Very clean and comfortable. The staff were 100% lovely and very helpful. Convenient stay for an otherwise gruelling hospital visit made it much easier and more comfortable all round.

A problem with the lift meant we could not leave for a couple of hours after our planned checkout. There was no other way for my daughter to get downstairs except using an evac chair which would have aggravated her chronic pain. Obviously in an emergency situation this would have to be done, however I was surprised that with only one lift disabled guests are accommodated on an upstairs floor at all. However the staff were lovely and kept us informed and looked after us- this is obviously not their fault at all.

Amazingly clean throughout the whole hotel all area's i thought it was a new hotel it was that clean! Beds really good, staff very helpful & knowledgeable. Would stay again great location to where we wanted to be.

The breakfast on looking at it looked amazing everything you could ever want from full english/ ceareal/ fruit/ to pastries...but... The bread was next to the toaster so if you just wanted bread instead of toast, it was hard from the heat. The bacon/ black pudding was so hard it couldn't be eaten!! The coffe/tea machine when you made it tasted of just water even the staff said it could be the milk making it taste not nice! So tried making a coffee just normal with proper milk still not good! Just a few things that could be rectified it could be awesome...

Well located for what our trip was for good size car park with free parking as part of your stay and the before we stayed communication with the team and Susan was fantastic. Nothing was an issue for any of the staff.we received a very wam Northern welcome with staff who know how to look after their customers. Reception team very helpful and we booked a conference two nights For our stay so our group of 20plus could sit together and have a good chin wag. We are local from Ryhope in Sunderland and we stayed as we were in a marching band competition in Newton Aycliffe thank you Ryhope Allstars Marching band x

It’s a bit worn but well worth the price, meals in restaurant a pit pricy and took a while to get an evening meal BUT it was a bank holiday and the hotel did previously asked us to pre book if possible.

I had the best room I’ve had whenever I have stayed there (222). If this room is available again I would chose this hotel over others. All of the staff we came in contact with were super helpful and everyone including the maids were polite.

The property is conveniently located for when I visit relatives . Easy access to A1M road and has all the facilities you would need. It has a bar and a restaurant and it even has a small gym. I would say as crew for an airline who has stayed at hotels around the world that this hotel easily fulfils the needs of travellers.

On arrival the reception staff were very helpful, we were told that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant so at meal times our dog stayed in the car. We agree although we love our dog it was much less stressful and hygienic to be able to have a good breakfast without dogs yapping or getting in the way. Our room was ready on arrival was large with enough room for dog and wheelchair. The desk and table were a good height for wheelchair users. The beds were sooo comfy beautiful white cotton sheets and comfy pillows. The bathroom was large with wheelchair accessible shower. The room was kept immaculate by the cleaning staff who were very friendly .

Being picky would have liked a bigger TV

Big comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. Warned about a large disco that evening but never heard a thing. Beds lovely and comfortable, all facilities you need. Staff great and attentive. Breakfast was very good and again staff very above excellent. A huge surprise as years ago Holiday Inn was by far more basic. Highly recommend this hotel for excellent value for money, we will definitely stay again.

Overall, very friendly and helpful staff. Food of good quality and bedrooms in good order.

We all need wifi now and the signals throughout the hotel were not brilliant. This is not specific to your hotel, hotels in general. Improvement options are quick, easy and cost effective you just need to invest. Over comfort, food and most other things internet connection and speed is probably the top of what most people will complain about. One of my good friends could improve your signal at a cost of major suppliers and would be better quality - all you have to do is ask. Think of the strapline of stating you have the best Internet connection/speed of any hotel!

Close proximity to the A1. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean, comfortable room. Bright and welcoming areas to relax.

Dripping shower head in our room - 216. Heated towel rail not working. Aircon unit had part hanging down and it made a grating noise every little while so we were unable to leave it on. Breakfast very ‘tired’ having probably been cooked hours before we had it, therefore hard bacon, dry sausages, hard overcooked lumps in scrambled eggs. There was very little fruit salad, no pastries and the toast either came out black in one toaster or we had to put it through 4-5 times in the other toaster. The friendly staff were trying to correct this as we left the restaurant.

Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. Booking in was easy and fast. Room was clean and tidy, bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. Shower and bathroom were both excellent, plenty of hot water at peak time. Breakfast was good value for money and there was plenty of choice in both hot and cold foodstuffs. Highly recommended and would not hesitate to stay again.

There was nothing that we didn’t like. Everything was to our taste, great value for money.

The only thing we didn’t like was the bar football close to where we were eating our breakfast. We have found this during another stay. Children and adults getting very noisy and excited while we were trying to have a peaceful breakfast. Don’t mean to be a kill joy, could the use not be restricted to fit in around meal times?
