Spacious clean room in a separate block. Parking. Good food in the restaurant.

Downside for us (as we turned up at 07.40am) was breakfast served at 09.00am with pre order the night before for anything hot. Selection of cereals, yoghurt and fruit very limited.

Ideal stop off next to the A1 on a long journey south. Very comfortable room. Excellent food served by welcoming friendly staff

Very welcoming relaxed atmosphere.Ted and all the staff were very friendly,breakfast was great, evening meal was very good with a good menu. Rooms were roomy and clean, nothing was too much trouble, nice area beer garden at the rear of the inn. A special mention to George (the dog). Would definitely recommend this inn to anybody and will stay again.🙂🍻

Nothing comes to mind. If you don't like quiet and a village atmosphere then probably this is not for you.

Character Inn in a lovely quiet village. Handy for visiting multiple local market towns, and within east driving distance to York. The room was spacious, comfy, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Restaurant was cosy and welcoming, great service and a good selection on the menu - all delicious! Plenty of free parking on site.

No negatives at all, would definitely stay here again.

Food ,evening meal was amazing,Great chef,willing to push the boundaries,Ted unsure of this maybe,but combined great job.

Thought the towels,coffee ,tea milk etc would have been replaced daily,no issues with the bed not being made,3 day stay ,we are adults ,Coffee ,tea milk etc asked for and collected at the bar,no problem,but the extra touches / basics ? Would have made the review a 5 star.

Dinner and Breakfast both excellent

Travelling to Scotland from East Anglia so was looking for somewhere about half-way. The Woodman had ample parking, check-in was quick and efficient and room was clean and comfortable. Had Fish & Chips which were superb! Being a Wednesday, group of "locals" gathered in the bar and took it in turns to play folk songs and generally have a good sing-a-long and a laugh! Was very entertaining. Unfortunately, breakfast was later than I planned so had to miss that although I was offered a packed lunch in its place.

the room was fantastic, really liked the chalet type behind the pub , very comfortable and quiet , staff lovely

food at the pub I felt was a tad pricey for what you got , breakfast I strongly recommend the full English as the continental version was a disaster as we found out on our 1st morning, Thatchers gold cider had run out on tap so had to settle for bottles which wasn't very cold , I understand the premises are up for sale and can only hope the new owner has a bit more go in them as regards providing a complete sevice all round

Absolutely fantastic stay.the room's were very large and welcomingly comfortable. Way more then other hotels I've stayed in in this price range.the breakfasts were very good!quality local produce.and Teddy the owner and his team were always only too happy to obtain anything requested.the evening meals were also extremely good quality and a fairly extensive menus to choose from.overerall my grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will certainly be going back again in September time.
