The location was perfect, the hotel staff were all so friendly, the breakfast was scrumptious, so much choice & we had one dinner there inviting our friends along & it was very good, huge meals enough for 2 people on the one plate. Great value for money.

Had to move the heavy armchair to get yo the mirror to dry my hair. The mirror in the bathroom was too high up for me to use, & there was no extractor fan, so shower steamed the room quickly...great shower though. The pillow were very hard, so will take my own next time. No wardrobe, & nowhere near enough hangers just 4, for all our clothes. No point asking for more as no where to hang the clothes.

We were attending a family wedding and picked this hotel for its location for a two night stay. We found the hotel was just what our family required (8 of us in total). The staff were very friendly and always available to assist. The rooms were clean, the food excellent both breakfasts and the evening meal we ate there on the first evening. Our room was quiet and comfortable so we had a good nights sleep after our long drive. The whole place had a very welcoming atmosphere. When visiting my sister we would certainly consider staying at the Ruebens again.

There wasnt anything we didn't like really.

Location was excellent for our requirements. We had intended to visit the Wensleydale Railway as part of a tour around North Yorkshire. Bed comfortable, shower excellent, breakfast very sufficient. Staff very nice and helpful. Parking good.

Generally overall no adverse comments. As a observation though the location itself is not a beauty spot. Handy for Bedale and the rest of that area, though. We knew this on booking however. Our room was near a roadway: which was not busy, especially at night (at least when we were there (mid-May).

Exceptionally clean efficient and friendly staff. Walked through the door and receptionist had the room key ready, gave us directions to room and within minutes we were on our way. Restaurant meal in evening was excellent honey mustard pork loin delicious but go for peas not salad and prices very reasonable. Room has to be the cleanest I stayed in and price was cheaper than our previous stays in Bedale

Room overlooked road which for us was noisy as we live in a quiet area so when you book try for one not road side albeit room was excellent

Amazing atmosphere, food was amazing and cheap for what you got especially kids meals amazing portions. Christmas bedding on for kids in family room was a lovley idea. Staff we lovley to the kids and us made our experience here amazing. Such a cosy place and very christmassy ❤️

Its not a dislike just a personal preference, maybe a little background music in the bar/restaurant, when we first arrive it was quite quiet and with our 3 children any noise they made sounded loud lol so i do think some background noise would be good. Once other families came though it was fine x

Was very surprised at the hotel very nice looking well looked after. On entering the hotel I was early the staff were very helpful my room was ready 10 minutes after my early arrival nothing was too much trouble very helpful and happy staff. The rooms are clean and modern and same with the bathrooms very pleasant. Had evening meal the food is of a very high standard. Again the staff are very helpful and happy service was 10/10. Highly recommended hotel.

The only fault was the view from my hotel window at the back not the best but not the worst 🤣🤣🤣

Quite interesting property, decent size room, opened with a card, clean bathroom with all it was needed, bar with very nice staff, considerable size car park. Place resemble a bit of a hotel rather than just a B&B. Although I may not be experienced enough. Arrived quite late and was admitted without impression it was something not appropriate.

It is hard to say, breakfast could be served with a bit of a variety instead of Full English every day, but really it was not all that bad. Black pudding was very nice so no prob's.

We were there for a funeral wake and the buffet provided was excellent. Evening food also good and a good range of drinks at the bar. Excellent friendly staff.

Evening food finished early, bar shut at 10pm and breakfast was very early finishing at 9am. I think the hotel caters more for business people hence the early hours. We found the shower cubicle very slippery which we told the staff about so a bath mat would be useful.

The room was exceptionally clean, staff went above and beyond to ensure we could check in early prior to a wedding we were attending which took the stress out of it all. We didn't stay for breakfast but that was our choice but it was a bonus it was also included.

We had a ground floor room, my only feedback would be the blind on the door needs to be blackout/ out a curtain over the door as the room was light from around 5am. This wouldn't put me off staying again though.

Nice breakfast, really friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable beds with lovely sheets. The hotel isn't set in beautiful surroundings but is a great place from which to explore the area or for a particularly nice overnight stop on a long journey. The staff deserve a special mention for their kindness and thoughtfulness especially with my husband who has Alzheimers.

Disappointed not to be able to order a meal after 7.50pm.
