Friendly staff who accommodated us arriving late due to traffic. Lovely room, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed & clean modern bathroom. Restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night in February but they had a special Steak Night event on. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free for my husband. Breakfast was good too & nicely presented.

The room was freezing upon arrival as radiators had been turned off. Heated up very quickly once turned on but then the room got too hot overnight as they seemed to stay on.

The property was immaculate. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We ate dinner there too and both it and the included breakfast the following day were delicious. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly and we were able to charge our EV for free overnight making our trip totally relaxed and hassle free.

We stayed in Room 2 which was near to the kitchen and because of the hot weather we had the windows open. It was a little noisy in the morning when the chefs had their radio whilst preparing food. Also we found the duvet too heavy and hot for the weather.

Second time we've stayed and each time the rooms have been absolutely beautiful - stylishly furnished, well equipped, comfortable and spotless. The self-catering facilities in the apartment rooms are excellent, with premium-brand white goods that look like new.

The dinner menu, and the dinner itself, was better on our first stay. On one occasion, a waitress took our order by memory then when it arrived she'd got it wrong.

I had a flat as it was the only room left on that particular day. I was a solo traveller there for one night so it wasnt of great benefit to me but if you were there in a couple it would be a great base as it also comes with a reasonably sized kitchenette. The views over the countryside are superb. The hotel is cosy, busy with a lively atmosphere and reasonably priced menu and drinks.

It would be more cosy and useful if there was also an armchair in the seating area of the flat

We stayed at the Davenport last night ,can't recommend the Davenport enough. Lovely friendly staff you get the family atmosphere feeling . Eating at the Davenport we had fish finger sandwich for lunch if your small eater share it . Fish and chips the Fish is massive, lovely breakfast . Rooms good size everything you could need . There isn't a lift to hotel room 20 steps upstairs to rooms . Would definitely stay again good base for visiting surrounding area ,not far from Teesside airport.Bus stop over road to go to Darlington Stockton, Yarm ect .

Breakfast was included in booked price and was freshly cooked - lovely! Lots of choice and very flexible - we could have had more but the portions were more than good. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Plug in the bath did not hold the water properly and the bedside lights were too dim to read by so we had to put the main light on which was too bright. Both these issues were fed back the next morning and the manager promised to address them both

Superb breakfast, very helpful and pleasant staff, lovely beer garden out the back and a very nice evening meal. My only slight complaint and, it’s a minor one, is that the room was too hot, even with the window open. I only discovered the portable air con/fan unit in the wardrobe the next morning sadly. Lovely place though and will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, which made us feel very welcome. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed that ensured a great night’s sleep. This time we only had breakfast, which offered a lovely choice and excellent service. Next time we’ll be sure to stay for dinner as well. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous Hotel . The staff very welcoming on our arrival . The room we stayed it was beautiful The bed bed was very comfortable . Everywhere was so clean . The breakfast was very enjoyable we had the Full English but there was lots of choice . We will most definitely return .

Nothing everything was fantastic .

This is an exceptionally nice, small hotel. Looks like a pub from the outside and is clearly a very popular "local" in the village. The surprise was that the room was excellent, it was very quiet and the food was very good. Only downside - you need a car due to its village location.
