We stayed at the Victoria Inn for four nights while visiting friends in South Wales, and also taking a trip to the Royal Mint in Llantrissant - absolutely perfect! The location was very quiet (even though the premises is an active pub, and there was a darts match on our first night, there was no noise apart from the occasional horse trotting by), and very conveniently located for what we wanted to do. Our room was extremely comfortable - nice firm bed, and a shower which had plenty of pressure (didn’t have to run around in it to get wet - which is very rare nowadays judging by some of the places we’ve stayed at…!) and that you didn’t need a PhD in mechanical engineering to operate - a simple “twist to start, turn for temperature..” arrangement. We were booked as “Bed & Breakfast”, and the breakfast choices were great (see attached menu..) and really set us up for the day - we also had two evening meals, on our first and last days, and these were also excellent (on the Friday before we left we took advantage of the “Steak & Grill Night” special offers, and I had a fantastic rump steak which was cooked to perfection 😋!). Our hosts were very friendly and chatty - they’ve been running the place for twenty years so they’re definitely doing something right…, and their little dog MooMoo (hope I’ve spelled that correctly..), well all I can say is they had to check our car when we left to make sure we weren’t stealing her…🐶! All in all we had a perfect break here, and would have no hesitation in coming back next year when our friends celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary.
Absolutely nothing!

The building itself is very beautiful and full of character. All areas we visited were clean and very well maintained and the Christmas decor was beautiful and added to the ambience of the place. Staff were very friendly and the food was phenomenal. Can honestly say we had the best meals there that we've had for a very long time when dining out. Well done to the kitchen staff. Wifi was good, and our room was lovely. Very clean and spacious. Comfortable bed and good facilities. Shower cubical was spacious and had a good temperature and pressure. Room was warm and smelled fresh. Location of the inn is perfect for exploring the countryside, and was very quiet at night. Lots of parking available.
Nothing. This place is perfect!

The room is very cosy, very well laid out. A lovely bed with such soft bedding, 4 pillows. Two chairs, so no need to lay on the bed if you watch tv. A good selection of tea and coffee, with plenty of milk. Plenty of hanging space, ironing board if needed. The bathroom, has a good size shower, enough towels to last, hair and body shampoo if needed, two bedside cabinets. Lovely decoration. The breakfast is well presented with enough to keep you going until lunch time. The pub also does very good food, not noisy, it is a local pub, but I did not feel out of place. In a village location, you can walk along the road, farm land from my window. This my third visit, two more being planned. You can to the the High street - where you will not starve !! Easy for Barri, Porthcawl, Penarth. Thank you.
Nothing. It is the best I have stayed at, with a late check out on certain days.

The young boy who worked there was an about delight. He helped check us in,showed us up to our room and explained how we could get back into the hotel when we returned later in the night. The same boy was working the next day at breakfast and again could t do enough for us, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him! We were amazed by the lovely selection available for breakfast and "the Victoria inn breakfast" was beautiful! The room was a great size, beds were spotless and very comfy too! Bathroom was also very clean and had all you needed. Thank you for a fabulous night stay!
Room we stayed in (room 4) was very warm. It wasn't a particularly warm day so unsure why the room felt so warm but there were multiple fans available within the room which helped cool us down.

Our hosts waited up for us because were were at the Cowbridge Food and Drinking Festival. A late nightcap in a lovely old pub with of dark rum and some light banter in the company of Beryl her partner (mine hosts) and a few friendly locals. The Vic is a beautiful old structure in a stunning location; I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was spotless and exceedingly charming with stunning views of the local countryside. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and so we slept the sleep of the good and the just. Woke at 5:30am to the sound of myriad birdsong, a brew and a shower that I could have spent hours in-again, the on suite was pristine. Then onto breakfast. I don't often eat fry ups but I would recommend this one. Black pudding, local pork sausage, egg and beans; my wife couldn't finish hers so I heroically stepped in to polish that off. I would give this place 10/10, real value for money and a family business-perfect for that short stay in this amazing part of Wales.

The location of The Victoria Inn was perfect for exploring the magnificent Vale of Glamorgan. The staff were friendly and welcoming and our room was spacious with a king sized bed and power shower. The breakfast was superb lovely to chat with the manager after we'd eaten too. The restaurant was also brilliant - great ambience and fantastic food. We loved our stay. Thank you.
The room got a little stuffy as the weather was hot but opening the window a little on our second night solved that issue. Otherwise everything was perfect.

The inn is in a small village in the Vale of Glamorgan so it was very quiet. The room and the welcome were warm on a bitterly cold day. The room was excellent and the facilities there very good. We had an excellent - and copious - supper and a lovely cooked breakfast the following morning. Although a Tuesday it was a darts night so the place was animated and friendly - clearly a valued 'local'.
It was a great place to stay and the only thing to improve the breakfast would be to provide fruit and maybe some croissants or bread other than sliced for toasting.

Very helpful and made welcome. The room was cosy, very comfy bed, high standard to cleaning, well decorated, lovely bathroom, everything you needed. Hair dryer, tv at right height to watch from bed, or a desk/dressing table. full tea and milk, plenty of it. good selection of towels, fluffy, iron and board. enough clothes hangers. good furniture - bed side tables, good lighting. Dinner, a very good selection of food, but not too many, local pub but still made to feel welcome, helpful serving staff, but not hovering all the time. Breakfast, good selection of cereals, and yougurts, toast, then a full breakfast, yummy sausages, would set you up for the day. Pub in village location, with nice walks or cycling. This is done to a high standard, but not impersonal. The pub is located with easy access to Cowbridge, Penarth.
Nothing could have been better. They have thought about the room and what is in it.

Really comfortable, great staff, awesome breakfast - what’s not to like
Completely accept the need for emergency lighting, but the green glow from the light over the bed is a bit annoying Also, not a complaint but tricky for me - I have a bad neck so the new pillows the size and consistency of massive marshmallows wasn’t the best for me, but that’s a personal preference
