The rooms are of good standard and nicely furnished ! We stayed in one of their rooms detached from the main pub across the pub garden but behind a secure gate etc ! Everything you need in room for a comfortable stay just one exception for my wife was she found the mattress too firm for her liking and so didn’t get a comfortable sleep but it was fine for me! We ate in the pub restaurant both evenings and mornings at breakfast! The evening crew were a complete delight very friendly with great sense of humour we had a lovely evening especially the first evening chatting and laughing with the manager and her brilliant team and the chef was also good creating some great tasting dishes ! Also good onsite parking available with a ten minute walk to park and ride taking you to Bath for an able person !

Only the too firm mattress for wife

Very conveniently close to the Cotswold Way and next to bus stop for busses to Bath and Stroud. Comfortable room, good beds, very nicely decorated rooms and pub and clean (apart from the cups in the room). Very nice food, both for diner and breakfast from traditional English to vegetarian. Next to the horse racing course. Our room looked out onto it. Accessible on foot via Cotswold Way and a path leading across the golf course.

Our room was right next to / above the kitchen extraction fan which is on day and night. Tea cups we needed to wash first and there could have been an extra towel rail or holder next to the one ring there was (after all it was a room for two people).

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 12.30 and went to the bar to ask about the park and ride. We were told our room was ready so we could check in early. The room was clean and spacious and very welcoming.

The bed was very hard. I have a firm bed at home, so I was initially pleased, but I woke during the night as I felt the springs pressing against me. A mattress topper would probably prevent that from happening. We were surprised to have a service charge added to our bill in the restaurant. Neither of us saw it on the menu and were surprised it had been applied on a party of 2. (It had happened to us earlier when we went to a cafe for lunch, perhaps it's a local thing?). I know that a service charge is often applied to larger parties. We didn't query it with the waitress at the time as we were the last ones left in the restaurant, and she was busy clearing the tables. That said, the food was delicious.

The bedroom was desperate from the pub itself, it was more of a self contained bedroom, bathroom and living space in a private courtyard a few steps away from the pub. The courtyard had a lockable door so only those staying overnight to get in. The bedroom was warm when we first arrived, very country style with warm tones. We were impressed by the usual tea and coffee stand that also had bottles of water. The bed was huge! Me and my partner struggled to find each other to cuddle up late at night. There was hanging storage, plenty of drawers and a hair dryer and TV available. A nice cosy chair and a desk for getting ready at. The shower in the bathroom is like on of the rainforest ones! Loved it . The staff were amazing and accomodating. We left our house at half 5 in the morning only to arrive at 10 am work out and ready for a coffee. We knew we could check in a little early as we had messages the night before but let's face it 10am check in is a no go at any any hotel. However we spoke with a lovely lady who offered to get us coffees and a warm spot to sit at seeing as we'd been in the car for 3 hours and she was quick to see if there was anything they could do to help. We had a family party to go to after 12 and I had asked if possible to get changed in the room if one became available. We enjoyed a stunning latte and it wasn't long before they advised on this occasion they could help, we paid the early check in fee and were in our room before 12 so we could get ready. We returned in the evening for a small family dinner, the Vegan falafel burger was good but the vegan ice cream much better! They had gluten free options as well so everyone at the table were catered for. We slept quite well, considering you're on top of a huge hill we didn't hear any wind or anything to disrupt us . Breakfast the next morning was amazing, my aunt was impressed by the individual cafeteier coffee.

When we arrived I used the toilet that's in the pub, it was so cold, I think the stone walls had something to do with that. I had just left the warmth of the pub to go to the loo though.

Fantastic location if you have a car but buses also run down the hill to the city centre —peacefully tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, yet less than a five-minute drive to get right into it. The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything you need. We had the room with a window so we could watch the sunrise/sunset. The bar and restaurant are excellent, offering a great selection of dishes that truly feel home-cooked and fresh—possibly the best food we've had in England so far. The staff are warm and welcoming, making it an all-around wonderful stay!

The bed was a little hard but it was a nice change up!

Great location just outside Bath city centre and great access to Park and Ride facility into Bath. Buses every 15 minutes and very scenic drive down into Bath (main reason for choosing this Hotel). Our room was spacious, stylish and spotlessly clean and our accommodation was separate from main pub building. We arrived at 5.30 pm on a Sunday evening and pub kitchen closed at 6.00 pm, which was disappointing, had to go to another pub (Hare and Hounds) down the hill for an excellent meal. Breakfast was standard choices with cereals etc and cooked options (excellent porridge). Stayed 2 nights and pub deserted in the evening, not much atmosphere, probably very different on race days! Staff were all very friendly, polite and professional. Recommend despite lack of food served on evening. Great location for visiting Bath without hassle of looking for parking.

The room was lovely and very comfortable. All staff were very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was great! Location also great. Very cozy, clean and comfortable place to stay to access the Cotswolds.

Our room (family) had an accessible bathroom. It wasn't ideal - the shower is totally open to the rest of the bathroom, and it was a little dated compared with the room itself. It also didn't feel entirely clean - that may have been the age of it. The toilet also stopped working while we were there, however the staff were onto it and got it fixed right away.

We stayed here for one night as we were completing the Bath 50km ultra challenge which started at the nearby Bath Racecourse - when I say nearby, it is a stone’s throw away Check in was quick and easy, very friendly staff. I had a few questions before we arrived which were answered via message promptly We stayed in the Ensleigh room which was spacious, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Kettle with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and complimentary biscuits Bathroom had complimentary toiletries so we didn’t need to use our own We went for dinner on the Friday evening in main bath which was approx a 10 minute drive

The location was excellent. The rooms were lovely and located in a courtyard a short walk away from the pub. Breakfast was very good

My only small gripe was that the rooms weren’t serviced during the 2 days we were there. The first day we had just finished breakfast and they arrived to clean the rooms but we asked them to come back - which they didn’t. The second day we were out all morning and they arrived to clean the rooms just as we got back - which was a bit inconvenient - so they didn’t get done again. We were just given extra water

The Inn was really beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. I like that all the rooms were separate to the restaurant and everything was well planned out. We arrived in the dark later that evening and the walk way was lit up and made us feel safe. We liked that guest visiting the restaurant did not have access to the rooms, so we didnt have to worry about safety and disruptions.

We had to check out really early and didn't know what to do with the key. I would suggest leaving check out instructions in the rooms or even a drop box for the keys.
