great value for money, breakfast was plenty of choice both hot and cold and always topped up. Will be back again if we come up again.

About 15 minutes from city, but with free parking and cheaper accommodation was a lot better option than staying in the city.

We had a really good time at the Copthorne Hotel Cardiff. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of space even after adding an extra bed for our son — which was a big plus for us as a family. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of hot and cold options, and everything was fresh and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall, a lovely experience and we would definitely stay here again!

Our room was newly refurbished and nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff at the hotel are welcoming and very friendly. There is even a fantastic hairdressers on site called Mike, well worth a visit

Nothing really, we did book a superior "lake view" room and our room was side on looking at the bar/restaurant, but you could see the lake if you looked left lol it didn't spoil our stay in anyway and it was a large, quiet room

Friendly, helpful staff from first minute we arrived. Massive very comfy bed, very good water temp and pressure. Great value for money at price paid. Good hot and cold breakfast options.

Not a huge dislike but the noise from the road on the lakeside rooms could be quite loud day and night with an available fan in the room but no AC having the windows open was impossible and the room was a little too warm.
