The room was quite small but it had everything needed. It had a wow factor with the wooden beams and being across a corner. The toilet/shower looked brand new it was so clean. The staff were really friendly. The breakfast chef was amazing as he was on his own yet he stayed calm, friendly and the breakfast was excellent!! Thank you! The evening meal was also lovely! There was a good atmosphere in the bar.

The room was really hot, even with windows open, so a fan would have been helpful. The toilet seat was loose. The shower fittings were a little loose.

The stairs were steep especially as we were on the top floor But nothing can be done about that The radiator did not work , so no heat in the room . An emergency plumber was called out on the Saturday evening . On the Sunday morning no one was aware if the plumber had been or not . Would have been nice if we were asked if we had been alright with no heating as it had been a cold night , or if they had a small portable heater that could have been given to us . Towels were left outside our room on the saturday . The key to our room was lost !! so the cleaner couldn’t get in to do our room .

My Partner & I booked this Hotel on our way home from The Wellington Heifer but as in my view of the Wellington HeiferI ended up staying here on my own as my Partner had a terrrible fall in the unsafe shower at the Wellington Eifer. Therefore I ended up staying here alone as my Partner was in Hospital. The staff were absolutely Brilliant lots of sympathy & empathy for me none of which we got at The Wellington Heifer. But staff at this Hotel were great as they could see I was terribly upset.

Nothing could have been better I am just so glad that the staff here were so sympathetic.

The property is well located with parking nearby in the square. This is a lovely pub with great beers etc. breakfast was excellent and our host could not do enough for us. On our first morning we were leaving prior to breakfast serving , however the host made us coffee and toast. The rooms are very comfortable with all you need. This would be a great base for those exploring this area of the country, as Bedale is a great little town with plenty of pubs and two great curry houses.

Location, rooms, helpful staff

Room was small but sweet. Staff were helpful even providing me with a parking disc for 2 hours. Room was deliciously quiet considering it was over a pub.

There were no towels in my room. I asked for and got an iron but no ironing board. Checkout info was confusing in one place it was 10am and in another it was 10.30. All the female staff fortunately were great, the one male staff I met was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Info about parking in advance would have been appreciated.

We were visiting friends who lived locally and The Green Dragon was perfect for us. A beautiful and comfortable room even with our 3 year old cocker spaniel! The bed was huge and super comfortable We loved the beer garden and totally dog friendly 😀 we had a meal in the pub one night and it was a great menu and delicious. We loved how we could use the back entrance to our room so we weren't trailing our wet dog through the bar or muddy shoes. They even provided a huge umbrella if so needed🥰

We're used to road traffic noise and clocks chiming where we live and our room was situated overlooking Market Street so if you like peace and quiet then request a back bedroom.

Loved the location the room was large and spacious beautifully decorated. Bathroom was really clean too. The chairs in the room were a great idea they were so comfortable and made sitting watching tv whilst having a coffee a pleasure. Breakfast was really well cooked poached eggs were perfection breakfast room was very pleasant and again well decorated and clean. Really liked the side door exit onto the main street instead of going through the pub when it was busy All in all would definately recommend. Congratulations to the owners on providing a great experience.

Had minor heating issue on arrival but staff were helpful with this and once resolved room was warm and cosy. Our only suggestion is a small coffee table that you could put near the chairs to put mugs on would make for perfection and a faultless room.

Lovely lively pub in the centre of Bedale. We enjoyed a tasty dinner down in the bar which is dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and so were the locals. Our room 4 was nicely decorated and furnished, clean and comfortable. It looked onto the rear of the pub which made it quiet. The bed was really comfy with good quality linen. The bathroom was compact but adequate. Breakfast was nice could have done with slightly more choice on the continental side for the price point. Great stay and would recommend.

Check in was a little hectic, via a very busy teatime bar. Was shown to our room but could just have done with a little more information regarding breakfast and seating. There are no dogs allowed in the main dinning area but wasn't informed we could leave our dog in the room.

The breakfast, which was included in the price, was perfect. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. We had a meal there on the evening which was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault the service or the staff. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot for exploring the area.

The room could’ve been slightly cleaner, mainly the shower which had a ball of someone else’s hair in it, a few cobwebs and hadn’t been hoovered but saying that I am quite particular and do have quite high standards. It was absolutely fine and comfortable otherwise.

Staff lovely, couldnt be more helpful, beautiful dog friendly room, more amenities than you get in much more expensive hotels. Probabaly best cooked breakfast we've had away from home! Great location for surrounding areas, and plenty going on in town itself!

This isnt really a major, as we were at front of hotel, some early morning delivery noise in the street below, but only from 7am onwards,and we did stay a weekday, and its such a great bustling little town, its only to be expected, otherwise, a great nights sleep, very quiet!
