Very thoughtfully decorated, well equipped, extremely clean room. Sharon was very helpful and she ensured that I checked in comfortably. I was on a business trip and found it very convenient as cereals, milk & bread butter jam was provided for the morning breakfast before leaving for an early morning meeting. I couldn't use the bar as I was busy with my office work but ppl visiting on leisure trips have multiple recreational options to make their trip more fun. The wifi was good and I could easily use it till late night for some official work.

The property was beautiful and the room was perfect. Very comfortable with beautiful garden view.

It was a shame about the hot tub. I booked here purely for the hot tub and it wasn’t in working order. It was disappointing and if I had known the hot tub wasn’t in use I would have booked something different. As this was the reason for the visit was for the hot tub use. I know it wasn’t the fault of the hosts that the hot tub was not useable. But I think I would have liked some notice of the nature of its condition so I could have seeked out alternative accommodation with a hot tub. As this was the whole purpose of the trip so was a little disappointed but we made the best out of the situation we were in.

Host is so lovely and made us feel welcome. Everything you need is provided down to bread and fresh milk in the room, toiletries etc. The garden is a delightful fairy wonderland with a hot tub and even a bbq and pizza oven ! Inside there is a pool table and a library of books ! House is very clean and homely and felt like we were staying over at a friend's. Can't wait to return

Tathan Herd was a very nice guest house. It is a converted barn situated in a very quiet area very close to St Athans. Sharon, the host was very friendly. The room was a reasonable size, very clean & comfortable. The bed was comfortable & I slept well. There was a microwave, toaster & kettle in the room. Although, a cooked breakfast wasn't supplied. Sharon had kindly supplied cereals & milk There was bread for toast & butter & jam in the fridge. There was also a bottle of water in the fridge, plenty of tea & coffee plus biscuits & cakes. These extras were unexpected & a very kind gesture. There was a small TV but we could only get BBC channels. However, there was a nice communal lounge area. There was also a private garden area for guests too. There were a few things that could have made the stay better if you were staying longer than one night but we had a good overnight stay & would book again if we were in that area overnight.

There were a few things that perhaps I could suggest which would have improved my stay. A lamp at the side pf the bed would have been nice. There were 2 lamps in the room but not near the bed, Black out curtains as the room did get light early. I had my own sleep mask which helped. Perhaps the TV could be situated in a better place because you had to watch it at an angle from the bed. We did find that the water in the shower wasn't as hot as we would have liked but it was warm not cool. There were only 2 coat hangers. no problem for us as we were there for one night but maybe more were needed for a longer stay. Finally, we couldn't get any internet which I guess is because of where the property is situated.

Second time staying with Sharon at Tathan Herd & certainly won't be the last! Location is perfect & so beautiful just like the property! Hot tub is an added bonus & some great pubs/restaurants within a 5/10 minute drive. We ate at the Hare & Hounds had an amazing meal then came back to relax in the jacuzzi. Sharon was very accommodating & as there are only 2 rooms with no one else booked in on our night of arrival we had the place & the hot tub to ourselves. Thanks for everything Sharon we'll see you again in the new year. Joe & Naz x

Undoubtedly, the best property we've stayed in whilst journeying around the country for our various visits. Check in and out was seamless, and rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast choices were amazing with cereals, waffles, and toast available in the room. A huge choice for tea and coffee options is also available. Absolutely no doubt where we will stay next time we are visiting friends in the area. Would give more than 5 stars if allowed.

The house itself is spotless, cosy, and so homely that it honestly felt like staying over at a friend’s place.

Sharon was lovely! She made us feel so welcome and made it beautiful for us. Every year on my husband's birthday I always book a place with a hot tub and they didn't disappoint. On the first night we enjoyed the hot tub then went back to our room to watch a dvd and drink wine. In the morning Sharon made us a gorgeous cooked breakfast and set it all up in the garden, we felt like royalty! We then went to Cowbridge for a nose, Barry island and then in the evening we went to the blue anchor for food and then back to the b&b to play pool in their communal area and then back to bed to watch another dvd. The room was comfortable with complimentary items like milk in the fridge, breakfast items and plenty of drinks with alcohol. It was clean and well presented. Thank you for giving us a lovely break away.

Maybe too many photos in the communal area but it's your home so I do understand it and as I said above, I always take my husband away to a place with a hot tub as we would normally spend the entire evening and night in it. You did explain your times and I do understand as you live at the property, so maybe start a bit earlier if noise late at night is an issue? As it goes the times didn't bother us as we had plenty to do and maybe getting an early night wasn't a bad thing, I slept like a baby and was refreshed for your glorious breakfast! Lol

It was amazingly cute loved all the little nooks and attention to detail was lush little goodies on bed and in baskets everything from bread to jam and goodies in the fridge

There were a couple cobwebs nothing to write home about and the hot tub was lush but had a funny smell to it and the dart board was not hanging on the wall but behind a sofa and we couldn’t see where to hang it also we couldn’t access the bar which was a bit of a let down

Very beautiful half of the house with a lot of space. The owners were in the other part of house and they respected our peace. Many decorations, beautiful rooms and the bathroom were suprising for us. There are even billard table and stylish bookcase. The house exceeded our expectations. Except amazing interior design, there was clean and combortable too.

There were no negative aspects.
