Friendly staff who accommodated us arriving late due to traffic. Lovely room, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed & clean modern bathroom. Restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night in February but they had a special Steak Night event on. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free for my husband. Breakfast was good too & nicely presented.

The room was freezing upon arrival as radiators had been turned off. Heated up very quickly once turned on but then the room got too hot overnight as they seemed to stay on.

The property was immaculate. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We ate dinner there too and both it and the included breakfast the following day were delicious. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly and we were able to charge our EV for free overnight making our trip totally relaxed and hassle free.

We stayed in Room 2 which was near to the kitchen and because of the hot weather we had the windows open. It was a little noisy in the morning when the chefs had their radio whilst preparing food. Also we found the duvet too heavy and hot for the weather.

I had a flat as it was the only room left on that particular day. I was a solo traveller there for one night so it wasnt of great benefit to me but if you were there in a couple it would be a great base as it also comes with a reasonably sized kitchenette. The views over the countryside are superb. The hotel is cosy, busy with a lively atmosphere and reasonably priced menu and drinks.

It would be more cosy and useful if there was also an armchair in the seating area of the flat

We stayed at the Davenport last night ,can't recommend the Davenport enough. Lovely friendly staff you get the family atmosphere feeling . Eating at the Davenport we had fish finger sandwich for lunch if your small eater share it . Fish and chips the Fish is massive, lovely breakfast . Rooms good size everything you could need . There isn't a lift to hotel room 20 steps upstairs to rooms . Would definitely stay again good base for visiting surrounding area ,not far from Teesside airport.Bus stop over road to go to Darlington Stockton, Yarm ect .

Breakfast was included in booked price and was freshly cooked - lovely! Lots of choice and very flexible - we could have had more but the portions were more than good. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Plug in the bath did not hold the water properly and the bedside lights were too dim to read by so we had to put the main light on which was too bright. Both these issues were fed back the next morning and the manager promised to address them both

Exceptionally nice room in the very recently finished apartment building next to the main pub - I suspect this may have been an upgrade. We had three meals over the weekend and each of them was outstanding. The pub has a really nice traditional atmosphere while the outside area, at least in good weather, has a Med-style pavement cafe vibe. This is clearly a go-to destination venue for people in the area, and quite right too.

Two or three of the staff were clearly very new and didn't know the answer to basic questions. That said, nothing was too much trouble and the standard of service is top-notch. The water took a long time to run hot in our top-floor room, and it's very close to Teesside Airport so you know all about it when planes are taking off. We ended up spending more than £400 for two nights and three meals. Definitely worth it but it's not cheap.

Fantastic attentive team from arrival through to dinner and breakfast- superb!! High quality food with a great selection so well done to all involved.

My only suggested improvement would be to offer a room service breakfast but appreciate that’s a slightly different business model- people would pay a service charge perhaps.

From the outside The Devonport looks like just another decent pub with accommodation. It is only on entering the bedroom (Room 5 in our case) that one grasps immediately that this is a gem. The very clean room was very tastefully decorated with a fine view over the adjacent park. Breakfast, indeed all the meals we had there over our three days, were excellent, so much so, that we invited our nearby family to join us for breakfast on two occasions. My brother also hosted a table of 15 for a superb Sunday lunch there. In short, we know The Devonport's food and it is very good indeed. It is clearly popular with locals - not surprising, given its idyllic location with outside seating overlooking a park leading down to a river.

There was nothing that we didn't like. All the staff were really friendly and obliging. Everything in our room worked. We'd return in a heart beat.

This is one of the best places I have stayed in, only just nipped at the top spot by the Angel at Hetton (Michelin). The staff and food at this place are second to none. This place does not follow the usual pub food vibe and creates something different. The portions and quality is excellent. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms are outstanding. Highly recommend

Excellent value for money. Clean and comfortable room. Large and comfortable bed and high quality shower and small bathroom. Very tasty and good value breakfast included in our rate. Overall, I would highly recommend and look forward to staying here again when passing this way again.
