When arrived at the hotel, we were met by Tony who was very charming and introduced us to the hotel, we found our rooms, which were very large and very clean. Their was an iron and ironing board just outside the room, with a water machine, allowing cold water all night and day, while there. The breakfast in the morning was very good quality and they even accommodated our 6 year old and never charged for him. The staff were very friendly and on Good Friday left easter eggs out for our little one. This I found to be so nice and really thankful to them.

The staff and Tony were lovely, they could not do more for you if you asked. Check in was a breeze as was check out, the offer of a cooked breakfast was great and it was cooked to perfection with the staff asking if all was ok and if we needed any extra tea or coffee. The room had a Microwave, Fridge, Kettle and TV. The room was very clean and the beds were quite comfortable (although nothing beats your own bed I feel)

Nothing really, the decor is a bit dated but did not affect the stay in the slightest.

The staff were brilliant especially Tony and Jane, very helpful. Sorry l can't remember the other lady name. The breakfast was good value for money. Plenty to choose from. The room was very clean and had plenty of space.

The shower as we had to get in the bath for the shower and we both are disabled with legs problems. I did tell Tony and Jane and they said we should have told them to correct this problem. In future they told me to request for room 1 as it has a walk in shower suitable for disabled people. Also the pillows was an issues as it was too flat for me. Tony told Me on the Sunday that there was pillows on the shelf which l didn't see of course! Otherwise this issue would have been sorted as well. But other wise everything else l was happy with.

The welcome from Tony at reception was first class. Very friendly and me feel at home at once. With a main road nearby, I did have my concerns if I'd get good night sleeps over the course of a three day stay. I should have kept my concerns at home. Hardly any noise at all and same within the establishment. No banging of doors or other disruptive guests. Being my birthday weekend, I treated myself to two continental and one full breakfast. Tony and Jane gifted me the full breakfast due to my birthday and even put a candle out for me to blow a wish. You really can't get any kinder than that. The perfect hosts. Bridgend is very central in South Wales and with a great train service from Swansea to Cardiff and vice versa. You can spend time in those cities, but stay outside them in an area like Bridgend. The ideal location therefore and definitely one place I will return to before long.

There was nothing I didn't like.

This is a gently old fashioned small hotel providing a hearty full breakfast or “continental “ if preferred. Its en suites and rooms are in need of some refurb but well provisioned and clean. Also each room had a microwave and fridge. The bathrooms had heated towel rails. It’s so relaxing and well provided for we were sorry to leave. Our host and his assistant are lovely and welcoming, caring and professional in their attention to providing a great experience. It was all we could have wished for.

The decor is a little faded but charming.

The food was lovley nice and hot and the service was very quickpleanty to choose from if you wanted the continental breakfast

A downstairs room would have been much better as my husband has walking difficulties so we couldnt use the bath a shower would have solved a lot of problems spoke to management and was told which room to ask for next time she offered to put us in a different room as a downstairs room was empty but as we only had 1 more night it wasnt worth moving everthing other than that the place was excellent

Lovely little guest house , staff was lovely and very friendly. Bedrooms very homely , good shower! Beds comfortable , breakfast was lovely too and accommodated for the fussy eaters!

Didn’t like that you couldn’t buy any other meals other than breakfast and didn’t really state on page that they didn’t sell drinks etc for someone you had never been to wales before after all that travelling a nice cold drink would have been perfect instead we had to find a shop , but by all means this didn’t effect our stay or our views on the place

The warmth of the hosts and accommodation of any special needs required Good breakfast and general feeling of ease Provision of cold water dispenser with supply of extra teabags ,milk and coffee left near room if needed

The bedroom could do with having an update The outside of the property would benefit from some attention too. but didn,t really detract from our stay as happy with everything else

An amazing stay. Very comfortable accommodation. Some lovely touches fridge, microwave, teapot, newspapers. Choice to book your breakfast during your stay. Good car parking. Tony & Jane were excellent hosts and very helpful. Recommend The Pheasant Inn within 5 minute drive. Bridgend is interesting. The Royal Mint Experience, McArthur Glen Shopping and Colty Castle all worth a visit

The size of the room and bed, it had a nice sofa in the room too! Coffee, tea making facilities and hairdryer! The staff were very friendly and food was value for money! It was very quiet and peaceful! We would stay again!

The house was hard to find on a dark and wet night! Nothing is lit up to help you? The mattress was hard! The bathroom could do with a spruce up as it had marks on the ceiling! The tap was wobbly? There was an iron mark on the carpet? Take your own plugs to charge anything up as there were no chargers in the room?
