Gemma the Bartender and Manager Wayne were very friendly. The customers included myself and my colleague in conversation and were great to chat to. Very welcoming vibe. Nice selection of beers on tap. The room and bedding were clean. I found the bed comfortable and the price for a twin room at £55 for our stay was great! It was my first time staying there but my staff have stayed there 3 times over the past 12 months and asked to be booked into the Grey Horse after their first stay. We will definitely be back!

The shower was cold which was a shame but I quickly woke up! That would have annoyed me if the rest of our stay wasn't enjoyable, faults happen, I just got on with it. A fresh lick of paint would be good in the room

A superb little B&B and handily located close to the town centre. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and just perfectly sized for me. I had a bite to eat whilst I was there, and although it was only pizza and fries, it was very tasty and flavoursome. I would definitely book to stay here again!

I had a room facing the roadside and although it didn't deter me, I could here the local traffic, I suspect it would be even louder as the spring and summer months approaches. The shower wasn't as powerful as I'd hoped.

No food was served. The bed was adequate and the staff were extremely nice and helpful.

Unfortunately a singer with guitar was playing on the Friday night I stayed and didn't finish until 23:15hrs. Since I was working I could have done with a bit more sleep which wasn't possible whilst he was playing in the bar below my room.

Room was clean and sufficient for my needs, small leak from the bottom left of the toilet, but not an issue, plenty of tea/coffee towels and toilet paper delivered most days.

Would have been better if you could get streaming TV in your room instead of the usual Freeview

I only stayed here one night while travelling to Northumberland, a Saturday. Very reasonably priced. Nice room, above bar. No complaints there. Venue has its own off road car park. Food in the bar was very good and staff were likewise. Asked whether it was safe area around the venue, I cannot say, I only stayed one night and I was aware of no issues.

This is a pub with rooms. The night I stayed it was quite busy so there was noise from the bar until after closing time. (Obviously if you expect quiet don't stay in a pub!)

Lovely pub on the outskirts of Darlington, we had a family room for me and my son, it was spacious and very clean and the shower was very good.

There wasn't any food as I believe the pub had recently been taken over but that was fine, The only other issue we had was getting back into the accommodation as someone had deadlocked the door, as a result the owner had to come to let us in.

Check-in was easy and staff friendly. Room clean and tidy. Would definitely use it again.

Small room (and creaky floor), but as it was an overnight stop, it wasn't a big deal. A little way out of the centre so if you dont have a car, it's got to be public transport.

Exceptionally friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. Good location for events at Darlington Hippodrome. Rooms have everything you need. Good private carpark at the rear.

Pub does not serve food, however they were happy for us to order takeaway and eat in the pub. They even provided cutlery.

Gorgeous staff. Food just downstairs, parking just out the back. Absolutely loved the room - curved bay window opening to leafy trees. And the shower? Heaven. When you are travelling around a good shower is a plus. This shower however earns 5 stars on it’s own.

It’s above a pub so expect the usual muffled pub ambience- though it really wasn’t bad at all, quieter than others I’ve been to. I don’t think the tea/coffee tray had been restocked as there were only 2 coffees, but that’s such a minor thing.

Came with my partner and her family to visit my mum who lives in Darlington fair play the staff and customers was really welcoming and friendly The pub/Hotel is actually in a quite location with everything local to it we'd definitely stay again
