Lovely surroundings great views. Room was well sized, exceptionally clean! Additional pillows supplied in wardrobe. Very quiet. Food was excellent unfortunately due to taking ill had to check out early so was unable to partake in the breakfast:(

WiFi was poor and lack of phone signal in room (not a big issue as is nice to be technology free but in emergencies I was left without family being able to contact me if needed). Room were as clean however lacked cosiness, maybe some pictures hung on walls would take the bareness off the rooms. A fan may be a welcome addition as even without heating on the room was warm!

Peaceful countryside stay with great breakfast This is a lovely family-run hotel in the countryside. We had a huge room with a very comfortable bed. The jacuzzi was unfortunately out of order. Also, the bathroom fan keeps running for a long time after the light is turned off — if possible, it would be better if it shut off after just a minute. Overall, we had a very relaxing stay surrounded by nature — fresh air, peace and quiet. Breakfast was delicious. For dinner, we went to another hotel just 5 minutes away by car, as the on-site restaurant closes at 8 PM.

Lovely old inn with great modern sleeping accommodation. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The advertised WiFi didn't work, and due to the location, there were no 5g/4g connections. We didn't visit to be stuck on devices, but connection would have been useful for research places to visit. The menu was a little on the pricey side compared to places in Masham itself. We ended up eating in the King's Arms, which was a little cheaper and provided the Internet connection we needed for our research. The pub is advertised as Masham but a little way out.

Excellent location excellent restaurant meals and fair price. Quiet location and walks in the area .Room very spacious and warm and modern.

Very poor atmosphere in the public areas . It was quiet when we arrived with only 6 or so locals outside and then in the bar inside. Appreciate quiet but still lack of atmosphere. I would suggest a tv in the restaurant area to lighten things up instead of depressing cd . Owner on site but didn't really mingle or chat to non locals but we would still return.

From arriving till we left the whole experience was wonderful, from the friendly greeting by SCOTT who looked after us from beginning to the end,catering for all our needs to the quality of the food and the good selection of guest beers we certainly enjoyed ourselves, the room was very nice with quality fittings plenty of fluffy towels, a huge bed ,underfloor heating to keep you warm the weather was a bit chilly on our stay. We will certainly be back to stay ,such a friendly atmosphere in the bar with visitors from throughout the UK .SEE you soon ,John Coan Widnes

Superb location with a view over the Vale of York to the North Yorkshire Moors on a good day. The room was spacious and the bed really comfortable. We had four nights of excellent sleep. The staff and other guests were all friendly and we enjoyed all our breakfasts and dinners. A highlight was listening to the curlews calling in the village and on the walks recommended by the staff. Coming from York, it was delightful to see swallows and swifts, goldfinches and thrushes and so many hares.

It was a little basic. There was no box of tissues and a limited selection of teas in the room but we were comfortable.

Dinner: Great quality and large portions. Breakfast: superb Yorkshire breakfast. Room: Vary large room, with all necessary facilities. Nice to have a decent size cup and saucer for morning tea! Comfortable and warm bar with great beers (Black Sheep). Friendly staff (Scott)

Free Wifi was initially temperamental, but soon sorted itself out.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with underfloor heating and a lovely bath tub. The location is spot on, with beautiful views and very peaceful. We had an evening meal which was absolutely fantastic! Nice bar area with a cosy fire and a decent selection of drinks.

There is no door between the bedroom and bathroom which could be a little awkward.

The welcome was great. The staff were very friendly without being intrusive. The room was large clean and comfortable. The bathroom was fabulous and the towels were big enough for a larger person. We had dinner and breakfast and both were great

The toiletries could have been individual rather than large bottles but they were quality items

The staff were amazing and the location was stunning. Nice clean room with a gorgeous view. Very comfortable and chilled.

The only snag I have really was that when I booked the room it said that there was a bath. That's the main reason I chose the room, I wanted a nice relaxing bath after a very intense hike.
