Exceptional staff. Unlikely to find a better service from staff elsewhere. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you Kane and Mark for making my stay exceptional. Kane in particular went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. My only issue was the guest next door snoring which kept me up on my last night but not a fault of the hotel. (Kane actually tried to fix this) Also my room (especially the bath tub and fan ) could’ve been cleaner but this could have been due to my request to be moved to a different room which was accommodated on short notice hence the new room may not have been more cleanly ready. The fan was covered in cobwebs which was a shame as it kept blowing dust all over the room. Aside from these little niggles which is merely feedback for minor improvement which were not entirely the hotel’s fault but mine for changing rooms last minute (to an actually upgraded room thanks to Kane) I would 1 million percent recommend staying here. It feels like home away from home thanks to the brilliant staff. Thank you guys , I’d never stay anywhere else when in town. I never write reviews but had to. Definitely stay here if you’re considering it.

Superb location. Yards from the centre of town. Luckily on Sunday the hotel wasn't busy so secured a basement parking space. Great value for £5. Staff were excellent and check-in was quick. 2 spacious lifts. Our rooms were on the 3'rd floor. Well appointed and spotless, however the window only opened a little and the rooms were quite hot. No air-con, but there was a large fan in both rooms which did help. Beds were large and very comfortable. The restaurant on Monday morning was very quiet. Very good selection of hot and cold food available. Check out on Monday was easy and efficient.

Bedrooms were uncomfortably hot on arrival

Breakfast Excellent Welcomed by a friendly face Eggs cooked to order which were very nice not bullets my brother has scrambled egg they were perfect not hard and dry! Like would be if sat for a while on the service trolley Bedroom was comfortable and clean Downside no biscuits on the tea coffee tray Nice Coffee machine Also a fridge with waters and other drinks in

We arrived earlier than check in time but aggressively told check in at 3 We knew this and was ladled down with our bags The lift to our floor had a lift out of order sign Bar service very slow Also not much of a lunch menu When we arrived after traveling we wanted a decent lunch unfortunately it was just a snack menu! Other tables were set up for booked afternoon tea little disappointed to be told there is a Weatherspoon around the corner.

Staff were fantastic apart from breakfast staff. There was a little confusion with our rooms on arrival which was sorted straight away. Our rooms were spacious and clean.

Breakfast. No clean tables although only 2 were taken. The waiter cleared them but didn't wipe any. I cleared one myself. No eggs at all on the buffet. Had to ask for beans, juice and cutlery as these had ran out and not refilled. It was 9am so still another hour to go. Alot of people came in after us and there was no bread. The food areas aswell as tables were not kept clean. The Breakfast waiter needs an intense training course or the sack.

The location was fabulous, we travelled to go to a show at the Darlington Hippodrome, the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the venue! We had food at the hotel the night we arrived this very tasty and good value for money! There was breakfast included in our deal, the breakfast was beautiful! We also got a parking space which again was good value for money £5 which covered us for 24 hours!

There was a a couple of tiles missing from the edge of the shower cubicle but other than that everything else was good!

Decor, room size, facilities in and around hotel. Reception team was very welcoming and helpful.

Car park was £20 for overnight parking. Within 3 minutes walk there were several safe car parks for 1/3 of the price. Cleaning in rooms was generally good but the usual places were missed e.g. visible parts of radiators, tops of shelves, etc. Shower room was lovely however, because of the size of the glass screen, it was impossible to use the shower without practically semi-flooding the shower room.

the location was spot on. breakfast was great second room was lovely

our first room was very noisy at 4:45am with sounds coming from the plant room above but we were very kindly moved to a privilege room the day after. Both rooms do need a little attention to detail ie paint splatter over the wallpaper, grout and silicone in the bathrooms need attention, the toilet roll holder in the privilege room coming off the wall, also a cracked mug and the windows were quite dirty.

Room was comfortable and quiet, tea, coffee etc available, plenty of towels...lift to my floor. The staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful.

Disappointed in both breakfasts - Buffet Breakfast did not serve pancakes although showed as available online and coffee was really, really strong and tepid on reaching my room. Only 2 small pats of butter supplied for toast....just a scraping really. Cooked Breakfast included 1 mushroom not cooked through, half a tomato grilled pus 3 veggie sausages and toast only grilled on one side !! Not impressed with this and left feeling quite hungry. Coffee as above...could not drink it.

Location and comfort. 5 mins away from coach pick up point and close to shops aswell. Room was clean and comfortable.

The price of the drinks - paid £6 for a pint of coke and half lemonade and blackcurrant. I think that's abit dear. Also they charge £15 for an adult breakfast and half price for a child so we didn't bother. The lift to the 3rd floor wasn't working on our 2nd stay over the weekend which was annoying as i had a few bags to carry. The clock in Darlington sounded at 6am - obviously I know that isn't the hotels fault.

The location was excellent! It was on the next road over from the main town center square. A very quiet spot, the rooms were a good size & we even had a bath with over head shower in our room. For our personal preference the mattress did feel a little firm but that’s our own opinion. The staff were amazing! Nothing was too much trouble extra tea coffee etc. Stacey our receptionist told us all the history of the building with passion she was amazing! Kyle on the bar, on both Thursday & Friday nights was so chatty & friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

We felt the mattress was slightly firm but that’s our personal preference
